To ask who is the longest serving contributor to Mumsnet

I've lurked for ages but only fairly recently plucked up the courage to contribute. Noticed the Podcast thread about how it all started and just wondered who is the longest serving member and how many of the first contributors are still here? Might be difficult to find out I guess or maybe not, I'm no expert on these matters!

I've been here since 2003 think my reg number was like 974. Loads of name changes but mnet has basically handheld me through most of my significant life events !

Joined in 2001 Shock Only one name change (iirc in 2003 - but can't check as I'm on the app at the moment) but have been posting under this name since then.

I thought I was/am a prolific poster (dh certainly thinks I spend too much a lot of time on here Wink) but I'm never mentioned as a poster that people remember Hmm - and I wasn't invited to join the Moldies so I definitely wasn't part of the clique Grin

I joined when my ex was pregnant and then left for a while after she lost it, that was in 2002

I've had many names since then, left and come back many times.

In 2000 I was a student so I don't think I'd even heard of Mumsnet.

I was one of the first people (in the UK anyway) on Facebook though (my job at the time was digital marketing)...!

I just remembered that I first became aware of MumsNet because I used to post on rollonfriday. In 2010 or thereabouts a bunch of RoF people did a faintly pathetic board invasion on AIBU. MUmsNetters retaliated with their own invasion of RoF and absolutely verbally wiped the floor with a bunch of sad city lawyers. It was brilliant! I then discovered that you can swear on MN and RoF was getting more and more batshit and irritating so I started work avoidinglurking here instead.

I was outed pretty quickly as I very stupidly used a similar username to my RoF username, but luckily it was someone who is a friend in real life so I changed my name pretty quickly.

Thanks for completely upstaging Roffers at their own game and rescuing me, MumsNetters!

Pinkyyy - I've made quite a few RL friends via MN and other who I now "know" virtually on FB.

A very kind MNer (and her dh) even put me, dh and cycling mad ds (11 at the time) up for 2 nights during the Olympics as the Road Cycling Race was passing very close to her house. WineGinFlowersBike

I have lurked since 2001 but only did that regularly from 2002 when I was on a different forum. Joined 2006 but I’ve had many usernames & am not really a regular. Often I spot people I know - old users from old forum or people I know IRL, even one of my neighbours. It makes me wonder if there are that many regular users! A lot of people I know are quite distinctive & I spotted them fairly early on when this place was new Grin
It’s the deaths that upset me most and stop me from associating more, but also I feel a bit “unsafe” especially since the tabloids started stealing our stories...
