To be shocked BREXIT is going to affect cancer treatment?

cantbearsed1 · 06/03/2019 07:49

Just listening to the BBC radio news and they were interviewing an oncologist who said that because of worries about getting hold of enough isotopes straight after BREXIT, Drs have been advised by the Government to book less people into their clinics for both diagnosis and treatment.
This will mean longer waits for diagnosis and treatment from some patients. I was taken aback that such a serious medical issue is being affected.

MN you need to get with times and add a facepalm emoji. Here lies the stupids.

(Yes! S-T-U-P-I-D cry me a fucking river)

JacquesHammer · 06/03/2019 15:24

I actually reduced a Welshman to tears a couple of new years ago. Granted he was extremely pissed but he actually cried real tears and wailed "why!" "why did you vote to leave". I'm still laughing about that idiot to this day

On today’s episode of Things that Never Happened...

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 06/03/2019 15:24

I'm still laughing about that idiot to this day.

You're an idiot and I'm laughing at you today.

So that's a nice bit of symmetry Smile

Factual statement? Please, my sides are starting to hurt now! Show me where this is actually happening.

Nothing terrible is going to happen - trade goes both ways - someone above started spouting off about barley trade - bullshit! We import more barley than we export. So the EU countries are going to stop trading with us? About as likely as the planes are going to fall out of the sky and the medicines from all those multi billion pound pharms who are going to stop trading with our quite frankly enormous NHS. Oh no NHS we dont want any of your money now you have left the club

And Leavers are upset for being called dim?

EU countries won't stop trading, and don't want to. Pharma won't stop selling to the UK and don't want to. Nobody but the UK wanted Brexit.
But the UK will implement border control and tariffs that work both ways too.
What people are worried about is the delay in getting medicine across the borders because trade won't be covered by facilitating deals.
The amount of bureaucracy required will make trade more difficult and slower. And tariffs (that apply to non-EU or non-trade agreement countries) will apply, making trade more expensive.

Eventually, trade will be resumed, but it will be too late for those affected by shortages over at least a few months. It could be cancer patients dying, farmers going out of business. Nice.

BorisBogtrotter · 06/03/2019 15:27

Again with the strawman on Spanish citizens, its an exact application of the term btw.

People have stated that those that voted leave in Spain might find life more difficult.

As it is we haven't guaranteed reciprocal health for Spanish citizens so at this point in time pensioners in Spain might find their access to healthcare curtailed and have to return.

This is not "getting kicked out".

BorisBogtrotter · 06/03/2019 15:29

The strawman arguments are also present in things like this "So the EU countries are going to stop trading with us? "

No one has said that, but if you present this argument its easy to destroy it.

It isn't accurate.

Nobody but the UK wanted Brexit. - LOL no shit Shurlock.

I think the EU bullies have made that crystal clear eh? And you want to stay in their club. Come on, wake up. Stop crying about what is going to happen and stop making up stories about what might not happen. There is absolutely no proof that any of this crap you spout is true. I'll buy you some worry beads if you promise to stop making up stories.

BorisBogtrotter · 06/03/2019 15:32

"I think the EU bullies have made that crystal clear eh?"

How have the EU bullied the UK. Please give examples.

doIreallyneedto · 06/03/2019 15:32

@mcnaughtyf - No more EU rules and regulations.

I know. Things like the right to paid holidays, limits on working hours, maternity rights, anti-discrimination laws, health and safety in the workplace, food safety, product safety standards, consumer rights......

They're really all such a nuisance and should be abolished immediately.

Actually, I am staying in their club. Wink

I'm curious. Why are the EU bullies?

Peregrina · 06/03/2019 15:33

People have stated that those that voted leave in Spain might find life more difficult.

And we still don't know whether their state pensions will continue to be uprated or not.

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 06/03/2019 15:35

I'm curious. Why are the EU bullies?

Because Nigel Farage told them so.

Lweji · 06/03/2019 15:36

The Farage guy who got a salary from the EU?

That's the fella. The same fella who'll also enjoy a nice fat pension from the EU.

mcnaughtyf · 06/03/2019 15:39

Motheroffourdragons

BBC Link - second word 'likely'
Scientists for EU - this took a bit longer - 7th para 'and may result'
Wired - bit quicker - 3rd para 'if they are held up'

Need I go on? Please show me an article which says any of this is going to happen. As was stated above, do you seriously think that medicine of any kind is going to get held up by EU bureaucrats because it would be them that stops this free movement and no one else.

LaurieMarlow · 06/03/2019 15:39

The same fella who'll also enjoy a nice fat pension from the EU.

And whose family have all applied for German citizenship

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 06/03/2019 15:39

You are a very bad influence on her, and need to look long and hard at your parenting manner

Bwahaha

Her 10 year old sounds more clued up than some on this thread.

Lweji · 06/03/2019 15:41

It looks like he's not done with the EU yet. Oh, the irony.

Nigel Farage might run for European Parliament again

It's not them. It's the UK with their new bright and shiny hard borders.

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 06/03/2019 15:43

Nope. Definitely clued up.

p.s 'I feel sorry for your kidz' is always the last resort of someone who has no decent argument to make.
