Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

Ooh exciting!

GlitterPixie · 04/05/2019 21:27

The paint colour doesn’t go with the floor and I think the tiles look odd. It might look better with a few more touches to make it look less bare

GlitterPixie · 04/05/2019 21:29

Duh I didn’t see the previous 34 pages of the thread somehow Blush glad your happy with it now

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 04/05/2019 21:32

We have a set of 3 oak cube shelves going above the toilet which will have things in, but it looks a lot less bare now than it did and the cooler toned walls are a lot better!
I don't think the pic does it justice as it still looks quite bare but it really is nicer now IRL

Wow I’d love that bathroom ! Well done 👏👏

TBDO · 04/05/2019 21:36

Glad you updated. Looks so much nicer and the shelves will make it look warmer too

TBDO · 04/05/2019 21:37

I’d put some artwork up either side of the window too, will make it look more personal

awalkintheparka · 04/05/2019 21:37

It's too clinical. The wall colour is wrong. Tiles are great. I would add more colours or drastic colour change. The cream doesn't work. Other wise all the features are great. You just need one thing to pull it all together. Colour and texture

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 04/05/2019 21:39

Tbdo really, I actually bought 2 oak frames today for either side of the window as I think the same but I've stopped dh putting them up as was worried it'd look too busy! But looking at this pic I think your right

I don’t think the blind really works.

Personally I’d add some colour, some tiling maybe.

awalkintheparka · 04/05/2019 21:40

Saw update- much better. I would still consider tiling all the walls (personal preference)

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 04/05/2019 21:40

@awalkintheparka, updated pic above without the cream walls :)

I would have gone with a strong colour on the walls, as it looks quite clinical. The oak cube shelves will look nice, although it still looks quite bare elsewhere. Some art and plants will improve it. The art will add more interest and colour, and the plants will soften the lines, if you include some trailing plants. But I'm glad you're happy with it now, that's the important thing. Smile

Thanks for updating.

itsnotmyparty · 04/05/2019 21:49

Because it's magnolia

mummyhaschangedhername · 04/05/2019 21:52

Thanks for the update. Looks much nicer. I would personally have gone grey with those tiles but I know a lot of MNers don't like grey. It looks lovely though be proud of your hard work.

strawberrypenguin · 04/05/2019 21:55

It's lovely! Just needs a bit of colour I think.

MamaBear0307 · 04/05/2019 21:59

It’s really nice but maybe some shutters at the window and a porthole mirror for wall deco.
We did both in our bathroom and it looks fab
You’ve got a lovely bathroom and great starting point it’s just a bit bare right now

MamaBear0307 · 04/05/2019 22:00

Sorry I saw your first pic, didn’t see the updated one ! :-)

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 04/05/2019 22:00

Thanks everyone

@mummyhaschangedhername it's grey but a very soft grey now, you can just see it against the white ceiling.
Much better than the magnolia.
Will get some more green tones and dark wood in there
Have also bought an oak over bath board (wine and book holder thing) but dh thinks it's a waste of money Blush

OP, I remember you posting this the first time. The walls look much better now! They match the tiles better, too. Everything else is personal taste, but I think you've improved it enormously. If you wanted to add some more 'natural' elements, you could (eg) add a wooden loo seat - but if you're happy with it now, then just enjoy your lovely space!

Bringbackthestripes · 04/05/2019 22:14

I remember the original post. The addition of a blind and the towel rack are fine but the re painted colour actually makes it look colder but, at the end of the day, if you are happier with it that is what is important.

Ferii · 04/05/2019 22:17

Its really nice, just needs some colour on the walls, nice big plant between loo and the shower and a lovely textured, luxurious bath mat on the floor.

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 04/05/2019 22:19

Ah yes, I forgot a floor plant! You may get another pic update tomorrow now as I think that's what's lacking

What a big difference. You must be so pleased.
