Ridiculous argument with DH who is BU?

This may be the epitomy of ridiculous...

I sleep with my feet sticking out of the quilt. DH thinks this is ridiculous. It doesn’t effect him at all. They go out the side and mind their own business.

Jokingly he suggested that if someone were to come into the bedroom at night they would drag me out the bed by my feet Hmm

I suggested that surely if they wanted to drag me out the bed by my feet they could just slip their hands under the quilt anyway - so no difference?

Anyway last night around 2am DH decided to prove his point and drag me by the feet out the bed. He was laughing. I was not. I’m 27 weeks pregnant and I need my sleep!

I hit the roof, he said it was a joke and I said it was a mean thing to do, especially as I hadn’t slept well the night before. He said I would normally find it funny (maybe) and that he didn’t understand the difference between now and before I was pregnant.

I sent him to the spare room.

So who was being a twat unreasonable?

I don’t think you’ve over reacted at all OP, I would have been furious. My partner would probably do something like this & pre pregnancy (I’m 35 weeks atm) I still would have been annoyed but found the funny side later on. I don’t think I’d have found it funny whilst being pregnant & I don’t condone Violence but I probably would have kicked him in the face as a sudden reaction (especially being half asleep and more than likely confused!!)

Glad he’s apologised though.

AgentJohnson · 11/03/2019 14:18

The problem is that you appear to think that his juvenile sense of humour would adapt and clearly by him asking why your pregnancy makes a difference, he hasn’t. Congratulations, you’re having a child with a child!

In what universe would his behaviour be oK! Your hormones have nothing to do with you questioning his behaviour, it’s just an excuse you’re using to explain away your difficulty in accepting that you’re married to a child.

6 of 1 half a dozen of the other. Move on.

Can't get my head round this 'sending someone to the spare room'
My DP has never really done anything that's wound me up but I doubt he would obey a command to get to the spare room. I wouldn't oblige if he tried to banish me from my bed either.
If I was so bothered about not wanting to share the bed I would go to another room.

the OP is the pregnant one, why should she go to the spare room, she can have the comfy bed, and it's her DH who was idiotic. As he obviously knew it was a stupid thing to do, he just went.

Nothing wrong here!

Jasmineallenestate · 11/03/2019 15:05

If you were 10 years old, sleeping on a thin mattress on the floor and he was your 12 year old brother it is ok. Otherwise run like the effing wind, change your identity and buy a gun 😀

CuriousaboutSamphire · 11/03/2019 15:19

I've never ever understood the kind of humour that relies on scaring, hurting or humiliating another person. And this smacks of all 3, rolled up into one oh so fucking hilarious, look I proved my point, joke!

Pregnant or not, male, female, older, younger, that sort of shit isn't funny, it's just stupid, mortifying. childish wankery. Who would set out to embarrass the person they love?

As for sending him to the spare room, good! That sort otf 'time out' is supposed to be good for naughty children, isn't it? And it would a long cold day in hell before I let my husband straight back into bed with me if he pulled a stunt like that!

How can you ever trust someone who thinks it is fine and dandy to interrupt your sleep with such fuckery? Sorry, I am repeating myself, but I cannot believe anyone would do that, or that any posters think it is funny, acceptable!

NCforthis2019 · 11/03/2019 15:23

It isn’t funny. Time to grow up in the relationship I think. You’re about to have a baby.

Weebitawks · 11/03/2019 15:24

Why don't you give his legs a tug tonight to prove that the covers aren't going to protect you from a murderer?

ValeurNutritive · 11/03/2019 15:34

I'd have found this funny (after the initial shock).

ValeurNutritive · 11/03/2019 15:52

Incidentally, I agree with DP. Not about intruders dragging you by your feet of course, which is ridiculous, but because of the potential for monster bites.

Lweji · 11/03/2019 15:53

but because of the potential for monster bites.

Surely that's only possible after the baby is born. Monsters only hide under children's beds.

ValeurNutritive · 11/03/2019 17:33

I never claimed to be a scientist.

Yep,....having a baby means having fun must stop! Grin

Limensoda · 11/03/2019 19:30

it's none of his business where you feet are

Grin Grin

Well,.....that depends.....
