That doesn’t really answer the question though, does it?

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 21/03/2019 10:19

You can think what you like though can't you... Do you not wonder why the world doesn't agree with you though.

JacquesHammer · 21/03/2019 10:23

Do you not wonder why the world doesn't agree with you though

Not really....I know why it doesn't agree with me Confused

I'm sure at some point the barbaric, outdated practice will be made illegal.

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 21/03/2019 10:25

Why is that?

daisyjgrey · 21/03/2019 10:26

There are zero reasons to routinely circumcise.

Stawp · 21/03/2019 11:35

Glad you've decided to stand up for your son and his rights OP. Good luck with the conversation.

Smotheroffive · 21/03/2019 14:57

Smother: The OP knows what she believes. She doesn’t need you yelling it repetitively

Oh do wind your neck in Hotpot

There is no comparison possible between an ear lobe and the penis sheath that protects the glans
What a ridiculous comparison,they just don't compare.
Please someone provide any justification for this barbaric procedure, as I haven't seen one yet.
Can someone explain why it might ever be OK to do that to a baby when even an adult man can't have that do e without sound medical need.

You cannot just go and get a foreskin removed on the NHS, so why should this be inflicted on a baby, the continual pain of having the glans exposed, and the resultant toughening of the skin and desensitisation.

No its not the same as fgm, as fgm is removing not just skin but clitoris (comparable to removing the glans).

But it is still mutilating the genitals of a baby boy, without any good reason.

FullOfJellyBeans · 21/03/2019 15:01

You know full well that's a stupid argument. In the past (and in some countries it's still the case now) it's legal to rape your wife. Historically the law hasn't always been right so that isn't an argument.

I think it's fairly obvious that you shouldn't remove part of a person's genitals without medical need.

Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis · 21/03/2019 15:07

Surely a condom “desensitises” more than this and some are ribbed to increase friction? I’m struggling to see why we need more justification than child topiary is inhumane?

Smotheroffive · 21/03/2019 15:13

There is no justification for it, AFAIK,none at all (excepting resolving medical condition) but to painfully remove part of a baby, arguably the most sensitive part, is completely inhumane and barbaric.

Alsohuman · 21/03/2019 15:18

You can’t get cataract surgery on the NHS where I live. Not being able to get a procedure on the NHS doesn’t render it inherently clinically unsafe. You really are beyond hysterical, @smother.

NCforthis2019 · 21/03/2019 15:29

Don’t let your husband mutilate your son. Please.

Smotheroffive · 21/03/2019 15:30

Please dont @ me also

Are you here defending circumcision, as you just seem to be picking holes for no point?

It wasn't what I said actually was it. Oh I can't be arsed to explain to someone who just wants to pick holes for their own benefit.

THEsonofaBITCH · 21/03/2019 15:36

There is no justification for it, AFAIK,none at all
Spoken like an anti-vax'er. The AMA, the CDC and DOD all disagree with you after peer reviewed medical studies were done; but hey-ho why let a little thing like actual facts dissuade one from a solely emotional position? Confused

Smotheroffive · 21/03/2019 15:41

Grin Grin
What seriously are you on about 😂😂😂😂

THEsonofaBITCH · 21/03/2019 15:44

There are loads of studies showing the benefits of male circumcision and I find the people shouting that there is no justification are using the exact same tactics as the anti-vax nut jobs.

@THEsonofaBITCH teach your children to wash, let them make the decision as adults.

THEsonofaBITCH · 21/03/2019 15:48

teach your children to wash, let them make the decision as adults
Right, you do the same with vaccines. Don't vaccinate until they are adults and let them choose. Same argument, same ignorance.

Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis · 21/03/2019 15:50

Of the men who are not circumcised for cultural or religious reasons, how many go on to be circumcised for medical reasons.

I find the “it’s ugly”, “you’ll have crap sex/be crap at sex” really unpleasant. I would suggest that your personal tastes are NOT universal truth, and the assertion of them is really unkind to any circumcised man. It doesn’t add to the discussion nor does it reflect well on the posters spouting body shaming nonsense.

celtiethree · 21/03/2019 15:52

American agencies standing behind the cultural bias towards circumcision. Many national health/paediatric health agencies hold opposing views, Canada, Australia, Germany, Britain, Finland, Iceland among others. Statements include inappropriate and unethical, violation of physical integrity.

Smotheroffive · 21/03/2019 15:53

We're bit talking vaccines, that would be you.

Wheres the justification?

Should be easy to say, but not heard any on here yet.

NunoGoncalves · 21/03/2019 15:53

Right, you do the same with vaccines. Don't vaccinate until they are adults and let them choose. Same argument, same ignorance

It's not the same. Firstly, vaccines do not involve any bodily mutilation. Secondly, any [still debated] health benefits of circumcision are irrelevant to children before they start having sex, so there is basically zero risk of waiting until they're at least that age. The same is not true of vaccines.

Smotheroffive · 21/03/2019 15:54

*We're not [talking about vaccines that would be you derailing

THEsonofaBITCH · 21/03/2019 15:56

FFS! Try on the links, try in the studies cited, try in the arguments logically presented. Can't educate stupid so I will go away now and you can continue the attacks on those who disagree because calling those who circumcise "barbaric, child mutilators who condone infanticide" as has been done here is truly the argument of the intellectual!

Disfordarkchocolate · 21/03/2019 16:00

@THEsonofaBITCH where have I mentioned vaccines? We are talking about removing a part of the body of a baby.
