I had to go out this afternoon. Before I went I said to DP that I would let him know when I was on the way home so that he could have a coffee ready for me. I called to let him know I'd be about ten minutes, thinking that he'd make it then so it would have cooled down a bit.

As I walked in he handed me the coffee straight away and, as I walked in I took a mouthful only to find it was scalding hot and I burned my mouth! I have reduced sensation in my hands and so I couldn't really tell from that. He'd literally just reboiled the kettle so it was super hot.

The thing that really annoyed me most was that he couldn't even say sorry and started accusing me of slamming doors instead. He made the mistake of reboiling the kettle but he can never accept any part of the blame for anything! AIBU?

Bloody hell husband or slave?! You sound like hard work. Even if he had made it when you rang, 10 mins early, it'd still be too hot! Not his fault you sound like a brat.

Mmmmbrekkie - No it doesn’t. The person who serves the coffee (OP) is the one who can’t say they’re sorry (because she isn’t in the wrong) and accuses the person receiving it (DH) of slamming doors. So it’s still the DH who’s behaving badly.
