REM

I wish I'd seen Pink Floyd when Roger Waters was in the band. Too late now given Richard Wright died (RIP).

Cyberve · 08/02/2020 18:00

Queen or acdc.

RibenaMonsoon · 08/02/2020 18:22

Queen definately
Loved Bon Jovi and Celine Dion, they were both amazing and I'd see them again in a heartbeat
Would also love to see REM. But I don't think I'll get a chance.

PajamasnoDramas · 08/02/2020 18:29

Talking Heads
The Clash
Kim Deal era Pixies
Richey Edwards era Manics
REM
Gabriel era Genesis
Sharkey era Undertones

If only time machines were a thing.

I’d love to have seen Queen. U2’s Pop Mart tour looked phenomenal. We had tickets to Prince at the O2 but I had flu and couldn’t go so DH sold them. That’s a massive regret.

This year I’d like to see Fontains DC in Dublin.

user1471548941 · 08/02/2020 19:20

“Big” artists seen:
Bryan Adams x 4
Take That x 8 (maybe 9?)
Queen + Adam Lambert x 6 (3 more booked for this year... agree with previous poster that you just fall in love with them all over again!)
Celine Dion
Elton John x 2
Westlife
ELO x 2
Coldplay x 2
Tim McGraw
Carrie Underwood x 2
Lady Antebellum x 2
Taylor Swift (RED tour)

I’m sure there are many more “smaller” artists I haven’t listed. Gigs is my hobby and I go to many each year!

On my wish list:
Billy Joel
The Eagles
Rascal Flatts
Taylor again

And the dream would be Freddie with Queen but he died before I was born. I can spend hours on Youtube.

Floralnomad · 08/02/2020 19:28

So thrilled to have got to see Leonard Cohen ten times but I would have loved to see David Bowie and that's a huge regret.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/02/2020 20:23

Wish I'd seen:

Simon & Garfunkle ( I am really old [b;ush] )

Dire Straits in the early days , their best music is pre 'Money For Nothing'

The Killers years ago .

But ........................................................................

I went to see Queen at Newcastle , the Kind of Magic Tour ( I think a year after Live Aid )

They played a load of non Queen songs ( think Bill Hailey / Big Bopper type ) 'Hello Mary Lou '

I did not go to listen to that . Queen have a back catalogue stretching back decades .
They don't play B.R. live because of the over layering .

It was like they were off on some personal little trip and were playing songs they liked for their own amusement Hmm

I am one of the biggest Queen fans but this was not good IMO.

Status Quo supported and they were bloody brilliant !

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 08/02/2020 20:35

Queen with Freddie

Aretha Franklin

Nirvana

Tina Turner

Bruce Springsteen

Elton John

Rod Stewart

Also bands/people before my time Beatles, Hendrix and Sinatra in the 60’s

Have seen
Amy Whinehouse - before she was famous promoting Frank album she was special something about her but even then she was fragile
Pink Floyd (twice - most overrated band ever)
James Brown - fantastic. Friends aunt asked if my friend and I wanted to go we went as it was a night out in London we wasn’t that excited about going to see an old man with a dodgy wig but omg what a performer from the time he stepped on to the stage we were all up dancing surprisingly I knew many of the songs one of the best concerts I’ve been to
Rolling Stones - fantastic
Michael Jackson- amazing performer I know terrible cruel person ... but by far the best dancer/singer big performance artist show was absolute perfection
Prince - absolutely brilliant
Madonna - great I loves the show was 2004ish
Kylie - a fun show pleases her fans
Bob Dylan- couldn’t give a fuck about his fans
Van Morrison - musically brilliant not a natural showman
Diana Ross - wonderful performer another who pleases her fans they utterly adore her
Stevie Wonder - brilliant so talented
Luther Vandross - amazing voice moved me to tears
Eric Clapton - great
Oasis - mmm ok
Justin Timberlake - great dancing
Al Green - he was great and really lovely
Tom Jones - brilliant knows his crowd
Chaka Khan - fantastic what a voice
Whitney Houston - amazing voice far more soulful live
Scissor Sisters - brilliant show in a very small venue

Fluffybathmat · 08/02/2020 20:49

Wish I could have seen Queen back in the day! And also the Allman Brothers Band!
I have also seen Status Quo around 90 times across Europe too Blush Blush

LakieLady · 08/02/2020 21:04

@PajamasnoDramas, Gabriel-era Genesis were good (saw them twice), but not a patch on Gabriel solo.

He's an amazing showman, I think I've seen him 4 times now.

Proseccoagain · 08/02/2020 21:06

Wish I'd seen the Beatles and Sinatra - shows how old I am!
Did see the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds, Glen Campbell.

My first major concert; Three Dog Night, but not for reasons you’d suspect. My friend and I got ticket vouchers on the day before the concert, meaning we’d have to pick up the actual tickets at the venue’s box office when we arrived for the concert. This was in the mid 70’s, and the band was still intact (all 3 original singers, plus they had just added a second keyboard player; “The Wizard”) and near the top of their popularity. We arrived for the show, and were THRILLED when we got tickets in the third row!

We got seated for the show, and found out quickly why the 3rd row tix were still available. We were the first two seats on the far left end of the 3rd row, and we were about 10 feet from the massive stack of loudspeakers at the left side of the stage. When the concert started, my buddy started grabbing tissues, napkins, anything he could find to wad up and stuff in his left ear, to try to dampen the high-dB noise. Me; I was too enamored with my first real concert experience (Tom Jones with my mother and her friends didn’t count), so I took it all in.

Fast forward to today - my hearing is about 60–70% gone in my left ear (my right ear is going, but only about 20% off of normal), and I’m stuck with the use of hearing aids for the rest of my life. While the concert itself was enjoyable, I’d eagerly pass it up again, if I had the chance to live life with (more or less) normal hearing ability.
