A second referendum is likely to be as close as the first one.

I don't think it would be. The last 2 years have been a shit show, and now many who voted leave are realizing that the promises that were made are impossible to implement or actual lies.

whatdoyousayhey · 21/03/2019 09:13

Looks like the whole website is down! I'm just getting a "bad gateway" message ... any idea what it was up too?

Colourpencils · 21/03/2019 09:13

Oh don't be do ridiculous Positive eyelashes?? I've spent the last three years reading, listening and talking about this - eyelashes my arse.

IceRebel · 21/03/2019 09:14

I honestly believe that it could have been the best thing for us and a massive opportunity to hit the reset button on this sinking country.

I would love to know why you think this, genuinely, i'm not tying to be goady.

Colourpencils · 21/03/2019 09:14

Unprecedented volume of people trying to sign the petition - really hope people will persevere

mydogisthebest · 21/03/2019 09:16

I'd like to know what would happen if we had a 2nd referendum (which I don;t think we should) and the vote is still to leave but by a small majority. Surely then people would be bleating for a 3rd?

Or the vote is remain but by a smaller majority that the original was for leave?

We can't just keep repeating things over and over again

ReSistersUnited · 21/03/2019 09:17

Signed and shared.

Colourpencils · 21/03/2019 09:18

Well Theresa May seems to think it's ok mydog her deal back again and again Hmm

Petition is back up

JuneFromBethesda · 21/03/2019 09:18

We can’t just keep repeating things over and over again

Tell that to Theresa May ... leading by example

Dumdedumdedum · 21/03/2019 09:19

It's there now, at 619,262 signatures and counting. Revoke Article 50 is top trending on UK Twitter. I thought there was a very recent Sky News poll showing that a huge majority would vote Remain if a new referendum was held, with "May's deal", "no deal" or "Remain" on the ballot paper?

fauxhuman · 21/03/2019 09:19

Have you viewed the map too!

Roomba · 21/03/2019 09:19

I can't access it, just says '502 Bad Gateway'. Will keep trying!

fauxhuman · 21/03/2019 09:20

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241584

StarlingsEverywhere · 21/03/2019 09:20

Same. I bet so many people have signed it that it’s gone down.

StarlingsEverywhere · 21/03/2019 09:20

I mean, the website has combusted.

Cloudtree · 21/03/2019 09:21

The vote was almost three years ago. Things change. People become aware of new information. This is democracy at work.

fauxhuman · 21/03/2019 09:21

I can still see it

Cloudtree · 21/03/2019 09:21

Keep trying. DH just managed it.

IM0GEN · 21/03/2019 09:21

It’s crashed out because so many people are accessing it. Last time I check it was going up by hundreds every time I refreshed, so approx every 10 seconds.

adeo1929 · 21/03/2019 09:21

Can't access it either ☹️

CuriousaboutSamphire · 21/03/2019 09:23

Tell that to Cameron who set up the shit show and then ran away!

Tell that to every single politician, none of them have engaged in good faith. They have ALL played their part in this travesty.

I can no longer give a hsit whether we stay in or out... in the lng runn we will have far bigger issues to deal with. This has revealed the parlous state of UK politics.

Cloudtree · 21/03/2019 09:23

But those who have signed already and are refreshing it to watch the numbers go up should get out since that will be blocking the access for those who want to sign.

StarlingsEverywhere · 21/03/2019 09:24

Mydog, it’s been nearly three years since the last referendum. Things change, people change their minds. That’s why we have an general election at least every five years. So how is it undemocratic to check again whether the people still want to leave? Now they know the facts instead of the bullshit the Leave campaign lied about last time? If May can keep trying to get her deal through, and that’s fine, why is it so terrible to ask the public again if this is what they want?

Colourpencils · 21/03/2019 09:26

Agree not to keep refreshing so that others can access, perhaps people could report the total when they do eventually get on

IceRebel · 21/03/2019 09:28

instead of the bullshit the Leave campaign lied about last time?

I would love to see what the leave campaign use as a carrot to entice people if there was another vote, since so many of their soundbites (cough bus cough) have been proven to be lies.
