When my son vomited on the carpet, I read online that you could sprinkle baking powder on and then easily suck it up the Hoover... welll that was a HUGE mistake!!! My Hoover was only a week old at the time and the vomit got stuck all up Hetty's tube.... now a few years on i still get the distinct stench of vomit whenever I Hoover my house... I probably should get a new one!

🤢 yikes that’s gross 🤢🤢

Lwg87 · 16/02/2019 16:16

My mum made my brother clean up alcohol-induced vomit as a punishment for drinking too much and he used her new dyson... same thing. Smelt of sick for years...

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 16/02/2019 16:18

I have a feeling my wedding ring is in the hoover but I'm not certain enough to warrant going through the bag...

SabineUndine · 16/02/2019 16:20

I accidentally vacuumed up a little glass ornament once and because it's one of a set and irreplaceable, had to go through the whole bag of gunk to find it.

ATBhinchers · 16/02/2019 16:20

"A few years on" wtf get a new one that's minging Envy not envy

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 16:25

Haha it is gross but it was new at the time and I gave it a good clean... it probably is a long time overdue a new one Confused oh and glad I'm not the only one whose done it Grin

A dead mouse in the kitchen. Heard the thwunk up the tube and it rattling around the Dyson. The blood was everywhere inside the cylinder.

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 16:26

Oh no @TheBabyAteMyBrain eek... you'll never want to throw that bag away!!

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 16:27

@LonelyAmongUs omg that's horrid!! Lol! Did you brave it like me and keep the Hoover?

Thishatisnotmine · 16/02/2019 16:32

Dh did the same. Vanish carpet powder on vomit and vacuumed it up. We'd only had it about three weeks. Stank for about a year.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 16/02/2019 16:37

I must’ve sooked up a bug once.

When I cleared out the bag I thought ‘oh look there’s loads of rice in there...’ until I realised it was all squirming. DH ran to the living room to see why I was crying.

LonelyAmongUs · 16/02/2019 16:41

Nope @beansontoastfortea - I ditched it straight away, even the cat gave me a dirty look for hoovering it up.

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 16:53

@LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD that's grim!!!

Phone charger, completely managed it. It was plugged it at the time too so I'm quite lucky not to have been zapped!

This was the days before you could nip down to Tesco or get a new one on Amazon. Cost me £40 for a new one and a week without a phone.

Cookmysock1 · 16/02/2019 18:30

The judge, he was fine, died of natural causes a long time after

WaroftheWorlds · 16/02/2019 18:45

Soot. So whilst I was looking at the hearth, vaccuming the soot and ash, the stuff was being blown out the hoover vent behind me, covering the whole bloody room, including carpets, cushions and curtains.

Jesus. I am stupid sometimes.

Chippednails · 16/02/2019 19:11

Petrol. In fairness it was my wannabe mechanic friend who did it trying to unlock a clogged fuel line on my first car. The hoover exploded melting my favourite Miss Selfrige hipsters to my leg in the process. My mum was surprisingly sanguine about the whole thing. She wanted one of those new fangled Dysons anyway. Oh to be 17 again 😂

dawn96 · 16/02/2019 19:13

My youngest child sort of as a joke ,I put it on low and jokingly pretended I was going to suck him up but obviously didn’t to my toddler and now she’s shit scared of it

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 19:15

These are so funny @WaroftheWorlds that's hilarious Grin

This wasnt me exactly but I treated myself to a robotic vacuum around the same time as we got a puppy...can you see where I’m going with this. I popped out one day and when I returned, I was confused to find what looked like brown railway tracks weaved all over the house. Until the smell hit me.

Yes, the darling pup had done a poo which the bloody sensor on the vacuum failed to ‘sense’. I thoroughly enjoyed writing a review about the whole sodding thing 💩

UsedtobeFeckless · 16/02/2019 19:25

Lego Gandalf. Both DS and DP had a complete fit over it and we had to go through all the grot until he was found. His staff is still awol ...

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 20:17

@UsedtobeFeckless oh no... that's probably gone for good! Shock

Winchestermom35 · 16/02/2019 20:32

My other half also hoovered vomit. With a new hoover Angry

Loving the fact that there was a hoover advert at the bottom of the page though Grin

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 20:37

@Winchestermom35 I'm so surprised at the amount of people who have hoovered up vomit with a new Hoover 😂 maybe there's something spooky going on and the ad thing confirms it! Ha
