you'd like to or plan to see one day?

My ones are Freddie Mercury at Live Aid, or George Michael at the Freddy Mercury memorial concert.

People I'd love to see live are Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Stone Roses, Prodigy.and Sia.

The Doors
The Clash

Seen loads but would still like to see
The killers and RHCP

ALongHardWinter · 14/02/2019 16:21

I wish I'd got to see Duran Duran. I nearly did, back in 1982,my best friend and I had got the tickets, but I was rushed into hospital 2 days before and ended up having emergency surgery for a huge ovarian cyst that was causing me severe pain. My friend ended up taking her brother with her instead. Sad
The previous year I had seen Thin Lizzy 4 times, who were brilliant, but I still wish I could have seen them live before Brian Robertson left, and his replacement,Gary Moore, but unfortunately I was too young at the time.
I would also love to have seen Rush, and Depeche Mode.

ALongHardWinter · 14/02/2019 16:22

Just thought of another one. Madness!

weleasewoderick22 · 14/02/2019 16:24

I was at live aid - it was the highlight of my life only trumped by my children being born.

sm40 · 14/02/2019 16:28

I was lucky enough to be at live 8 so saw pink floyd and the who.
Also got to suffer Mariah Carey (that's a whole other thread - can I add oasis on that list too!)
Wish I had seen Bowie and Queen.
Pulp, take that and scissor sisters are amazing live.

lessthanBeau · 14/02/2019 16:32

Would love to have seen elvis in his hey day. And Michael Jackson, black sabbath and AC/DC.
I did see nirvana at reading festival, also seen foo fighters, Rhcp, Metallica and the Ramones(4×) saw meatloaf a few years back, huge disappointment the meatloaf tributes are now way better.

IveGotAlpen · 14/02/2019 16:35

Alice in Chains and Nirvana.
The cure (in the 80s) tbh lots of bands from that era like The Smiths etc.
I was a teenager at the wrong time :(

AngelsWithSilverWings · 14/02/2019 16:37

Wish I'd seen Queen ( with Freddie obvs) and Bowie. Also really wish I'd seen Oasis live ( have seen Noel and we was excellent but would have loved to have been at Knebworth).

Prince would have been great too ( only realised how great he really was when DH played me his Prince playlist last year - so many tunes! )

I've pretty much already seen everyone else I like - I go to a lot of gigs.

SquatBetty · 14/02/2019 16:55

So, so glad I got to see Bowie (Glastonbury 2000)

But would love to have seen the Smiths in their heyday

And Queen with Freddie of course

ScreamingValenta · 14/02/2019 16:59

I wish I'd been around to see Principal Edwards Magic Theatre back in the late 1960s/early 70s.

I'm not sure there are any bands I'd plan to see now.

In my universe, rock/pop music stopped being made in 1995 Sad.

I know some of the 70s, 80s and 90s greats are still going, but it's not the same seeing them after their heyday

LakieLady · 14/02/2019 17:02

Saw David Bowie three times (preen) twice at Earls Court in the £2 restricted view tickets which in fact had the most brilliant view.

I saw David Bowie in the seedy room above the Greyhound in Croydon. He was brilliant, and so were the support band. They were called Roxy Music. Saw Bowie again a year or so later, at Fairfield Halls.

The band I most regret not seeing is Talking Heads. I saw David Byrne solo, and he was great, but I'd have loved to see the whole lot of them.

Harveyrabbit76 · 14/02/2019 18:12

I wish I had seen the doors and sly and the family stone. Would have loved to have seen Alice in chains and David bowie too.

isseywithcats · 14/02/2019 18:16

David Bowie never did get to see him live
Was supposed to be going to see Ozzie Osbourne and Judas Priest last week at Manchester but all gigs have been postponed and when they reschedule i will probably be on holiday so probably wont get to see him either

Greenglassteacup · 14/02/2019 18:19

I wish I’d seen Bowie.
I’d love to see Kate Bush

doeswhatitsaysonthetin · 14/02/2019 18:19

Saw INXS with Michael Hutchence also Sparks and The Eurythmics.

Envious of anyone who saw Elvis in his early hip-gyrating days.

Greenglassteacup · 14/02/2019 18:20

I’d like to have seen Janis Joplin

Ironfloor269 · 14/02/2019 18:21

Queen with Freddie Mercury, at Live Aid. I'd have probably gone to all their other gigs, too.

yourfeetstink · 14/02/2019 18:23

@PrickWhittington mine are exactly the same as you.
I remember watching live aid as a child and even then I was mesmerised.
George was outstanding at the tribute concert. Every time I see or hear either of these performances I get goose bumps and a lump in my throat. I've no words for how amazing they are!
We will never see the like of them again. At the risk of sounding like my dad, music is pure shite these days!

I did see George in 2007 when he toured. He was amazing. A true talent and a great performer. To think they both died so young is heartbreaking.

If Freddie has contracted HIV even a year later than he did, he would probably be with us today. What a guy... what a talent.

yourfeetstink · 14/02/2019 18:30

I've seen
Oasis twice
Kylie twice
Destiny's child
Christina aguilera
Westlife about 3000 times
Brian Adams
The pogues
Red hot chilli peppers
I'm sure there is more

I'd love to see Robbie, but every time he tours, the tickets are a fortune.
Will see queen and AL if they come to my city again

Jellykat · 14/02/2019 18:37

Wish i'd seen
B52's
The Clash
The Tubes
Queen with Freddie

Would love to see The Foo Fighters and Queens of the stone age one day!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 14/02/2019 18:47

Buddy Holly - died 60 years ago this month, though, so years before I was even born.

Also Roy Orbison.

Greenglassteacup · 14/02/2019 18:49

Wish I’d seen Joy Division

cortex10 · 14/02/2019 19:01

Seen: Zeppelin, Sabbath, Who, Rush (several times), Motörhead, Genesis (with Peter Gabriel and with Phil Collins), Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Scorpions, Michael Schenker, Judas Priest, Deep Purple

Wish: Rush final tour

myhamsteratefreddiestarr · 14/02/2019 19:08

I wish I had seen Queen (Freddie) I was so jealous of a friend who saw them on the Magic tour.

and ABBA.

I did see George Michael in 2007. I had another chance to see him when he did his symphony concert but sold the tickets after my marriage broke up. Always regretted not going to that concert too.

RomanyQueen1 · 14/02/2019 19:11

I wish I could have seen Charlie Parker and Ella, or Sarah Vaughn, or Eartha Kitt etc. Anyone of the Jazz greats.
Born in the wrong era. Sad
