To ask who is the longest serving contributor to Mumsnet

I've lurked for ages but only fairly recently plucked up the courage to contribute. Noticed the Podcast thread about how it all started and just wondered who is the longest serving member and how many of the first contributors are still here? Might be difficult to find out I guess or maybe not, I'm no expert on these matters!

About 15 years for me.
Height of hunkermunker and tiktok and cod et al.

Then narnia happened and it went a bit weird and I left for a bit but not for long.

Have had absolutely loads of different names.

Yes absolutely. My best friend was someone I met here. We don't live near each other but we meet up occasionally. Used to Skype all day every day but now only do so occasionally as we both work. She knows more about me than anyone else except my husband, and I stood by her through so many crises, including attempted suicide. I dont think she MNs any more, at least I hope she doesn't as she would hate me saying this about her. But if she does, I love her hugely.

I went from the birth month group is was on Mumsnet with, to the Facebook group they started.

Presumably they are still there, bitching about folk that they kicked out of the group and then harassed on Facebook messenger. That's when I discovered how to block people on FB. Not a good time in my life.

However the amazing Lucinda got me through a very tough HG pregnancy. I really think I would have gone mad without her information and support. I'd love to meet her to say thanks

About 12 years as well but I name change every week.

I joined in 2006 and I have learnt a lot from MN over the years.

I name change on a regular basis, not because I say anything outlandish but because I like to feel truly anonymous

Interesting to see when someone joined in 2004 and their user number is in the 16,000s, I joined just 2 years later and mine is in the very low 50,000s.

I've made a few friends through an online game which is populated by MNetters (or former MNetters!)

I reckon I have been on at least 10 years but have de-activated my account once so my history has gone.

Oh - and my best friend from school and I were both on MN but only found out after we'd re-connected after a 30 year gap when she moved back to Scotland (via her old boyfriend who recognised my very distinctive surname, who I'd reconnected with 10 years previously when I myself joined a new company after moving back to Scotland)

13 years. Several name changes.

I’m mildly horrified at the thought that I’ll still be here in 20 years but this isn’t a habit I’ll be able to break easily. The parking threads pull me back in every time.

Can’t see exactly when I joined but I think probably 98/99, I definitely remember posting a birth report in 2000. Had the odd name change, (probably due another) when I get inklings people in rl know who I am.

11 years or so. A few re-regs between then and now.

Got to know my bestie because of a RL Mumsnet mention, and we both made the same face. Though I like to think we'd have come together somehow anyway.

Also searched back - looks like I changed my name in about August 2004.

I remember when it were all fields round here...

I joined in late 2000 though didn't post at first. The Guardian used to have a little A5 sized magazine supplement on a Friday that always included 3 websites to try, & MN was one of those once (entirely coincidental, I'm sure, that Justine's husband worked on the Guardian...) My original reg no was 3 digits but I can't log into that one now.

Justine & Carrie both used to post then just to get/keep things going. You could easily read all the threads from the last 24 hours in one go. There are a few other very early posters still here. (cod is still here occasionally - generally in Style & Beauty, in school holidays. She spells properly but her style is unique )

@RosiePosy4 it was probably 2000 as Wikipedia says the 10th birthday party was March 2010.

@pinkyyy. Yes made lots of friends on here and met a few on the drunken mn Xmas meals /meets we used to have in London
