Just seen a Fail article about 6'7 Richard Osman and his 5'2 girlfriend. Worthy of many pictures and comments.
I'm just under 5'0 and partner is 6'2. So not a dissimilar height difference. Am a worthy of a Fail article? (And not to mention all the vile comments that came with about her not having to go on her knees etc)

OP posts:
Lungelady · 23/02/2019 17:54

I am six feet tall...dh is 5 feet 8.
No issues here.

AJPTaylor · 23/02/2019 17:55

I am 5 1, dh is 6 3.
Couldn't care less what anyone thinks

Thurmanmurman · 23/02/2019 18:04

In response to. PP asking about DCs height. My 2 DC are very average height for their ages (6 & 8). I suspect they will both be taller than me but not really tall like DH. My theory is that I cancel out the tallness! Totally scientific obviously 🤣

bringmethehorizonx · 23/02/2019 18:19

I'm 5ft and he is 5'10"

alwayslearning789 · 23/02/2019 18:39

Lucky for you guys at least you have it the right way round!

I'm always the taller one.... hate it....

Lungelady · 23/02/2019 19:01

Anyone who comments on a disparity in height is a knob.
Especially when the woman is taller.

BrizzleMint · 23/02/2019 19:05

I was 4 inches taller than my ex, he felt very inferior Grin

thecatsthecats · 23/02/2019 19:50

Both 5'9". Also met in a hilly university city, so I haven't bothered with heels in years.

greendale17 · 23/02/2019 19:52

People notice more when a man is shorter than the woman

PeppermintCactus · 23/02/2019 19:56

I'm 5 foot 2 And DH is 6 foot 5. I notice it on photos and it isn't easy to kiss standing up. He also puts things on high shelves and forgets, even after 18 years, that I wont be able to reach them!

We have two sons. They're primary aged still but one is tall like him (& will definitely be taller than me by 9ish), the other is more average height.

thesnapandfartisinfallible · 23/02/2019 20:01

I agree about it being perfect for cuddles. I don't actually know either of our heights but it works out that my face comes up to about armpit level.

CheshireChat · 23/02/2019 20:04

5'1 and 6'4. I notice it when he puts stuff like the toilet paper in places where even on a chair I'd struggle to get to it!

Kid is only 4, but was on the 96th centile last time I checked, everyone is very surprised to find out his age when they see him with me.

I can already pinch his bigger socks and there's only a few shoe sizes difference.

Katgurl · 23/02/2019 20:12

We are both hovering around 5"7; I'm a little taller than him and wear heels. It doesn't bother either of us at all, possibly because he has a very manly muscular build while I am naturally curvy. Or maybe body type is irrelevant and it just doesn't bother us because why should it.

Kpo58 · 23/02/2019 20:25

I hate how tall men always seem to go for tiny women. It really hard for us tall women to find a same height or taller man. Sad

lyralalala · 23/02/2019 20:30

I’m 5’2 and DH is 6’7. We got a lot of comments in the beginning, but people are bored of it and don’t bother now. It was more funny comments than anything serious. My best mate is 6’ and her boyfriend is 5’5 and they get a lot of negative comments from people.

Dogmum94 · 23/02/2019 20:32

I’m 5ft4 DP is 6ft6, a few people comment every now and then but mainly he just finds it hilarious that he can rest his arm on my shoulder when we’re stood next to each other!

fatpatsthong · 23/02/2019 20:38

I'm 5 3 and dh is 6 4. This causes much hilarity in his family as they are all tall (my 75 year old mil is 6 1). Dd1 is following in their footsteps - tallest girl in her class in y4 and almost as tall as my mum....

I love it tbh. We fit together nicely and I love feeling totally protected by him - he makes me feel very safe. He likes it too for similar reasons. I've always liked tall boys tbh and when I had shorter boyfriends I missed the height.

Our main bone of contention is walking speed. There is a foot difference in leg length ffs and this causes rows/gives me a good cardio workout

fatpatsthong · 23/02/2019 20:41

Ohhhh - one negative is that we've never managed sex standing up.

Horizontally not an issue

Hushabyelullaby · 23/02/2019 20:47

My friend is 4ft 10 and her DH is 6ft 3!

YahBasic · 23/02/2019 20:53

There’s a foot between my parents . BIL and SIL have just over a foot difference.

There is about 5 inches between DH and I which I think is spot on. He’s 6’2 and I’m 5’9.

DH has never gone for short women, so worked out well for me Grin

tor8181 · 23/02/2019 20:56

im 5ft 10 hes 5ft 6 im also 6 stone more than him and have feet 4 sized bigger(hes a 8 im a 12)

ive always prefered shorter men but hes been my only ever boyfriend(got together at 17 and 18)

boys are very big for their age though and have been since birth
8y old 5ft 1,born 27 inches
14 y old 6ft1 born 28 inches
bio grandad is 6ft 10 though

onwardsagain19 · 23/02/2019 21:08

I'm 6ft and my husband is 6ft6 we get a lot of comments especially when I wear heels and teeter alongside him at 6ft4. People seem to find it pretty odd.

I did date someone who was 7ft2 which given my height was an impressive difference that received a a huge amount of attention.

Sproutsandall · 23/02/2019 21:11

Like @Lungelady, I’m 5’11 and DP is 5’8. We’re cool with it. Except he sometimes refers to himself as tall (we live in a Southern European country, so he is relatively) and I’m like, «No, DP, just no.» Grin

Emilydickensonsdogs · 23/02/2019 21:15

As a tall women I’ve never dated a very tall man. My DH is similar height to me. I think there should be a law banning tall men from dating short women; us tall women need them! 😂 All the very tall men in my family are married to or are dating petite women. Best thing come in small packages...damn.

HundredMilesAnHour · 23/02/2019 21:22

My ex was 6'7 and I'm 5'9. He was very weary of having to look down at women/short people all the time and used to love it when I wore heels and could put my head on his shoulder when dancing.

I used to be a rower and the male rowers considered 6 foot to be 'short'. I would tend to agree with them.
