you'd like to or plan to see one day?

My ones are Freddie Mercury at Live Aid, or George Michael at the Freddy Mercury memorial concert.

People I'd love to see live are Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Stone Roses, Prodigy.and Sia.

Watching Queen at live aid always sends shivers down my spine, I would love to have seen them.

I’d love to see Dolly Parton, meatloaf in his day, not now as his voice has gone. Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner.

I’m lucky to have seen quite a few live, U2 several times, The Police, Kylie, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, Spanda Ballet, Robbie, Fergie, white Stripes, Metallica, Blondie, Stevie Nicks, Iggy Pop, Black Eyed Peas, chemical brothers... I was supposed to see Roxet once but the concert was cancelled last minuet.

I also went to Top Of The Pops once, got to admit not the best line up Hanson were the main act.

Queen with Freddie, Aretha Franklin and Frank Sinatra (in the 60’s but that’s was before I was born)

I see that Pink Floyd have been mentioned a few times have seen them twice (and along with Bob Dylan it was the dullest concerts I’ve been to) I’m not a fan of PF music

Elai1978 · 02/02/2021 12:22

Steel Panther are top of my list when the world returns to whatever becomes normal.

Would have liked to have seen: The Doors, Nina Simone.

Want to go see: Alice Cooper (have tickets for Hollywood Vampires, once they are allowed to tour again), The Killers, Yungblud, and once this craziness is over, am definitely going to see Frank Turner again, as he is one of the best live acts I have ever seen.

Top fiction ghostwriter is just one example of a role that sometimes overlooked by people who wish to be involved with music in some capacity. but it can be a great opportunity assuming you don't mind "working in the shadow.

Eaumyword · 09/03/2021 18:00

Wish I could have seen:
The Doors, The Beach Boys, Prince.
Wish I hadn't bothered:
Robbie Williams at Knebworth. Dangerously overcrowded, queued for 6hrs to get in, only saw the encore via big screen, then queued 3hrs to leave. Fucking horrible.
Fave gigs:
Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Primal Scream with Inspirals supporting, The Cure in 1987 and actually Elton John!

KeflavikAirport · 09/03/2021 18:11

Ah, i wish I could have seen Jacques Brel live. That would have been very very cool.

Animum2 · 09/03/2021 20:39

I wish I had seen Freddie Mercury live

I've seen Bryan Adams live, he was amazing, want to see Bruce Springsteen, Gloria Estefan and Fleetwood mac

Lincslady53 · 09/03/2021 20:59

I would like to have seen the Beatles, I have seen Paul Maccartney, who was good.
Most memorable bands I have seen,
The Who, in the 70s were excellent. Probably the best live band. I saw them once when Keith Moon was completely out of it.
Rolling Stones, twice. Disappointing both times.
Ian Dury, in pub Rock days excellent, as was Dr Feelgood
Rory Gallagher, one of the best.
Meat Loaf brilliant, very theatrical.
Bob Dylan, both the best and one of the worst I have seen. Would like to have seen him on his 1966 tour. When he went electric.
Led Zeppelin in 75 or 76 were amazing.
Queen when they had their comeback with Paul Rodgers, very emotional, as was Wilko Johnson on his farewell tour when he thought he had just a few months to live (that was 8 years ago today)
Oasis at Maine Road, supported by Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene. My first big gig after a long lay off due to bringing up kids. Son was 14. An absolutely fantastic gig, good support bands, and Oasis were fantastic.
Smaller bands of note. Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Kevin Coyne, Strider, Sharks.
I am sure there are more.

Blackberrycream · 09/03/2021 21:43

I really wish I had seen Tribe Called Quest.
Best ever was Public Enemy.
Now, I would probably like to see Dolly Parton, Lucinda Williams and The Roots ( again but they have always been amazing live).

peak2021 · 09/03/2021 21:54

I never saw REM live and would have loved to.

Tobebythesea · 09/03/2021 22:48

I’d have loved to have seen Queen and Michael Jackson in his hay day. Oasis as well.

beguilingeyes · 10/03/2021 19:06

@MinesaPinot

I wish I'd seen Queen (with Freddie), David Bowie, Ella Fitzgerald (but I'd need a time machine to have seen her in her heyday) and The Doors (likewise).

I've been lucky and seen most people/bands that I'd want to, but would happily see the Foo Fighters again and again. And I'd like to see John Legend, Bruno Mars and Jack Savoretti.

My first concert was Queen at Bristol Hippodrome in 1977. I saw them 10 times with Freddie.

Ella Fitzgerald played in London in the 80s. I so wish I could have gone.

beguilingeyes · 10/03/2021 19:09

I loved them with Paul Rodgers. I went about six times. He's sooo different from Freddie but a legend in his own right and they did loads of Free and Bad Co stuff too. Bliss.

beguilingeyes · 10/03/2021 19:19

@AlexaAmbidextra

Would have liked to have seen Mike and the Mechanics in their early days when they had both the late Paul Young and Paul Carrack as vocalists and Adrian Lee and Peter van Hooke.
My friends band (IQ) supported Mike & The Mechanics on the Living Years tour in 89. I got to go on tour with them for a couple of weeks. I was a huge M&Ms (and Sad Cafe) fan so I loved it.
Okbye · 10/03/2021 19:26

Michael Jackson. What I’d give to be able to go back in time and see him in his Bad/Thriller prime back in the 80’s!

I had tickets for an O2 show when he died. Gutted.

worried3012 · 11/03/2021 00:57

Seen Michael Jackson, New Kids on the block, Chaka Demus and Pliers lol, Boyz II Men, Lionel Richie, Joe, Janet Jackson and Bon Jovi live.

Would loved to have seen Whitney Houston in her prime and also Tupac.

Artists still alive I'd love to see Steve Wonder, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Backstreet Boys and Adele.

Before what we know now, when I was younger I'd always wanted to see R Kelly live .. Simply because I loved his music back in the 90's...I don't now.

beguilingeyes · 11/03/2021 03:34

@70isaLimitNotaTarget

Wish I'd seen:

Simon & Garfunkle ( I am really old [b;ush] )

Dire Straits in the early days , their best music is pre 'Money For Nothing'

The Killers years ago .

But ........................................................................

I went to see Queen at Newcastle , the Kind of Magic Tour ( I think a year after Live Aid )

They played a load of non Queen songs ( think Bill Hailey / Big Bopper type ) 'Hello Mary Lou '

I did not go to listen to that . Queen have a back catalogue stretching back decades .
They don't play B.R. live because of the over layering .

It was like they were off on some personal little trip and were playing songs they liked for their own amusement Hmm

I am one of the biggest Queen fans but this was not good IMO.

Status Quo supported and they were bloody brilliant !

I think you must've dozed off. They always played Bohemian Rhapsody live..they just left the stage for the middle bit and came back on for the welly bit at the end...and look at setlist FM for your show. It's definitely there. I saw them 10 times with Freddie and they played it every time.
Bloodybridget · 11/03/2021 03:45

Patti Smith, but when I was young, not now. Joan Armatrading ditto, although I still think she is wonderful.

beguilingeyes · 11/03/2021 06:58

JA was fantastic back in the day...I saw her at Hammersmith...but last time we saw her...in 2019 I think, it was just her and an acoustic guitar and I hated it. See also Kiki Dee, who did that thing where they change all the arrangements so you don't recognize the song until it's half over.
