you'd like to or plan to see one day?

My ones are Freddie Mercury at Live Aid, or George Michael at the Freddy Mercury memorial concert.

People I'd love to see live are Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Stone Roses, Prodigy.and Sia.

Would echo everyone saying Queen with Freddie. I often watch their Live Aid set.

Wish I'd seen some of the Motown shows at the Apollo, artists like The Supremes, The Temptations, Four Tops, Jackson 5, Smokey, Stevie etc. Would also have loved to see Jackie Wilson and Aretha Franklin.

For those of you who wish you had seen Michael Jackson, he was every bit amazing as you imagine. Prince too.

ThistlyPerf · 15/02/2019 06:33

I wish I could have seen the Pixies.

Daniel I’ve seen Linkin Park many times from smaller gigs to stadium - great show every time. Can’t believe it won’t be happening ever again.

Tara336 · 15/02/2019 06:37

I would have loved to see Queen.
Foo Fighters are bloody amazing seen them 3 times now, Stones were fantastic too.
Saw Michael Jackson it was so crap we actually left early

OutOntheTilez · 15/02/2019 20:19

Greenglassteacup

The way some posters are just listing all of the live bands they’ve seen!! Read the opening post!

Some of us did read the opening post. Some of us responded a day or two ago with the list of bands/artists we wished we'd seen. Some of us are now responding to other posts we find interesting.

Skade · 15/02/2019 20:26

I was so glad I saw Prince at the o2, and I got to see Tom Petty twice and Fleetwood Mac once, so I count myself pretty lucky. I also loved seeing Bruce Springsteen and always go to see Foo Fighters and Bon Jovi when they're touring. I would have loved to have seen Queen and Meat Loaf in his prime, and I'm still hankering to see Bryan Ferry !

MeatRaffle · 15/02/2019 21:46

I saw Nirvana twice, and they were dreadful both times.
I saw Bowie twice and he was great.
I've been really lucky and seen most of my favourite bands and singers.
Obviously Elvis would be on my most wanted list, along with Abba.

Areyoufree · 15/02/2019 21:52

Nina Simone - she actually played in the town I was living in, but I couldn't find anyone to go with. I wish I'd just gone on my own.
Ramones.
Alice Cooper.

I have seen Rolling Stones, supported by Bob Dylan, so can cross that one off! I'd like to see Frank Turner again - one of the best acts out there.

PrickWhittington · 15/02/2019 22:39

Wow - very envious of so many of these! I would have love to see Stevie Wonder at Glastonbury but couldn’t get the time off work. Been waiting for him to tour again, but nothing, anywhere Sad.

And yes to the post about George Michael at Freddie Memorial Memorial Concert - he was incredible, his voice always was SO underrated. He sang straight from the heart, but at the time had to hide the fact that he was gay, and that his partner had HIV (that he would later kill him). So sad.

I'm just going to sneak back onto this thread and mention that I saw Queen in 1979, with Freddie. They were fab.

myhamsteratefreddiestarr · 15/02/2019 23:06

Forgot Elvis! Would love to have seen him.

If we are listing groups we have seen, I have seen

Oasis
George Michael
Meatloaf
UB40 - before the split - twice
Madness - 5 times
Def Leppard (1988 Hysteria Tour, my first ever concert)
Manic Street Preachers
Status Quo
Travis
Bananarama (last year 😂)
Boyzone
Roman Keating
Sophie Ellis Bexter
Pet Shop Boys
Stranglers
Chris De Burgh
Paul Young
Runrig - 4 times
Kaiser Chiefs
Olly Murs
JLS
Take That with Robbie Williams (Progress)

I saw a lot of them with XH who loved live music and was happy to travel anywhere to see a group.

Berimbolo · 16/02/2019 08:18

Best has been Bon Jovi. Seen them loads of times but won't anymore as it's not the same without Sambora.
Had tickets for Linkin Park but Chester passed the week we were meant to go
Such a shame I never got to see them.

Shufflebumnessie · 16/02/2019 08:23

I saw Take That many moons ago. Also been to a Levellers gig. DH and I love Train and we saw them live a few years ago. They were amazing and we'd love to see them again.

Shufflebumnessie · 16/02/2019 08:25

I would love to have seen Buddy Holly. Jerry Lee Lewis would also be on my wish list.

FabulouslyFab · 16/02/2019 08:43

There’s so many I wish I’d seen but Bowie, Freddie and George Michael are definitely tops.
I’m tettering about paying £100 to see Nile Rodgers n Chic play in a field a couple of miles away. It’s not a lot of money if you consider all the other artists (Tom Jones, Manic Street Preachers etc) but I only want to see NR&C!!

OutOntheTilez · 16/02/2019 14:50

FabulouslyFab

You should go! You won't even think about the money later; you'll just remember the experience. I saw Nile Rodgers and Chic three years ago when they opened for Duran Duran. Worth every penny. My introduction to Chic was "Le Freak" in 1978 when I was a kid. I love that song.

Pinkprincess1978 · 16/02/2019 14:55

The Carpenters, I always wished I had been around to see them live. Queen, as I get older I appreciate their music all the more.

ALongHardWinter · 16/02/2019 16:35

OutOnTheTilez
Grin I know the one you mean, yes it was Mark Bedford. I believe he was the band's bass player.

PrickWhittington · 16/02/2019 20:36

FabulouslyFab. I agree - you should definitely go - I would if I was nearer! Brilliant line up, and you never know when the last chance too see some of them will be (2016 was a real reminder of that Sad).

FabulouslyFab · 16/02/2019 20:47

@outonthetilez and @Prickwhittington thank you. I jolly well will!! Star

sulflower · 16/02/2019 20:57

I'm so pleased to have seen Bowie. I saw Radiohead two nights later and it was a damp squib after Bowie, although I'd seen them before and they were brilliant. I want to see Dave Grohl - anywhere. Seeing Bryan Adams in Oz soon. I've seen Linkin Park in Singapore, only reason was because they were headlining the F1. I also saw Shaggy the same weekend Grin.

PrickWhittington · 16/02/2019 21:18

FabulouslyFab Ha - hope you have a fantastic time!

I would have loved to see Bowie - I think it's lucky it was him who performed straight after Queen (well, Freddie Mercury) at Live Aid - almost anyone else would have been buggered to live up to that! Grin. And Radiohead - I love Thom Yorke's voice. I did see Keane a few years back, and was surprised at just how good Tom Chaplin's voice was - another really underrated singer I think.

Also Nina Simone, Buddy Holly, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald - just far too many to mention looking back. Not quite so easy to find people I'd like go and see over the last decade or so though really! Just Stevie Wonder - one day....I hope! I think he's amazing for so many reasons, but for me it's the emotion he conveys when he sings that gets me every time.

Amibeingnaive · 17/02/2019 15:37

Queen and George are the ones I wish I'd seen. And Whitney Houston.

I'd like to see Cher.

I'd like to un-see some too, tbh. Just trade the memory for the hour or two of my life they cost me. The Arctic Monkeys in particular were absolute gash live, the only gig I've ever walked out of.

OutOntheTilez · 17/02/2019 18:08

@FabulouslyFab

Have a great time! Smile

Tobebythesea · 17/02/2019 19:27

Queen and Michael Jackson in his twenties.

Princecharlesfirstwife · 17/02/2019 19:38

I have a bit of a John Denver soft spot and sadly I will never get to see him. And I rather suspect there’ll never be another Simon and Garfunkel reunion but would adore seeing them.
