Sorry to be a bit dramatic and to use MN as a medical resource

I am feeling dreadful and have been all day. I’ve got a pounding headache, I feel sick and shivery and the skin in my legs has gone mottled (see picture)

I’ve got a massive day at work tomorrow so really don’t have time to go to my GP but I’m feeling dreadful and wondering if (assuming I still feel like this tomorrow) I should try and get to a walk in or something. (Also please excuse my fat legs)

I’m on my period but I’ve check and I can’t feel a tampon. Ringing 111 now so I’ll be offline either getting checked or getting some sleep

Umm, just a thought whats that tampox toxic shock thing called wonder if it might be related to this missing tampon business?.

I expect shes had to go to A&E so i don't expect we'll have a update anytime soon.

NorthernBirdAtHeart · 13/02/2019 00:00

Hope you’re ok OP

RomanyQueen1 · 13/02/2019 00:25

Go to hospital, you can't feel your tampon, could be toxic shock, you can't afford to waste time with this.
NOT FEELING TAMPON, GO IMMEDIATELY.

ScarlettSahara · 13/02/2019 00:31

Hope you are ok OP & that you went to A&E - rash would fit with erythema nodosum or sepsis (although I am a bit rusty). Most likely viral but absolutely would get this checked at A and E with a view to blood tests, throat swab etc.

Please let us know how you are/got on. Flowers

Bryjam · 13/02/2019 00:43

OP said they were either going to get checked or go to bed once they had spoken to 111. Quite bizarrely they didn't say they would update with what 111 advised, which you would expect. could indicate slight confusion as well.

OP i hope you are ok

Treebauble · 13/02/2019 01:08

I hope you're ok Flowers

Harmonyrays · 13/02/2019 01:31

Another one hoping you went to a&e rather than sleepConfused

Interceptor999 · 13/02/2019 01:45

I hope you are ok, your skin is rather pale. Another one telling you to go get checked out.

NumbersStation · 13/02/2019 02:29

Hope you are getting seen to.

Another one hoping you didn't have a sleep.

OwlBeThere · 13/02/2019 02:47

@Justaboy and @Romanyqueen, I think OP was checking there wasn't a tampon after someone else enquired about her period, rather than expecting there to be one and it being missing.

Hope you are OK OP

Badgerama · 13/02/2019 03:57

Pls update is Op

Studentnurse1981 · 13/02/2019 03:58

Decormad38 · 13/02/2019 04:41

So what’s the procedure on mn when an op appears to show signs if a fatal illness then says she’s going to bed and stops writing on the thread? Is it just left? Does anyone from mn pick up on this?

SwimmingJustKeepSwimming · 13/02/2019 04:48

Hope Op is okay.

SD1978 · 13/02/2019 04:50

@Decormad38- it's a regular occurrence. Haven't seen an MN message yet to say the person has subsequently had anything seriously wrong.

Decormad38 · 13/02/2019 05:00

It just made me think what actually happens. I guess the answer is they just disappear and we all move onto the next thread! How depressing!

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 13/02/2019 05:15

Its also depressing that despite a very heavy campaign some people are still so oblivious to the signs of sepsis .

Kahlua4me · 13/02/2019 06:23

Hope you got your symptoms checked last night. Thinking of you

catgirl1976 · 13/02/2019 07:25

Hi everyone

I am ok - apologies for not updating last night but I just wasn't feeling well enough. Got checked out. Not sepsis but some sort of infection or virus. No one knows what the rash is but it isn't sepsis so that's good news but it was totally worth getting checked and I would advise anyone else to do the same and not ignore symptoms.

I've had tests for lupus before which have come back negative even though my GP thinks I have it. I am going to push for a referral to a rhuemaltologist as I have so many odd things like this which all seem to point to something lupus like.

Very glad it wasn't sepsis and very grateful to all the advice which led me to getting it checked

HoraceCope · 13/02/2019 07:26

Thanks for updating. glad it wasnt sepsis and that you got it checked.

Passing4Human · 13/02/2019 08:10

Thanks for updating OP. So glad you got checked and are doing ok. Hope you're feeling better soon and get that referral from your GP. Flowers
