Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

Scrap that, I was responding to the old photos without reading the entire thread. The update looks bloody great, well done!

NotReadyForThisX2 · 05/05/2019 21:10

It's gorgeous Op! The paint colour and shutter make such a difference. That first paint colour just wasn't right but it's hard to tell until you've finished a room sometimes.
So glad you're happy with it now.

Plants!

BellMcEnd · 05/05/2019 21:23

I think your bathroom is perfect. IMO it’s such a good idea to have a really plain classic design for the big budget house jobs like kitchens and bathrooms. We did our kitchen earlier this year - it’s a completely plain, traditional white shaker style with oak work surfaces. We’ve currently got grey walls with grey patterned blinds. It’s so calm and lovely. In a few years we can change the wall colour and blinds really easily to totally update the kitchen pretty cheaply. My friend went for a high impact high gloss navy kitchen with aubergine glass splash backs. It looks stunning now but I wonder if she’ll still love it in 5 years......?

sawyersfishbiscuits · 05/05/2019 21:32

I think it needs some wood in there... maybe a wooden bath mat thingy. Wooden accessories and some green in there too...sorry not very specific but something naturey...

Big fluffy towels rolled up in a box attached to the wall?

Artwork too?

sawyersfishbiscuits · 05/05/2019 21:33

Whoops! Apologies for not RTWT!!!

It didn't load!!!

Lilacks · 05/05/2019 21:40

Great update Op, it looks super. So pleased you’re now happy with it!

WheelyCote · 05/05/2019 21:42

Oooo like it

PutyourtoponTrevor · 05/05/2019 22:14

Much better but I think a wooden blind the same colour as your floor would bring it all together, the window still looks a bit unfinished

PutyourtoponTrevor · 05/05/2019 22:15

And a different colour bath mat...yellow would work well with the grey and the floor

TheRhythmessMan · 05/05/2019 22:15

So inspiring op. Great update!!! Looks fab!

callmeadoctor · 06/05/2019 11:26

Yep, lovely much better x Maybe change the blinds to wooden to match floor when you fancy a change. Plus one of these on the bath?

callmeadoctor · 06/05/2019 11:27

(They do the bath caddy in a darker wood to match floor x)

puppylovebaby · 06/05/2019 11:28

It's gorgeous. Once the towels and a blind are up it will feel softer. I personally don't like lots of colour in a bathroom, I love white towels!

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 06/05/2019 11:31

Thanks all :-)

Wow what an improvement! You've done a great job.
I'm not feeling the hanging plant over the edge of the shelf though I'm afraid. It really draws the eye first and distracts from and spoils lots of other lovely things you have in there. I'd put a standard plant there instead.

TheRhythmessMan · 12/05/2019 09:40

It looks really fantastic but the mat bothers me for some reason. Maybe a mat with a pattern like this one?

SherlockHolmes · 12/05/2019 09:45

Can't see the walls very well but they ook magnolia, which I think is your problem. Go for a colour, as it all looks too neutral. Look at Farrow and Ball colours, as they have nice tones to them (then get them mixed by dulux as it's cheaper Grin)

makingmammaries · 12/05/2019 11:45

Yep, it’s the wall colour. Also, couldn’t you tile it fully? Much less mess in the long run.

makingmammaries · 12/05/2019 11:46

also, intersperse some patterned tiles

TheRhythmessMan · 12/05/2019 19:33

Note the fab update below peoples! Grin

turningback · 15/05/2019 18:54
