metro.co.uk/2019/03/07/boy-19-sues-abortion-clinic-giving-ex-termination-wishes-8855393/

I don't even know what to say to this. I made the mistake of reading some of the comments about it on Facebook too.

Surely this can't stand up in court?

What happens if the pregnancy is endangering the woman's life?

Or the treatment she needs is incompatible with the pregnancy?

I don't think any of those who think he's right have addressed birth injuries or loss of earnings at the very minimum...

And yes, what happens if he changes his mind?! Particularly if the child is disabled.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 08/03/2019 19:15

If I’m not a feminist 🙄, then maybe I’m glad as you all seem to have the worst pregnanacies ever. You seen to get all the worst symptoms 🙄.

Erm, what? Confused being. Feminist has zero impact on how pregnancy affects you! You cant control or predict how you will be affected by pregnancy.

I love being a woman and find it easy. I wonder why it’s all so difficult for you.

😂😂😂😂

Alsohuman · 08/03/2019 19:22

If that's feminism I'm handing my card back.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 08/03/2019 19:27

BertrandRussell · 08/03/2019 19:29

She was 16. She had an abortion at 6 weeks gestation. I can think of very few situations where that is not the absolutely right thing to do. I would put money on most of us encouraging our own daughters to do the same in the same circumstances.

Yabbers · 08/03/2019 19:37

I’m glad he brought the case.

When it is taken all the way to the Supreme Court and kicked out, it will solidify the law.

If the remote possibility that Kavanaugh and his ilk vote it through, it will show them up as being unfit and there will be an absolute uproar and it will bring about a change.

They are waiting for a case to flex their muscles on when it comes to abortion. Better it is this flimsy one than a whole bunch of others that could (and may yet) happen.

I wish I had your faith in that!!

AdoraBell · 08/03/2019 19:50

Hope you are right Yabbers

blueskiesovertheforest · 08/03/2019 19:54

ThunderStorms of course it's uncommon. It's not even legal in England and Wales to permanently relinquish a baby under 6 weeks old for adoption.

Have you any idea whatsoever what you are talking about?

blueskiesovertheforest · 08/03/2019 19:57

ILoveMaxiBondi I suspect you've got that right Grin

QuirkyQuark · 08/03/2019 20:00

😂😱🤦🏻‍♀️ just making sure I'm covering all bases what did I just read with Thunder's latest post...

blueskiesovertheforest · 08/03/2019 20:07

The British Journal of Obstetrics and gynecology reported that 49% of women suffer incontinence after childbirth - 49%.

According to the same journal 24% are still experiencing pain during sex a year after giving birth, and 77% have ongoing back pain, and 41% have tears to their pelvic floor muscles.

See, this is why it’s impossible to have a decent, ordered conversation about things like this. Those of you who rush to shut down debate and rush to get in with the most cutting personal insults do nothing for your cause. Shame on you. You are too black and white with your thinking and cannot understand that there might be shades of grey.

JacquesHammer · 08/03/2019 21:12

ThunderStorms

There are no shades of grey with regards to this. There is never a situation where it’s acceptable for a male to be able to override a female with regards to body autonomy.

Either we say “final choice is the woman’s” or we reduce women to no more than incubators.

BertrandRussell · 08/03/2019 21:13

“You are too black and white with your thinking and cannot understand that there might be shades of grey.”

I don’t think there are shades of grey in this particular situation. Yes, it’s crap if the man wants to keep the baby, but it has to be the woman’s decision. It’s not fair- but it’s just how biology works.

burritofan · 08/03/2019 21:14

There are no shades of grey when it comes to what I do with my body. Some things are simply not up for debate.

DarkAtEndOfTunnel · 08/03/2019 21:19

FFS it is scary how much men hate women. Some of them absolutely cannot live with the fact that they want us, don't they. And they always want everything in life their own way. Whoever invented the phrase 'manchild' had it exactly right.

There is no shade of grey in this: men can force women into sex, then face no consequences. Women face pregnancy. Women face consequences all the time.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 08/03/2019 21:25

See, this is why it’s impossible to have a decent, ordered conversation about things like this.

It’s impossible because you don’t have the most basic grasp of biology!

BokoTheChocobo · 08/03/2019 21:37

I suspect ThunderStorms is a fourteen-year-old incel who has never even been in a relationship. Hopefully he'll grow out of the alt-right bullshit.

^ point proven. Again.

DarkAtEndOfTunnel · 08/03/2019 21:48

How? What point? All you are proving is that you are a misogynist who believes women should be men's slaves.

ThunderStorms · 08/03/2019 21:50

Nope.

randomchap · 08/03/2019 21:51

ThunderStorms has done really well derailing this thread so now we're talking about his/her posts rather than the situation in Alabama. Just ignore the troll.

ThunderStorms · 08/03/2019 21:57

I have been answering questions aimed directly at me. Had I not, I would have had other accusations directed at me (post and run etc]. I am allowed to justify my opinion. I have had numerous personal insults thrown my way, should I not be able to address these? If you don’t want me to post, stop asking me questions directly and stop throwing personal insults my way.
