Feck me. americandream I have to ask, are you on glue?

If I were you, I'd put down the adhesive and open a window. Stat.

As for the OP, lets hope so.

CaptainSquirrel · 25/03/2019 23:08

In fairness, it is all already kicking off. We've already had Barry driving slowly along the M4 in his ford minivan and things have barely started yet.

Ribbonsonabox · 25/03/2019 23:08

Theres hope because vast swathes of leavers will be dead in the next 5 years and vaste swathes of young people will hit 18 and in the most part support remain....
So if we can just drag it out a while....

PinkieTuscadero · 25/03/2019 23:08

Treat yourself to a wee valium, americandream. Nightie night.

Ewitsahooman · 25/03/2019 23:10

You mark my words. Brexit being cancelled will result in a fucking shit storm that will make remainers shake in their boots

For all there is a name calling on both sides, I only ever see threats of violence coming from one side. Well done for playing into the stereotype that all Leave voters are mildly thick thugs who seem to think that threatening to kick a few heads in is the way to go.

Awww, cute little pics mocking me now

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

WhoTFIsAlanBrazil · 25/03/2019 23:10

This thread is depressing and hilarious in equal measures.

@americandream were you one of the three attendees at the leavers' march? Are you in charge of civil war, or is that one of the other two? Just wondering how you're planning on starting it, that's all.

Windowsareforcheaters · 25/03/2019 23:10

Peanut1983 I'm sorry you think posters are being arrogant but the point about the millennium bug has been made lots of times.

It didn't just 'not happen'. Lots of people spent lots of time making it not happen. Lots of posters have posted lots of posts explaining how hard they worked to make it not happen. When you imply it just disappeared you are ignoring all the work people put in. That's rather arrogant of you.

ShitAtScarbble · 25/03/2019 23:11

americandream - Nigel? Is that you? It’s past your bedtime Nigel. I won’t tell you again!
Stop smoking and gobbing off and come inside and brush your teeth.
He’s not Lord of Brexit - he’s a very naughty boy!!

Peanut1983 · 25/03/2019 23:12

And can't we put in the work to ensure a smooth Brexit? We've known about it for 1000 days for gods sake.

Windowsareforcheaters · 25/03/2019 23:12

Unfortunately we only have 7 days left.

RHTawneyonabus · 25/03/2019 23:12

Frankly I long for the days when we had the leisure to worry about people becoming disengaged from democracy....

Bufferingkisses · 25/03/2019 23:12

Sadly I think pp is right to some degree. There is a massive tide of hate and vitriol on the leavers side. Some dangerously angry people have aligned themselves and made good use of social media to goad the average voter to the point where I think there would be a worrying amount of trouble.

Put it this way, I'd be very nervous of throwing a public "revoke won" party. In fact there are a lot of places in my (very middle class, remain voting) town where i wouldn't even raise a glass to it for fear of the reaction.

VentingDaughter · 25/03/2019 23:13

There will be a civil war if it's cancelled.

I bet there won't. The plain fact is that the vote was fatally tainted by all the fraud surrounding the Leave campaign and that should have been recognised a long time ago. The reality is that, the more the electorate has found out about the reality of Brexit, the less stomach there is for it. I suspect that if they just revoke Article 50 and forget the whole mess ever happened there will be a mass sigh of relief.

whyamievenamazeddotcom · 25/03/2019 23:13

MPs a load of “Violet Elizabeth’s” all scweeming until they’re sick! Or until they get their own way despicable bullying behaviour!

Ewitsahooman · 25/03/2019 23:13

And can't we put in the work to ensure a smooth Brexit? We've known about it for 1000 days for gods sake.

If TM had bothered to listen to advice and get her government to carry out some proper research before blundering in and triggering Article 50 with no plan whatsoever in place then they'd have realised it's going to take a fuck of a lot longer than 1000 days to sort it all out.

noblegiraffe · 25/03/2019 23:14

can't we put in the work to ensure a smooth Brexit?

I don’t know if you’ve read the papers lately, but it’s a bit of a shitshow. Turns out the people in charge of the country are total incompetents.

SciFiRules · 25/03/2019 23:15

Remainers have no argument??? The leave has never been able to demonstrate a single advantage of Brexit. The demonstrable benefits of the EU are all around us, trade, peace, standardisation, FOM, environmental protection, employment protection, grants for regeneration. The failures of successive governments are also about us, loss of industry, failure to develop struggling areas, youth unemployment in certain categories, educational imbalance - none the fault of the EU or improved by Brexit.

trytobenicedear · 25/03/2019 23:15

Peanut1983 in all seriousness, how do you suggest we move forward to deliver Brexit by 12 April in the absence of May's WA going through (whic it won't). No Deal would be crap for everyone especially the poorest. We are running out of time, the best thing to do would be to Revoke, sort out a decent plan and then when that is in place, invoke article 50 again.

HeyCarrieAnneWhatsYourGame · 25/03/2019 23:15

TurquoiseDress · 25/03/2019 23:16

@recrudescence

Grin ha ha yes I agree, something good might come out of it

Peanut1983 · 25/03/2019 23:17

I'd probably be one of the people that could be convinced to join the remain side... but honestly, the thought of joining them makes me sick. Such know it alls, so incredibly rude. It puts me right off.

Literally nobody has explained properly to me why remain is such a good idea. At least without being arrogant twats about it. I'm not interested in silly pictures of may, or farage bashing or insults. Give me hard facts!!! But nobody can or will.

I'm a university educated scientist. So I can't even blame me being thick on this one. I just don't know which side, if any are telling the truth.

pepinana · 25/03/2019 23:19

There will be a civil war if it's cancelled

Oh yeah, there'll be that 200 strong army of leavers Nigel Garage rustled up at his pathetic rally last week. Quaking in my boots Hmm

trytobenicedear · 25/03/2019 23:20

Peanut1983 I think Heseltine summed up the benefit of Remaining in a sentence:

“Alone” was never Churchill’s hope or wish - it was his fear.

noblegiraffe · 25/03/2019 23:20

Peanut you asked if we could fund our own stuff (arts, sciences etc). With what money, when we can’t even fund schools properly?

You asked if we could make our own stuff. With what? Think of all the manufacturing that has moved abroad. You think we can just move it back? The factory near me has been turned into flats.

Windowsareforcheaters · 25/03/2019 23:21

How do you explain facts without being a know it all? If you have more facts at your disposal you do know more. You come across as arrogant because you a fighting feelz with facts.

Brexit had better rhetoric. Remain had more facts.

Remain arrogantly relied on the facts. The people liked a bit of rhetoric.
