Twat face next door

I suspect I am bu but I’m raging lol.

6 months ago our lovely neighbour moved onto a retirement home. He sold his house to a family. A week after they moved in the woman drove into my wall and knocked a concreate post over. She didn’t come and tell me just proped it up against the wall. I went to ask what happened, she apologised and said she’s not used to such a narrow drive and will get DH to fix. I said fair enough but please come tell me as children walk in the wall (mine and others in the street) and it will be dangerous if the pillar is loose and we don’t know. 6 months later still not fixed even though we’ve reminded the husband a few times.

3x a week young son (year 6) is driven home by a friends parents. Mother is never home on time. He’s left knocking on the door. Sometimes in the rain. I politely said I don’t think your mums home yet, he called me a bitch. I mentioned this to mum when I saw her last week. She laughed and got in her car.

They regularly park in front of our drive then make out like it’s hardest job in the world to move the car.

5 days ago a parcel was delivered for next door. I didn’t really want to take it but I thought I was being petty so I signed for it. The driver left a note. 2 days later they hadn’t collected so I knocked on the door. Husband was in but wouldn’t answer (saw car arrive, curtains twitching etc). After 4 days I posted a note saying please come collect parcel as it’s been 4 days. It’s a large parcel and I’m fed up of seeing it. Today (day 5) I see a sky van pull up for next door, they are in and still not collected parcel. So I went round and knocked. No answer. I asked sky man to take the parcel in but he refused saying he was going up the ladder.

Wtaf? I’m so pissed off. Aibu to fix the wall and send the bill, throw the parcel over the gate and post dog shit though her letterbox? (obvs last is a joke) Grin

Send the parcel back.

Ruru8thestars · 19/02/2019 11:24

Send the parcel back, don’t take more in, sort your concrete post and ignore twattish son

HowlsMovingBungalow · 19/02/2019 11:25

Leave the parcel on their doorstep.

ivegotthisyeah · 19/02/2019 11:26

Just leave outside front door and don't take anymore CF x

Lunacake · 19/02/2019 11:27

Oh dear, they sound awful and ignorant! I would just dump the parcel outside their door, but I’m just petty like that Grin

Sounds like they are going to be nightmare neighbours I’m afraid Sad

EwItsAHooman · 19/02/2019 11:27

Put the parcel on their doorstep.

Get someone out to give a quote on fixing the wall, post the quote through their door saying they have five days to arrange the work or you'll start legal proceedings.

Have as little to do with them as possible.

MamaBear2181 · 19/02/2019 11:27

Say you sent it back and keep it. CFs!

PalmTree101 · 19/02/2019 11:28

Send the parcel back, don’t take more in, sort your concrete post and ignore twattish son

This.

Pretend that they do not exist.

Bigonesmallone3 · 19/02/2019 11:29

Put the parcel on there door step with a shitty note.
'I have taken in and housed ur parcel for the last week, ur welcome, however I will not being doing it again.
In regards to the damaged wall I have been advised to call in a third party to mend the wall and the you will be sent the bill'

Maybe a couple kisses at the end so u sound like a sarcastic bitch 😂

Sparklesocks · 19/02/2019 11:37

Ugh they sound hideous. Yes agree leave the parcel on their doorstep, you’ve given them loads of chances to collect – if they kick off just say you’d asked a few times and it was taking up space you needed for something else. And no more favours.

Leedsgirlfriend · 19/02/2019 11:40

I'd go with leaving the parcel on the doorstep. I can't understand why the Year 6 son does not have a key if nobody is at home. Don't leave a snotty note as it will exacerbate the bad feeling and make life worse for you. It is very unpleasant living next door to people when there is mutual animosity. You will not enjoy it - retaliating will backfire on you.

whatsleep · 19/02/2019 11:42

They might be waiting for you to put it in their door step so they can claim they haven’t received it. Chuck it somewhere out if your way, in you garage maybe, and forget about it until they come and ask for it. They sound like a sneaky bunch.

wink1970 · 19/02/2019 11:43

They’re taking the piss. Put the parcel on their doorstep and write giving them 28 days to make good their damage to your wall, then act on it. At the moment they just believe you are a walkover.

DamonSalvatoresDinner · 19/02/2019 11:49

If you can send the parcel back, do. If not, can you possibly contact the company and tell them that your neighbours are refusing to take the parcel just so that they cannot claim it never arrived?
See if your homeowners insurance covers the damaged wall. They may be able to chase the neighbours for the cost of repair on your behalf. Alternatively, get a handful of repair quotes, make copies and post them through next door asking them to pick one and organise it.

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/02/2019 11:49

I would stash package somewhere and forget about it - let them come and ask for it if they want it. And don't take in another one for them. Ignore, ignore, ignore! Sad how some people are, my neighbours are fabulous with me as I hope I am with them and its so lovely to have that.

TokyoSushi · 19/02/2019 11:51

Stop engaging with them. I'd just fix the wall, not speak to the son and not take in any more parcels!

Eliza9917 · 19/02/2019 11:52

I'd open the parcel and put it on ebay.

Juells · 19/02/2019 11:52

Return parcel to sender, fix your own wall even though you don't want to, and have nothing more to do with them. If your car is old, back out and scratch their car if it's in the way.

Eliza9917 · 19/02/2019 11:53

Then when (if) they come looking for it, twitch your curtains but don't answer the door.

pictish · 19/02/2019 11:56

Leave the parcel on their doorstep. You’ve done your best, now wash your hands of it.
The sound like a bunch of arse. Bad luck OP. Xx

pictish · 19/02/2019 11:56

*they

WinterfellWench · 19/02/2019 12:01

They sound fucking awful. I would never take a package in again, and fix the post yourself, and then completely ignore them.

Also get a penguin bollard to stop them blocking your drive.

They want to be cunts? YOU all be cunts too!

I have tolerated too much shit like this in the past (from people like your neighbours,) and I don't now.

Why should YOU be nice and neighbourly, when they are cunts?

Thegoodthere · 19/02/2019 12:01

Wouldn't put it on their doorstep - if someone nicks it, they'll hold you responsible. Send it back, then refuse any future parcels.

NCjustforthisthread · 19/02/2019 12:04

Return parcel to sender

thedogattacksthetissuebox · 19/02/2019 12:04

Cut the parcel in two and leave it next to the broken wall Wink
