For these wedding flowers?

And could you make them yourself?

Been quoted 180 for mine, a bridesmaid, a flower girl & 3 button holes. I think it’s really expensive😩😩

I didn't have wedding flowers but I certainly wouldn't pay £180 for that - my kids could do better in the woods in spring!

arethereanyleftatall · 31/01/2019 21:56

As soon as you say 'wedding' they triple their price

MuddyMoose · 31/01/2019 21:56

They are pretty & rustic but there's no way I'd pay close to £200 for essentially what is wild garden flowers tied with some string. You could easily do these yourself.

PentreBachCymraeg · 31/01/2019 21:56

Easy to make... £180???😳

Megan2018 · 31/01/2019 21:56

My bouquet and 1 button hole was approx £200. I think yours is good!
It all depends on the flowers-I had peonies, they pushed the price up.

AGHHHH · 31/01/2019 21:57

I wouldn't pay £180 for weeds.

I couldn't make them myself, but then I can barely make toast...

Mummysharkdoodoodoo · 31/01/2019 21:57

I’m gutted! I want to make my own now 😩

We are having a very small intimate secret wedding. A 1940s war time “theme” so I want them to look rustic and rushed 😂

If anyone can tell me what flowers they are they score extra brownie points!

So that’s 3 bouquets and 3 button holes. The cost of the flowers, materials, someone’s time, overheads and delivery to you.

£180 doesn’t sound too bad.

Of course it’s cheaper to do it yourself. You’re paying for a service.

Thesuzle · 31/01/2019 21:59

Yes I could make those myself. Are you handy ? Dexterous Google hand tied bouquet Buy one button hole from a florist and study how it’s arranged then take it apart.

The tricky bit is getting the flowers you want and in good condition..

Megan2018 · 31/01/2019 22:00

This was mine, plus 1 simple button hole for groom (we got married on our own, no guests).
Have what you love, but sod trying to sort your own on the day-far too much stress!

@mummyshark that sounds so romantic. I hope your wedding is wonderful & intimate. To go along with the theme I'd definitely make them yourself - just like they would of in the war days Smile

Bowrito · 31/01/2019 22:02

They’re beautiful.
I did my own wedding flowers too as the prices were crazy for plain roses. It is a bit of hassle finding the time to buy the flowers the day before your wedding when you’ve a million other things to do. I put them together the night before with my bridesmaids drinking champagne- it was lovely.

Thesuzle · 31/01/2019 22:02

Lavender stalks and possibly blue scabious. The picture is fuzzy

PlainVanilla · 31/01/2019 22:04

I paid about double that 19 years ago & my bouquet was the crappiest of crap and not as discussed.

MoorMummy · 31/01/2019 22:06

My friend got hers from m and s , they were beautiful and fabulous value, she got staff discount as family worked there. Mostly plain creams but beautifully done and they lasted ages.

greendale17 · 31/01/2019 22:07

^I agree

iamyourequal · 31/01/2019 22:07

I wouldn’t pay anything for them. They look like weeds.

Daisydoesnt · 31/01/2019 22:08

There’s Nigella/ Love in the mist in there too. I assume you’re having a summer wedding OP? Unless you are good with flowers and can confidently get holdof the right blooms exactly when you need them you are probably going to end up disappointed trying to do them yourself.

Nojobistoobig · 31/01/2019 22:09

It’s the time and service you’re paying for rather than just the flowers. I’m like Megan2018 - no inclination to do anything that might cause me stress before the wedding! But if you’re like Bowrito then have fun doing it Smile

VWpurse · 31/01/2019 22:09

Yes, love in the mist is the big blue one, daises, Veronica or speedwell maybe???

LeSquigh · 31/01/2019 22:10

Do not pay £180 for these flowers PLEASE. No way are they worth anything like that amount.

Bishalisha · 31/01/2019 22:10

£180 got us the 3 bridesmaids bouquets pictured (some artificial flowers in vintage style tins there).

I wouldn’t pay £180 for the pictured flowers. Is it an out of season wedding?

Jellybean100 · 31/01/2019 22:10

£180 is pretty good. Wedding flowers are expensive.

katmarie · 31/01/2019 22:11

I did my own flowers. We had 16 table decorations, two bouquets, three flower girls, a gift bunch for my mum, and about 8 corsages and button holes, and enough left over to gift my friend a gorgeous bunch for helping us out them together, and for us to have flowers around the house all the following week. They included two types of roses and South African proteas too. Total cost £800. your price looks rather expensive.
