All the ones that aranged for brexit without any clear plan can go to hell as far as I'm concerned. That's why we are in such a mess now!

Tusk is just telling the truth can't blame him for the lies on the bus
Let's face it we've all been stitched up by a few bastards who have made millions out of this shitshow

Lockerblocker · 06/02/2019 22:14

I'd say he's well over all this Brexit bullshit but he can't escape as the UK government can't get their shit together.

jasjas1973 · 06/02/2019 22:15

If Brexit was a financial product, the bank would be shut down and its board would be in prison, the banks savers given compensation.

So, Tusk is absolutely right but i also understand the anger shown here by leavers such as surferjet, if i had been duped so easily by the Leaver Elite, i too would be very angry.

PestyMachtubernahme · 06/02/2019 22:16

Let's face it surfer , Tusk is a weeny bit more important than you and has a lot more responsibilities.

Duckshead · 06/02/2019 22:17

Surfer me thinks you doth protest too much ...Hmm

Caucho · 06/02/2019 22:19

I’d say it’s a bit strong and comes across as a toddler tantrum so not particularly conducive in trying to win people over. Brexit won a majority. He didn’t actually say that about those who voted for Brexit though and more aimed at politicians

nauticant · 06/02/2019 22:20

The excessive outrage from UK politicians is an indication that this has made them very nervous. Leadsom and co are starting to realise that if it all goes to shit the British public will be asking who's to blame. And while in the past it's been safe to just blame everything that's wrong in the UK on the EU, it might not work for a Brexit shambles.

UK politicians would be wise to shut up whining like children. To much of that and it'll piss off the people a lot more than Tusk has done.

Lockerblocker · 06/02/2019 22:21

Leavers will still blame the EU.

yolofish · 06/02/2019 22:21

Lemmings are quite cute though, just wish I didnt have to hurl myself, my family, and the rest of the nation off the White Cliffs of Dover with them.

nauticant · 06/02/2019 22:36

This thread though, what a laugh!

Q: Do you think Tusk made a fair point?
A: The EU is evil.

prettybird · 06/02/2019 22:37

I think the reasons that ardent Leavers are incandescent is that Tusk is removing their pre-planned excuse, ready for when the sunlit uplands fail to appear or when the shit really hits the fan that "it's all the nasty EU's fault" and has pointed out where the blame really lies: with those that promoted Brexit without even the sketch of a plan to carry it out safely Angry.

That points the finger squarely at Farage, Johnson, Gove, Davis, Banks, Raab, IDS, Bridgen, Bone et al.

You could argue that some Leavers should be grateful, as it sort of absolves them of blame as they were misled by these irresponsible politicians Wink

mummmy2017 · 06/02/2019 22:42

The fact in 1991 there was a court case over a Jaffa cake being a cake or a biscuit, should have given you all a clue about how hard getting people to agree is...

MsJudgemental · 06/02/2019 22:43

Absolutely.

Bubastes · 06/02/2019 22:43

The fact people phoned the police when KFC ran out of chicken gives us a good idea how the UK will cope in the case of a No Deal.

MsJudgemental · 06/02/2019 22:44

To clarify, absolutely a place in hell!

nauticant · 06/02/2019 22:45

I think UK politicians are beginning to realise that the mood of the public could change quite quickly over the Brexit shambles. And are also realising that they wouldn't be able to predict the direction of public anger and aren't confident they'd be able to deflect it in the usual ways.

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 06/02/2019 22:46

It was obvious that the leave side had no actual plan as to what kind of leave they want. They just didn't think it would happen. Nobody did.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 06/02/2019 22:47

Well wherever it is, I hope they are taken there on a big red bus.

FithColumnist · 06/02/2019 22:49

Yes, but at least they will have taken back control of that place in hell and will be able to strike exciting new trade deals with other places in hell. Possibly involving jam as a major trade good.

jasjas1973 · 06/02/2019 22:50

I live in a predominately Leave area and no one is blaming the EU, they blame the UK Govt and MPs in general for the absolute national disgrace that is brexit.
Most think the EU has outplayed the UK easily.

One ardent brexitier (still wants to leave) who i've known for the last 20 years says that Parliament has made the UK an international laughing stock, also agrees with Tusk.

longwayoff · 06/02/2019 22:53

Definitely nauticant, thus the mutterings about martial law. MARTIAL LAW in UK for the love of God! And the Brexit lot haven't even the grace to blush.

Arnoldillo · 06/02/2019 22:54

He's bang on as far as I'm concerned. And actually quite restrained given the circumstances.

Snowmaggedon · 06/02/2019 22:55

Brexit has to be what it is, how could there be a detailed plan until it happens.

It's very tricky as no leaver has actually been in charge of brexit yet... I do feel if parliament had got behind brexit in the first place we would be in a better place now.

rosie39forever · 06/02/2019 22:58

No point trying to debate with brexiteers they have become almost cult like, when the country rapidly turns to shit it obviously won’t be their fault.

OnlyaMan · 06/02/2019 22:58

Donald Tusk is a EU beaurocrat-he is understandably committed to the European project, he has lived his life that way, and his (large) pension will be unaffected by any Brexit decision. Fair enough. He is unlikely to be dishonest in what he says.
British politicians are struggling to fulfill the referendum decision of the nation. Not an easy course to follow.
But.........to prefer Tusk over our own elected representatives is so unpatriotic as to be almost insane.
