Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

The change in colour makes such a huge difference. It looks lovely and modern.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/05/2019 22:38

It's gorgeous. But needs Some colour.

TBDO · 04/05/2019 22:41

I think oak frames would look good either side of the window, get DH to put them up! The wall colour is a good neutral - the shelves and frames will help warm it up and personalise it.

I like the sound of the bath wine holder too Smile

ittakes2 · 04/05/2019 22:44

I like the repainted walls and the blind! I didn't the old colour. I think it looks really nice. Don't make it too busy by adding other things!

kateandme · 05/05/2019 08:34

i think it looks nice.very calming.im not sure how to do it.be it a coloured flannel or pop of colour in wall art.but im torn between it being so lovely and tranquil as it is and needing a pop od colour somewhere.so you might have to test that for yourself.
id leave it now though.you sound really very happy with it and thats great.im so glad you do.you sounded so down about it last month.
well done you.annever mind any further critics if you like it you like it its going to come down to personal taste now youve changed it.
loos great!

Hoppahouse · 05/05/2019 09:25

Updated bathroom is lovely! Well done. A change of colour was all it needed!

riverislands · 05/05/2019 10:00

It needs a picture or something above the loo.

AnnieMay100 · 05/05/2019 10:08

I think it looks lovely! A few plants and hanging something on the wall above the toilet will finish it off nicely

dellacucina · 05/05/2019 10:10

It looks way better now, well done. I would worry that artwork on either side of the window would be too much.

maidenover · 05/05/2019 11:02

Update looks great, it’s amazing how much difference the right tone of wall colour can make. Hope you can now enjoy your new bathroom Smile

LongOrShort · 05/05/2019 11:53

What a transformation, you must be really pleased with those results, I don't see how the colours can be improved now at all.

As soon as you're ready to start receiving guests do let me know!

mummyhaschangedhername · 05/05/2019 12:05

Oh yes, I can see it now. You must be really pleased with how it's turned out!

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 05/05/2019 20:19

Final update on its way soon!

Walls should be a statement colour to contrast the tiles. The magnolia/cream is doing it no favours.
This.
I would go for a cool industrial grey myself, and a corner wall shelf with a big plant in a funky pot for softness.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 05/05/2019 20:31

Obv didn't read to the end, sorry! Looks stunning OP.

WhenIsTheEasyBit · 05/05/2019 20:33

I would carry the tiles on behind the loo to the shower screen. Then a contrast colour above. Maybe a teal?

Martyscones · 05/05/2019 20:37

It will look much better once you get some colour and personal items in there , it’s a lovely bathroom but needs personality xx

Comefromaway · 05/05/2019 20:39

It needs colour I agree. We’ve got bright teal towels and mats which look lovely.

We just had our bathroom redone too

I would definitely say tiles all the way up the wall with a border (we went for black and silver so that we are not tied to a colour for the towels etc. I also am not fond of the colour floor. We have similar in our en suite but a much lighter colour.

Comefromaway · 05/05/2019 20:44

It looks much brighter in real life but these towels are a nice colour.

Looks so much more inviting now! Great job 🤩

QueenOfPain · 05/05/2019 21:02

The tiles on behind the bath and sink are both extremely cool colours and yet the flooring and wall paint colour are very warm. I think that’s part of why it doesn’t look quite right.

I don’t know what can be done about that, I think putting a warm colour on the walls is still going to be at odds with the tiles, but using a cool toned paint is going to be at odds with the flooring.
