Is this normal? I'm constantly washing towels.

OP posts:

This thread is now being reported on the Daily Mirror Facebook page 🙄

Graphista · 31/01/2019 17:52

"Agreed. Where are you putting all these towels to dry out though? (I got a teeny bathroom)"

Missed this - we each have the radiator airers in our bedrooms.

In fact that's all I have for all my drying works fine.

It's this one:

_Holds about half a load at a time. I only need to do 2 max 3 laundries a week so it's

Day 1 wash, first half load to dry
Day 2 second half load to dry
Day 3 wash 3rd half load dry
Day 4 fourth half load dry
Day 5 wash (if needed) fifth half load dry
Day 6 sixth half load dry _

Dd washes on days I'm not using Machine, I try to work it that it's free when she's a day off but not always possible.

Laughing at all the "sweaty teen boys" posts - girls can be just as bad, plus there's all the fake tan and hair dye!

Dd hangs over her bedroom door sometimes (a very large beach towel she has)

You can get over door rails too:

MILhouse (great username) I use that type of hook for coats and bags.

"I think your drying your personal areas on this towel, do you really want to be using it again to dry other areas again?" My OCD means I use them the same way "round" each time - label ALWAYS top left as I wrap towel around me, body towels bigger than hair towels so no wrapping my hair in arse towels.

Bibbity £16 for that tiny airer?! I take it back some are linking to ones over £100!!

"oh OP don't you know how AIBU works? You're supposed to argue till you're blue in the face that you are NOT being U, even though you are. You're not supposed to say "OK, fair enough, thanks for the input". That's not how it works at all! I'm disappointed in you" 😂😂

"Don’t towels go horrible and hard if you wash them and put over a radiator or airer" mine don't and I don't even use softener.

Daily mail fuck off! To post this crap with the SERIOUS stuff that's going on in U.K. Is bloody ridiculous!!!

Graphista · 31/01/2019 17:59

On the weird side - that's the first time I've looked at FB DM page, some of my friends that "like" the page have surprised me! Only a few and about half I'm not surprised (a couple I suspect are refuting almost every article Grin)

EngagedAgain · 31/01/2019 18:02

I wash mine when I think necessary but don't share towels.

Racheyg · 31/01/2019 18:18

One each washed once a week. Wish I could was them more frequently but I do t have a tumblr dryer

Nanny0gg · 31/01/2019 18:26

Eewwww I certainly wouldn’t want to dry my face on a towel someone had just dried their feet or butt on!!

Ever heard of face towels? I never dry my face on my bath towel!

Bigonesmallone3 · 31/01/2019 18:27

We all have our own towel, stored on a heated towel rail and washed as and when

Villanellenovella · 31/01/2019 18:28

We share

Villanellenovella · 31/01/2019 18:29

In fact I didn't know people had their own towels till I met my husband

diamondeaglerangerovercastle · 31/01/2019 18:52

Towels washed weekly here.

But using the work shower facilities is heaven. A new fluffy white towel every time I go there. It makes me so damn happy.

VampirateQueen · 31/01/2019 21:03

Just an fyi the daily mirror has picked up this thread.

KarenSte · 31/01/2019 21:14

I wash towels after every use too. I like clean fresh towels. Even if your just out of the shower there are still bits of dry skin etc on towels. If this is getting left for a week? 🤮

Oliversmumsarmy · 31/01/2019 21:22

I too wash after every use.

When you dry skin flakes off. The thought of using a towel after 7 showers 🤮

Queenofthestress · 31/01/2019 22:04

All these comments about only washing towels once a week are making my skin crawl, that is gross

Nanny0gg · 31/01/2019 22:10

The planet really doesn't stand a chance, does it?

I wonder how you'd have all coped back in the day when we had a bath on a Sunday and you had clean underwear Monday morning...

Queenofthestress · 31/01/2019 22:23

My view on it is more than likely tainted, I have horrific skin due to a inherited condition and forget not everyone else does too Blush

Helipad · 01/02/2019 08:22

Half of the world doesn’t have a pot to piss on and people here are going ew about perfectly clean towels Hmm

We all have our own bath towels, they go to dry on bathroom radiator, not one lives on the floor, even my two DS know not to do that. They are swapped and washed every two weeks, no-one is rank and none of us have been ill for a very long time. I really don’t understand all this ewing and eurghing going on here.

RiverTam · 01/02/2019 08:55

it's because people have utterly skewed ideas about hygiene. Fair enough for people like Queen with a skin condition but most of us don't have that.

PuppyMonkey · 01/02/2019 09:04

All these comments about people washing towels after every single use are making MY skin crawl. God help you all come the zombie apocalypse. Grin

Oliversmumsarmy · 01/02/2019 09:38

I wonder how you'd have all coped back in the day when we had a bath on a Sunday and you had clean underwear Monday morning

It is probably because I lived that life I wash everything everyday. I remember how horrible it was

RiverTam · 01/02/2019 09:42

you don't have to go from one extreme to another, though.

Villanellenovella · 01/02/2019 09:42

Oliversmum - I lived that life too and it was far from horrible, I still to this day have no problem sharing towels

WhentheDealGoesDown · 01/02/2019 09:53

Peoples washing machines must be permanently on, I did my weekly towel wash and it filled my machine so if towels are washed daily it must be every day, then there was the hour or so in the dryer afterwards.

Oliversmumsarmy · 01/02/2019 10:04

Oliversmum - I lived that life too and it was far from horrible, I still to this day have no problem sharing towels

Speak for yourself.

Sharing a towel between 8 other adults and another child. All having their weekly bath, shared bath water.
If you can’t see that is horrible then you must have had a very different experience.

FWIW other child has a similar issue with not using a used towel

Peleus · 01/02/2019 10:05

We have a bath towel each. I wash mine about once a fortnight, unless it is actually dirty. DP and DC go swimming together every week, so they take the towels they have been using all week and then they get washed after swimming.
