It’s a National Non-Emergency: Trump thread 91

Here we are in February 2019 - Trump has declared a National Emergency to funnel the funds for his border wall, he’s just come off a ridiculous SOTU that contained more lies than not, and he’s just tweeted this:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago
More
“These guys, the investigators, ought to be in jail. What they have done, working with the Obama intelligence agencies, is simply unprecedented. This is one of the greatest political hoaxes ever perpetrated on the people of this Country, and Mueller is a coverup.” Rush Limbaugh

But here’s a reminder he’s not one of the sharpest tools in the box.

Manafort will get credit for 9 months time served. So he'll actually only serve 38 months. 3 years, when he should have served at least 19.

Hello, I've name-changed back to my original one, in honour of the one hundredth "The Archers" thread on MN - my last incarnations on here were MerdedeBrexit and BolleauxtoBankers, just so you can place me.
How is everyone? I admire your stamina, I just can't do Trump and Brexit and life in general, so I just popped in here to see what you made of the latest, on Manafort. I see the consensus is there is still no light at the end of the Trump tunnel. I had hoped to find a good, relevant, cartoon to cheer us up, but all I could find was this from Grant Stern on Twitter.

In the last 24 hours, every major source I know has said to expect major #TrumpRussia indictments from Mueller either tomorrow or next Friday.

This has never happened before.

Oh, well, this is about Brexit, but vaguely applicable in TrumpWorld.

Oh is that what Dumdedumdedum means!Grin

I wondered for ages, but am clearly dim and dumb!

PerkingFaintly · 08/03/2019 10:03

The Archers' tune is cheering enough!

Dumdedumdedum · 08/03/2019 10:21

Grin@PerkingFaintly Thank you for that, my husband, who hates TA, actually asked me to play the whole thing again as it was the first time he'd heard "Barwick Green" in its entirety. He usually mocks me when he hears the strains of "dumdedumdedumdedum" emitting from my iplayer! Also, the information given in the video was very interesting. Thank you again.
Sorry for the Archers digression, I'm sure there's lots of Very Important Trump stuff to be getting on with Grin

Judge Ellis gave Paul Manafort a more lenient sentence than the one Manafort's own DEFENSE ATTORNEYS asked for.

Cohen said the last time he spoke to Trump was "within 2 months" of the April FBI raid—and that the conversation is “actually something that's being investigated right now by the Southern District of New York.” Meanwhile, Trump just admitted to speaking to Cohen about pardons.

cozietoesie · 08/03/2019 18:24

Oh My.

cozietoesie · 08/03/2019 18:40

How long did he have dealings with Cohen?

Lweji · 08/03/2019 18:44

Old friends no more.

Ty Cobb, who represented the White House in Robert Mueller's Russia investigation, said the investigation is legitimate.

Mueller is a hero and it's not a witch hunt.

Mr M's war service - and subsequent 'cabbage' - puts him up there, certainly.

I feel that the Trump talking heads are starting to kick in to 2020 election mode. These are there beginning talking points, and boy, are they hits with the MAGA idiots who spew them back verbatim in the comments and in other forums. These are especially puerile as they are wrong.

Signing Bibles?!? That actually makes me feel ill. I don't think the late Rev Billy Graham would have had the temerity to autograph a Bible!!!
