To ask who is the longest serving contributor to Mumsnet

I've lurked for ages but only fairly recently plucked up the courage to contribute. Noticed the Podcast thread about how it all started and just wondered who is the longest serving member and how many of the first contributors are still here? Might be difficult to find out I guess or maybe not, I'm no expert on these matters!

Have had two accounts. Think I started in 2002 or something not long after it started then closed account then reappeared in 2012 then just returned now. A few name changes and haven’t a clue what my first username was.

Joined in early 2004. Only one name change very early on!

Nearly 15 years, but on and off with new accounts after ditching email addresses over time. Still come back.

2008, lurked for over a year. A few name changes too.

Joined 2010. I've met a few MNers on this thread too! But started to NC regularly about 18 months ago so I guess I'm back to being 'unknown'

We've lived in this house for ten years and I was a member when we moved.

Earliest I can find is 2007 so a few years

2011 here, when I was pregnant with my first son. My then husband left me when I was 8months pregnant. I was distraught, young and afraid. People talked me through it (Anyfucker brutally so) but he was having an affair and I divorced him, he has never met his son he isn’t interested.
The support I had was amazing and really helped me get my head together and come out of it all with my head held high. I have lurked and had lots of name changes and 1 new account over the years. But I am remarried with ore children and mumsnet still is the place I come to for advice. It’s brutal at times, but im ok with that

I'm just wondering if the people who say they remember me as katy44 are actually thinking about you. I must have only been that name for a few months

I’ve always been Ivykaty44 (has various bogus hallowe’en names etc) maybe as people often drop the ivy and just call me Katy

I'm very recent (this decade), but it occurs to me that some of you might have joined MN before you had broadband at home, and definitely when your mobile phone was just a phone.

I've been here about 10 years under different names on and off. Haven't been on for a few years prior to coming back last month.

I miss Zombie.

I joined in 2009 iirc, long long before I had DD (who is now 2 and 3 months!) I was a nanny and read about it on a nanny forum, I haven't been in that forum in a very long time but I recognise another poster on this thread from it.

2004 with a 'mummy' name, got my arse handed to me for being a dick, flounced.
Back in 2005 with a not so bad mummy name.
Took my first Eve name in 2008 when I was gearing up to leaving my DH and have been channelling her ever since.

Oldest names I remember are MamaG, Misdee, iCod, LittleLapin and that era. Although I think that's more 2006/7?

Stealth, or people could be thinking of KatyMac? She was quite a prolific poster for some years.

For those who want to know how, you can find your registration number in My Mumsnet (top righthand side of the screen) under settings, I think.

Back when I joined, in 2006, there were some seriously unpleasant posters - there was a lot of 'oi, over to MSN!' calls so they could carry on their conversation privately (whilst making it clear that the rest of the posters weren't included). Although Moldies was a horrible time, MN was definitely better for it afterwards - and also because the site just got bigger.

However, one of the downsides of being bigger is the loss of things like Secret Santa and the Christmas meet-ups. I met lots of MNetters at various meet-ups, which was brilliant. MNHQ (including Justine and Carrie) used to come along to the London Christmas meet-up as well, and that was always good - a chance to put faces to names of those who are in the community team. But then, there was a real fall out over accusations that one MNetter I know had stolen money from others, and that really changed things for me. It made me realise that even though you've met people, 'socialised' with them on the forum, we never know who people really are. So that's when I pulled right back from meeting up with anyone again.

I don't think there's a big meet-up any more, unless like @Blondeshavemorefun I'm just not invited any more!

I never went to any meet-ups but have met a couple of people in real life, one at a sporting event - lovely lady 😁 and the other as they went to my local gym.

Been exactly 3 years to the day that I started posting - 9th March 2016. I did have my own name as a username for a couple of months but I realised it was far too outing as I post veeeery personal stuff.

I remember a poster called ‘Hulu’ I think it was, who used to come out with some funny one liners. They were prolific at one point.

First DC born 1998 and I came looking for help for a non sleeping baby.

Name changed twice. First time was because another rather argumentative poster took a username almost identical to mine, and I kept getting loads of flack. Took me a while to piece it together.

Have met a great group through MN but we communicate elsewhere.

17 years but lots of name changes.
