To be shocked BREXIT is going to affect cancer treatment?

cantbearsed1 · 06/03/2019 07:49

Just listening to the BBC radio news and they were interviewing an oncologist who said that because of worries about getting hold of enough isotopes straight after BREXIT, Drs have been advised by the Government to book less people into their clinics for both diagnosis and treatment.
This will mean longer waits for diagnosis and treatment from some patients. I was taken aback that such a serious medical issue is being affected.

Even if Maidenhead voted for May with the implication that she will be PM (and that has only happened in the last general election), the rest of the country didn't.
It would be quite interesting if there were two separate elections: one for MPs and the other for PM.

PestyMachtubernahme · 06/03/2019 16:14

Sparkly you are a very naughty girl, how dare you teach DD critical thinking skills and expressing feelings to her family. How are you going to marry her off if you continue this?

mcnaughtyf · 06/03/2019 16:15

CordeliaEarhart

No - let me join in with your remoaner ifs and buts to explain here. So IF the export of malt barley is affected then farmers MIGHT change their crops to suit this shift in supply and demand. Its not going to happen though because yet again its all a big story made up to fool the silly remoaners.

FishesaPlenty · 06/03/2019 16:15

Or, how about this idea - supply and demand, the farmers grow a different crop.

That's probably a bit difficult to do for anything they're planning to sell before July 2020. What should they do with the stuff they're growing at the moment that they've got no market for? And the stuff already in their grain stores?

Barley was just a particular example anyway, the same applies to anything we export.

PestyMachtubernahme · 06/03/2019 16:18

I think barley is our second biggest crop, because it grows in our climate.

Lweji · 06/03/2019 16:18

That's probably a bit difficult to do for anything they're planning to sell before July 2020.

Clearly, they should have planed it well in advance. You know... it's been 2 years since Article 50. Again, oh, the irony.

Lweji · 06/03/2019 16:19

Excuse stupid typos.

mcnaughtyf · 06/03/2019 16:21

MamaLovesMango

people are going to die as a result of a no deal Brexit.

Oh come on - please! Can we please stick to facts - you lot should all become professional story tellers. I for one am not crying about having my feelinz hurt, boo hoo. I am proud and delighted we are still on track to leave and funnily enough so are more than half the population! Go and join my welsh friend and have a good cry in the corner. "Why oh why" LOL.

SparklySneakers · 06/03/2019 16:22

@PestyMachtubernahme I know! I'm such a bad (single) mother! I'm actually very proud of my critically thinking daughters. One is 10, one is 12, and both are feminists who care deeply for people, believe in fairness, want to help others, are animal lovers, and don't believe you can change sex. Lock me up now Grin P.S. I feed them sugar too Shock

mcnaughtyf · 06/03/2019 16:27

FishesaPlenty

What about anything we import - are we going to end up paying more to get it into the country? I do believe you need to review your business model. Trade goes BOTH ways. What we sell they want to buy and what we want they want to sell. If the EU companies don't want to buy our goods then we sell them to someone else.

You might have missed the Geography lesson but there are quite a few African countries that don't grow fields of barley very well in their climate. Oh and before you pick that to pieces, that is just an example. Please, remove the blinkers and move on by.

Lweji · 06/03/2019 16:27

funnily enough so are more than half the population

That's not what the polls say...

Poll: Support for staying in EU at highest level since referendum
56 percent of Brits say they would choose to remain in EU.

www.politico.eu/article/brexit-uk-poll-support-for-staying-in-eu-at-highest-level-since-referendum/

Britain leaving the EU without any deal: 54% bad outcome; 32% bad outcome or acceptable compromise.

FishesaPlenty · 06/03/2019 16:31

I'm sure that if there were African countries willing and able to buy our grain at the sort of prices we can sell it to the Belgians for then that would be a perfect solution.

I do wonder why they're not already buying it from us though, if it's that simple.

are we going to end up paying more to get it into the country?

Duh. Yes.

MamaLovesMango · 06/03/2019 16:31

Can we please stick to facts

Well someone can’t read...
This wacko is just a bit embarrassing really.

ivykaty44 · 06/03/2019 16:33

Who do these countries purchase barley from presently?

PestyMachtubernahme · 06/03/2019 16:35

Fact 37% of those entitled to vote is not more than half the population

Defining your variables is essential.

SparklySneakers · 06/03/2019 16:37

Can we please stick to facts

Leavers don't like facts. Or research. Or expert opinion. They like unicorns, pixies, fairies and faith in your country.

MamaLovesMango · 06/03/2019 16:38

May I present to you mcnaughtyf...

Fanfair please....

www.google.com

I give to you the internet! And facts! Facts galore! Start with The Royal College of Radiologists Brexit in the search bar. It’ll bring up the 5 page (I know very long) document with all the facts (sorry about the big words).

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 06/03/2019 16:38

You're barely keeping a lid on your rage.

That might be a nice inscription for your headstone, mcnaughtyf.

I think you'll find that they'll sell and buy from someone else more easily. In part because they already have those trade agreements in place. Unlike the UK, who have to start trade deals with all those countries from scratch. And that includes other European countries not in the EU, the US, etc.

I'm here struggling to think of exclusive products from the UK that are so desirable to other countries.

mcnaughtyf · 06/03/2019 16:54

Oh god you've got to stop - my sides are hurting again! LOL Is that the same poll or multiple polls nay every poll that said Brexit was going to lose. Oh please come on. Pull the other one its got bells on it.

mcnaughtyf · 06/03/2019 16:56

Err malt barley exports - so we need the EU do we?

What facts are you referring to Mango? Pray please enlighten us to these remoaner facts as I am yet to see any on here. Perhaps I have missed something - oh I do apologise - please repeat.

Lweji · 06/03/2019 16:59

Actually, the polls close to the referendum said that it was very close, with an upward trend for Brexit leading up to the date. They were not wrong.
