AIBU to ask you to explain missing ironing board

Hi,

This may seem trivial to some but it has totally freaked me out to the extent I am spending the night with friends. Please help me see reason!

Yesterday, I had a meeting which required a more formal outfit that was nice and crisp. I have an ironing board which is rarely used but ha ALWAYS been placed in the coat cupboard in my corridor by the front door. However, when I went to retrieve it yesterday it was NOWHERE TO BE SEEN. I am disturbed as I can come up with no logical explanation as to why it was missing. The last time I used it was 3 ish weeks ago.

• I live on my own in C. London
• My visitors arrive on foot, tube etc
• I would notice if they walked off with the ironing board- it is 100% not in the flat.
• Why steal a rarely used ironing board

-I live in a secure building with the concierge (until 7 pm)

AIBU to ask you to please explain this. I'm really unnerved. Am I crazy? What would your natural reaction to this be?

I found a vegetable peeler that DH and I have never seen before sitting in the cutlery drawer, bold as a plastic and metal thing. It made me think of the ironing board. I still firmly believe it's sitting in a confused neighbour's cupboard.

Maybe your ironing board has run off with my glasses. Last seen a few weeks ago. Went to get them to give my eyes a rest from contact lenses and gone! I did find another pair though that work better for my eyes... weird. I live alone.

I need an update!!! I'm way to invested. Has OP disappeared because she found it?! Where the hell was it???

I found a pair of grey sparkly socks in my sock drawer today, never seen them before. Slightly freaked out by this, it's worse than random missing things

This happened to my gran! She hunted high and low. Even looked in drawers. Damned thing never turned up.

@calpop what happened about your holiday with no passport??

In those days you could get an emergency appt at the passport office in London so the next day I went in, waited hours to report it stolen and eventually got a new one at the end of the day. I then flew out to join my partner on holiday the next day, so 2 days late and missed 2 days of the holiday. I was pretty pissed off - and tired with jetlag as it meant I was only there for a few days.

Still no sign of it. Annoyingly I actually needed it yesterday for my skirt.

This happened to me once with my phone. THREE HOURS I searched my tiny bare house. Re-traced my steps. Looked in cupboards, washing machine etc. Was so confused. Barely slept a wink thinking where it could be

Went to the bathroom in the morning (after no sleep pretty much) turned around and for some reason I'd put the phone on the top of the stairs on the bannister square I have no idea why I'd put it there. It was face down aswell (and on silent) Doh

Are there any cupboards with flat space above them hidden by cornicing?

I just found something I lost packing two years ago in the shed that I would have sworn blind didn't go in with the things I put it with.

Couple of thick towels on a flat surface is usually ok for a temporary ironing board.

It's gone to the same place as my missing pg test. It vanished before my very eyes. Fell off the worktop in bathroom - went to pick it up....got nail under it and it flicked and then....vanished. Totally gone. My lips is clearly a portal to a parallel universe . It must have flicked underneath the fitted units because it sure as hell isnt anywhere else.

I lost a load of underwear once. Looked everywhere. Nowhere to be found.
Months pass and it's coming up to Christmas. Time to decorate the tree...... And there they are.. Bras and knickers a mixed up with the tinsel

I'm sorry to say but it's my younger cat who took it. He knows how to open cupboards and wardrobes and always goes in and does something with a iron or the board. I'll buy you a replacement and post it.
