Saw this today and immediately thought of all the arguments on here over the years about washing towels, bed sheets and the horror of toilet brushes! Grin

I'm definitely more dirty than the cleaners verdicts!

Or maybe i’ll buy a Tumble drier Wink

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:37

Oh yawn.

I asked God, hes fine with it. Think he might be a bit distracted with rapists and murderers tbh.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:38

What do you think your god thinks of the excess hoarding of wealth in the Catholic Church? Or the oppression of women? Or the murdering and abuse of children. All in “his” name?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:39

Cannot believe someone is actually bringing “god” into this to try and guilt me into using a towel twice.

Hermano · 21/02/2019 21:44

I'm not a Christian and think Christianity and the things you mentioned are disgusting.

I just find it interesting how many people who consider themselves moral and godly choose to ignore all the good aspects of Christianity when it suits them. Ie Christians who are conservative etc

I find bringing jesus up as a mirror to reflect on people's own morals can be a useful way of shaming them into admitting they're selfish.

I assume you're not a christian so my question wasn't aimed at you

I find it hard to believe you have any kind of moral code given your answers and your sheer disregard for the planet, and I'm not going to engage with you any further

CoffeeCoffeeTea · 21/02/2019 21:46

This thread has made me feel so guilty, I do not wash towels after one use, I do not change bed sheets after one use, time wise it would not be feasible.
All laundry is done on Saturday, ironed on Sunday.
Yes there can be accidents where sheets//towels need to be changed , but I would never plan to change everyday. I'm amazed anyone can , but maybe I'm lazy and when I'm home from work I'm spending far too much time on mumsnet rather than changing sheets and towels.
And for those who have asked an airing cupboard is a hot press.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:46

😂😂😂

What the hell. Is this the twilight zone? A non Christian rolls onto a thread and asks people to pray to a god they themselves don’t believe in to guilt them into behaving the way they want them to.

And apparently using fresh towels means no moral code. Honestly. Take a break. Give yourself a day off.

teyem · 21/02/2019 21:47

If a towel fails the sniff test it goes in the wash. That's a good week.

LightAsTheBreeze · 21/02/2019 21:47

Yes a tumble dryer is a good idea or else you just have to have extra heating on to counteract the damp and having to have all the windows wide open which isn’t really energy saving.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:48

Hermano I guarantee you I woudnt need to delve too far into your lifestyle to find plenty of selfish eco crimes. You won’t admit that of course. But god can see you Wink

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:50

Yes a tumble dryer is a good idea

Really? On this thread. Brave Grin

Hermano · 21/02/2019 21:51

Question was to Christians asking how they square wasteful behaviour with their own moral code. And suggesting they think on it again if they think their god would be approving of waste.

I'm no Christian but I've read and discussed a lot about it and I'm pretty clear the book of rules doesn't approve of wasting natural resources all over the place

No conflict there as far as I'm concerned.

I don't live by those rules, but my own non religious moral code which so happen to overlap in this and some other regards

It was a genuine question trying to understand how a Christian reconciles two very different viewpoints

Bluntness100 · 21/02/2019 21:57

Weekly washing and big fluffy bath towels for me. Sounds a bit miserable having to dry yourself on scratchy hand towels and wash them daily but....

AIBU to say the washing sheets/towels and toilet brushes argument may have been solved...?
LightAsTheBreeze · 21/02/2019 21:57

A tumble dryer is a good idea because constantly hanging wet washing around the house can cause mould spores so if you insist on doing lots of washing you should make sure you dry it properly, no point in having daily fresh towels if the house is damp and maybe got hidden mould

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:58

Why just Christians? Confused why not Muslims? Or Hindus?

How very odd you are.

ChesterGreySideboard · 21/02/2019 21:58

Does the bible mention the frequency to towel washing?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 21:59

Well the house isn’t damp and the washing is dried properly. You can now sleep well knowing I will see the morning.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 22:00

Is this the same bible that advises killing your son and raping your house servants?

Tonsilss · 21/02/2019 22:10

Wow, some real nutters on this thread. Teenagers only allowed hand towels, with a parent neurotically obsessed with cleanliness. Washing a towel once every fortnight or so is plenty.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 22:14

Nutter.
Neurotically obsessed with cleanliness.

Because I give my childbren a clean towel daily. Wow.

Do some of you people realise how nasty and offensive you’re being?

MammaSchwifty · 21/02/2019 22:15

This thread has made me feel so guilty, I do not wash towels after one use, I do not change bed sheets after one use

Whut? You feel guilty about not squandering resources? Ok then...

This thread has taken a turn for the marvellously bizarre since God was brought into it. And I'm sorry for some of the abuse maxi has come in for. You may wash your towels daily, but at least they're teeny weeny Wink, some below the belt digs on here.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/02/2019 22:21

Yes it’s gone seriously weird.

And no, of course you shouldn’t feel guilty for washing your towels or bedsheets less than daily. Why would you? You do it according to how it suits your family.

I’m off to bed. I have to get up early to make appointments with my GP, a counsellor, therapists for my kids and some sort of preacher. Possibly a mould specialist too.

IncrediblySadToo · 21/02/2019 22:22

I wash towels after every use

and what about the planet?

I’d give it a go, but I think my machine is just a little too small 🤔

OlennasWimple · 21/02/2019 22:25

This is one of the weirder MN laundry threads I've read...

Maybe we need a laundry ticker tape thingy like they have in the Other Place for their bubs and bumps

OlennasWimple
Washes towels when they smell except for beach towels and towels used after swimming, which are washed that day otherwise they get minging very quickly. Everything is line dried
Changes bedding every week. Loves a fresh bed, but thinks it's incredibly wasteful to wash it more frequently, except when the occupant is ill
Uses a loo brush but replaces it frequently

IncrediblySadToo · 21/02/2019 22:28

🤣

Night. I hope you sleep ok with all of that weighing so heavily in your mind

😂🤣 you’re a star ⭐️ sleep well!
