It’s a National Non-Emergency: Trump thread 91

Here we are in February 2019 - Trump has declared a National Emergency to funnel the funds for his border wall, he’s just come off a ridiculous SOTU that contained more lies than not, and he’s just tweeted this:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago
More
“These guys, the investigators, ought to be in jail. What they have done, working with the Obama intelligence agencies, is simply unprecedented. This is one of the greatest political hoaxes ever perpetrated on the people of this Country, and Mueller is a coverup.” Rush Limbaugh

But here’s a reminder he’s not one of the sharpest tools in the box.

Tomorrow's Friday MissMarple, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Where are you seeing these hints?

Missmarplesknitting · 07/03/2019 20:04

@counterchekist, @20committee, @therickwilson.....lots reflecting on what Brennan said.

Love the idea of Cohen going after Trump for legal fees.

That would be serious chutzpah. Smile

AcrossthePond55 · 07/03/2019 21:19

Well My, My, My as Lt Kenda says.

I checked out those twitters and it sounds as if they, at least, are suspecting something for Friday.

Former CIA Director Brennan said on MSNBC that he's suspecting Mueller indictments Friday. And that if any member of the Trump family is indicted that it will spell the end of the Mueller Probe as Scrotus will shut it down.

www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2019/03/05/brennan_predicts_mueller_report_more_indictments_on_friday_i_dont_have_inside_knowledge.html

So report or indictments or both? If indictments are coming down that Mueller believes will spell the end the probe it wouldn't surprise me if he issued his report at the same time. It would be the smartest thing to do to be sure the whole story gets told.

Noticed some chit-chat about the Trump off-spring.

Manafort is in court for his sentencing hearing.

Getting their stories straight?

AcrossthePond55 · 07/03/2019 22:32

Or discussing strategy for a Manafort pardon. Today is sentencing day.

No sentence as yet ... I’ll keep you posted. The judge is still discussing how otherwise wonderful Manafort is.

Judge TS Ellis said he believed a sentence of 19-24 years as was recommended would be "excessive" for Manafort.

OP posts:
AcrossthePond55 · 08/03/2019 00:00

Manafort sentenced to 47 months.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/03/2019 00:01

The sentencing guideline was 19-24 YEARS.

This is ridiculous

TheClaws · 08/03/2019 00:04

It does seem rather inadequate.

More to come for Manafort though, let’s not forget.

It's an example of American Justice's Golden Rule; "Them with the gold, rules".

Sell an ounce of weed while black; 20 years. Commit treason and financial crimes totalling millions; 4 years.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/03/2019 00:12

My understanding is the most he can be sentenced to in DC is 10 years. So total of 14 years, if sentences run consecutively.

#BREAKING: Paul Manafort was just sentenced to 47 months (about 4 years) in prison. He faced a maximum of 24 years.

This sends a horrible message that you can commit serious crimes against the US government, lie to prosecutors, and then get away with an incredibly lax sentence.
