All the ones that aranged for brexit without any clear plan can go to hell as far as I'm concerned. That's why we are in such a mess now!

I'd be upset if a government of another country had behaved in the way that meant a large number of people from the UK did not know their future for certain in two months time. Think of the number of Polish people whose home is in the UK. So Donald Tusk is totally justified, even if I think there could have been better ways to express this.

A few of those arguing for Brexit had an idea, and some are now supporting the deal negotiated. Though to wish anyone to have to spend the afterlife (if there is one) near Boris Johnson is not a pleasant thought.

I'd prefer prison for the liars such as Boris.

surferjet · 06/02/2019 20:26

After Brexit we will be free of unelected, arrogant bullies like you and run our own country. Sounds more like heaven to me

Don’t you just love Nigel Grin

BjorkShush · 06/02/2019 20:27

I’m only sad that it was Tusk who said it, rather than one of our own parliament representatives but wait, they won’t because the majority of them are self serving cunts & a special place right next to lucifer should be reserved for the ERG/DUP

This, they did nothing proactive creating an alternative plan either in all those years. All they did was refuse to vote for the WA, push for NoDeal or campaign for a PV. Selfish MPs on the gravy train.

NCjustforthisthread · 06/02/2019 20:28

Sorry but there isn’t such a thing as hell.

longwayoff · 06/02/2019 20:28

It certainly isnt Mr Tusk who sounds deranged.

Bubastes · 06/02/2019 20:29

surfer, you're what's known as a 'useful idiot' to people like Farage et al.

TulipsTulipsTulips · 06/02/2019 20:30

I see it a little differently- a special place in hell for previous governments to allow EU ‘mission creep’ to the point that a slim majority of the public no longer wanted to be part of it. If we’re casting blame then I think that’s where it lies. If the role of the EU had been kept to a trading bloc (which most people want) then we wouldn’t be in this mess. Even now, if we remain, will the British pulic support the EU’s vision?

Alconleigh · 06/02/2019 20:30

He is entirely right. The best thing that could have happened for this country would have been Farage dying in that light aircraft crash. And I make no apologies for that. Bentham; the greatest good of the greatest number.

Now we are where we are.....well. Too much to hope the most selfish generation in history, AKA the baby boomers, will start to fall on their swords but they bloody should.

NameChanger22 · 06/02/2019 20:30

I agree.

I wish there was a special place in Europe for us remain voters. We should have our own little country, somewhere in the south of France would be nice.

Pk37 · 06/02/2019 20:31

Word ✌🏻

longwayoff · 06/02/2019 20:31

NC, we are very near discovering that there is such a place, just over the Brexit dateline.

countrygirl99 · 06/02/2019 20:33

Anyone who is offended presumably thinks there was a plan. Perhaps they would care to explain it to those of us who are still in the dark.

TheManFromHellMonte · 06/02/2019 20:34

The only Donald I can get on board with.

Me too. So refreshing to hear this today.

Lockerblocker · 06/02/2019 20:37

I'm surprised he said it but I totally agree. Although those who voted purely because of immigration should go along for the ride. Idiots.

As someone sitting in NI watching with increasing credulity at how the Tories and the DUP seem to be trying to decimate the hard fought peace in this country I couldn't agree more with him.

It's actually now getting scary. Properly scary for the future of our little country and my kids' future. I cannot fathom how the Tories and right wingers are treating the people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

And add to that the leak of proposals that the government is considering (as recently as December 2018) using the area of outstanding beauty that is Slieve Gullion and surrounding area of Counties Down and Armagh as a dump for the UK's nuclear waste (despite NI getting no benefit from this fuel source) and I could actually weep at how little we clearly matter.

I'm thankful the EU are attempting to protect us but I worry it's not going to be enough and I am genuinely concerned about the fragile peace given Stormont's collapse two years ago and the chasm that has created once more.

BjorkShush · 06/02/2019 20:39

This is down to thanking crisis, taking in too many from the EU without the infrastructure in place, then austerity.

Labour voted with the government cuts in 2015, so Corbyn came along.

We had no decent government or opposition for so long.

People I know voted leave because the vulnerable and working class got fed up of a combination of austerity, being scapegoats for the bankers mess and competing for resources with and watching the culture of the workplace change quickly, these single men living in shared accommodation undercutting or taking over a workplace so hardly anyone spoke English is isolating.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 06/02/2019 20:40

Totally agreed with Tusk.

OhDearHowSadNeverMind · 06/02/2019 20:40

Taima

I like your style!

And

I'm surprised he said it but I totally agree. Although those who voted purely because of immigration should go along for the ride. Idiots

Absolutely 100% exactly this.

andjam10 · 06/02/2019 20:41

Totally agree. Most of them should do prison time as those who were shouting the loudest for Brexit have done incredibly well financially from betting against the pound.

And isn't it an amazing coincidence that the EU Anti Tax Avoidance Rules come into law on 1st April 2019.....?

Oh and don't forget that Brexit will enable the Government to roll back employee rights that were enshrined in EU law. Or 'red tape' as they call them. You can wave goodbye to your paid sick leave, maternity leave, paternity leave and redundancy rights. And Health & Safety protections.

Personally. I am really looking forward to having zero rights as an employee as I work for the government and seeing turds and tampons once again on my local beach.

Oh yes. And my son and other cancer patients not being able to access radioactive isotope diagnostic scans and cancer treatments because we've left Euratom. They have a half life of 6 hours. We cannot stockpile them.

You voted leave? You better hope that none of your family members need a scan or treatment. Because they will never fucking forgive you if they do and they can't get it. And you'll never forgive yourself.

You were lied to. But there is so much evidence out there now to show that. If you still want to leave then I'm sorry. You are fucking stupid. You are gullible and believe the lies you have been fed. Do some research eh?

Patchworkpatty · 06/02/2019 20:41

The man is only saying what the majority of us are now thinking..

But it matters not. DEMOCRACY is the be all end all argument but can someone please explain why a DEMOCRATIC vote now that we all know what are car crash we are heading to is less democratic than a vote 2 yrs ago ?

Don't we have general elections every few years where we almost always change our minds from the lot we voted for last time. ? Are we really saying that if you voted in a Tory Govt 2 yrs ago, that's your lot. They might be a shower of shite, but sorry ... YOU HAD A DEMOCRATIC VOTE !, you may now realise how awful they are but sorry ... the Govt can't be changed. ???

Literally making it up as they go along.

BjorkShush · 06/02/2019 20:43

Maybe they were idiots and useful idiots.

They were fed up of the way the country is run, it's been run worse ever since and it's going to get worse.

If the MPs had thought of someone other than themselves ten or two years ago we would not be here.

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 06/02/2019 20:49

It's a fucking omnishambles and Tusk knows it.

Why no British politician is brave enough to stand up and say the same thing is shocking.

derxa · 06/02/2019 20:52

Tusk is an arsehole. He's only interested in The Eu Project.
