When my son vomited on the carpet, I read online that you could sprinkle baking powder on and then easily suck it up the Hoover... welll that was a HUGE mistake!!! My Hoover was only a week old at the time and the vomit got stuck all up Hetty's tube.... now a few years on i still get the distinct stench of vomit whenever I Hoover my house... I probably should get a new one!

I would have bought a new Hoover by now but I only remember the vomit incident when I Hoover otherwise the Hoover is just not on my mind!

I too believe my wedding ring was in the vacuum and I wimped out while half heartedly searching the bag for it so never found it. Sucking up building dust wrecked my Dyson.

Puddingmama2017 · 16/02/2019 20:40

My son’s foot. He was just over a year old and it was an upright dyson. He lost a lot of skin from his big toe and had to have his foot bandaged to the knee.

Scar still there 8 years on. Confused

CinnabarRed · 16/02/2019 20:40

Oddly, I don’t have a hoover ad. I have an ad for lactose intolerance...

MrsPinkCock · 16/02/2019 20:41

Dry plaster dust.

Needed a new hoover.

catthatgotthecream · 16/02/2019 20:43

lol doll sunglasses which I am yet to admit to my 5 year old daughter Blush

Cookmysock1 · 16/02/2019 20:46

I've realised I wrote "judge" I meant budgie 🐦

Novelsic · 16/02/2019 20:46

A puppy poo accidently 🙈 and in a particularly bright moment... The ashes from around the (lit) log burner..Poor Henry burst into flames in the kitchen!

Novelsic · 16/02/2019 20:47

Omg poor budgie!!!

SilviaSalmon · 16/02/2019 20:54

My toddler DS (unbeknown to me) decided to pour sand through the air holes of my dyson.

Caused it to explode, smoke to come pouring out and all electrics to short. He was not popular!

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 21:03

@Cookmysock1 oh no poor budgie!!! Glad it survived though!!

@Puddingmama2017 bless him, cleaning can really be dangerous! Confused

olderthanyouthink · 16/02/2019 21:08

How did a budgie survive that?!

ItStartedWithAKiss241 · 16/02/2019 21:17

My mum hoovered up the budgie 😂 He was still alive in the bag and was released and lived for years x

NamedyChangedy · 16/02/2019 21:52

I also sucked up vomit with a brand new Henry, but dismantled the whole thing and washed it all several times. It was fine afterwards, no residual stink at all.

YeahYeahYeahFineWhatever · 16/02/2019 21:53

Footsie socks. I had no idea until the hoover stopped working. After doing the usual change bag etc it occurred to me there might be a blockage in the pipe. I had the bright idea to flush the pipe out using the shower, this dislodged footsie socks and about a week’s worth of crap that had sucked up in and around them making a lovely dirty gloopy mess all over the bath

Rainsunshine · 16/02/2019 21:57

I blew up my Henry after having to vacuum up talcum powder my then toddler decorated the house with. Got it repaired then blew it up again running over wet carpet 😬

PocketFullOfCrap · 16/02/2019 22:07

A few years ago there was a MASSIVE spider on the wall, I somehow managed to get close enough to hoover him up but then got too scared to turn the hoover off in case he climbed back out again. I left it on until my boyfriend came round and he had to unplug and run with it out the door and take it to the bins.

It was a Henry and I could only afford to buy a cheap shit one after.

UsedtobeFeckless · 16/02/2019 22:20

Beans It never reappeared - the magic of the internet provided a new one though so all ended happily. The menfolk take their lego very, very seriously Hmm
The upside his DP has hoovered the living room himself from that day to this < evil chuckle >

UsedtobeFeckless · 16/02/2019 22:21

Doh - the upside of this is that ...

Magicpaintbrush · 16/02/2019 22:24

My mum was vacuuming around the cage of our cockateil, who came over to have a look and nearly got sucked up the hoover - my mum had to quickly prise her head back out of the tube with her fingers. She said she was alright afterwards and slightly less dusty.

easyandy101 · 16/02/2019 22:25

I've realised I wrote "judge" I meant budgie 🐦

I actually knew that's what you meant

You're not alone 👍

beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 22:32

@PocketFullOfCrap you threw your Hoover away because of a spider? 🤭😂

OP posts:
beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 22:33

OP posts:
beansontoastfortea · 16/02/2019 22:35
