Unbelievable! This poor child (upsetting content)

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/student-guilty-of-sex-assault-on-girl-6-will-not-be-punished-rpzdx6bmv?shareToken=a5f3f8d4d214df63fa3b4d0f4323ea4c

There is already a thread on FWR but this needs sharing as widely as possible

I know of someone who was sexually abused and repeated raped, whose abuser was not convicted because the victim was over 17, but with SLD, and the abuser managed to convince the courts that sex was consensual.

That person struggles hugely with the fact that their abuser has never had to face any consequence for what they did.

I imagine this little girl will need ongoing support.

I googled his name/the court/the charge... nothing- not even the article linked here. Who is going to find out beyond the here and now?

Shockers · 29/01/2019 10:56

*repeatedly

NotTheQueen · 29/01/2019 10:57

A custodial sentence would also ensure he wouldn’t have access to other potential victims for a period of time

BollocksToBrexit · 29/01/2019 11:00

Peadophiles can't be rehabilitated. They can't be 'cured'. They just get better at hiding their perversions. They should be locked up until they are no longer a danger to children and if that means forever, so be it.

EchoCardioGran · 29/01/2019 11:05

Why is he standing in front of a Rotary flag in his picture?
Is he, his father, the lawyers, the police officers, the Sherriff, "friends" of Glasgow Rotary?

That's probably a rhetorical question now that I think on it. Yes I know it does " worthy" things.

I cried for that little girl who was put in a witness box and cross examined at length, because the police video "failed."
If you were the people responsible for the video recording of a six year old's testimony, would you not make absolutely sure everything was A1 before recording it? Guard it well?

I would like to know who had access to the police video and at what stage it was found to have "failed".

I'd like to know what fraternal link goes across all of the people involved in this case.

I'd like to know what joins this all up with Sherriff Gerard Sinclair and the disregard for this little girl and her family.

Because my radar is asking a lot of questions here.

fancynancyclancy · 29/01/2019 11:08

that fact is he has had received no consequences of his actions, would that be the case if he was charged with theft?

It’s always the victim who has no voice as NotTheQueen highlights.

My friend works in the Met & depressingly she tells me that if she was raped she would be highly unlikely to report it as she wouldn’t want to go through the process. A 6 yr old has been brave enough to do so & it’s for nothing.

Satsumaeater · 29/01/2019 11:12

Does anyone know about Scottish procedural law here? In England, if you are found guilty and are given an absolute discharge you have still been found guilty and it's still a conviction - it's just that you don't get punished. Is Scottish law different?

fancynancyclancy · 29/01/2019 11:14

Also he seems to have been let off as he’s a child & because of extenuating circumstances. So if the victim grows up and attacks him at 15 I assume she will not face any punishment?

User1357942 · 29/01/2019 11:14

I’m a dental professional and have just reported him to the GDC for bringing the profession into disrepute.
I can not believe they will allow him to continue studying or to register once qualified.

chillpizza · 29/01/2019 11:15

I honesnty don’t understand why his not on the register. 16 year old send photos of themselves can get each other on the register. Urinating in an inappropriate place can slap you on the register as being exposed near children. But actually touching a child. Nope that’s fine. Worlds gone mad.

RollerJed · 29/01/2019 11:15

I fucking despair at this world and the proper injustices females have to tolerate.

That poor child. And that fucking monster Angry

JacksonPillock · 29/01/2019 11:16

Is he, his father, the lawyers, the police officers, the Sherriff, "friends" of Glasgow Rotary?

Given the complete let-off, I would be highly surprised if it's not because his parents are very rich and/or powerful.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 29/01/2019 11:18

Wow... Just wow...
Aggravating features....
This was a contact offence.... (in contrast to non-contact eg making pictures).

He would have KNOWN @ 15 that this was wrong.

It was multiple contacts... It a 'one off' where it could possibly been explained as 'accidental'... . He continually did this over a 2 year period...

Yes 15 year olds are still kids... BUT thjs wasn't another kid close in age to him... A much younger... Young child..

He was obviously trusted by girl's parents

He should never,, ever be around vulnerable people... Children, LD, especially when anaesthetised...

He should be on sex offenders ref for life..

None of this will come up on enhanced DBS...

This is shades of the awful case (Brock?) who raped an unconscious woman in grounds of college campus... Nd got off lightly... As it will 'ruin' his future... 😡

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 29/01/2019 11:21

PS all of the these above features mean he is likely to re-offend....

Wordthe · 29/01/2019 11:24

I know of a similar case, a 5 year old girl and a 15 year old boy, the victim was told she should say nothing because it wasn't fair that the man's life should be marred by this

The man later went on to abuse his own children I don't know if he was ever caught

Wordthe · 29/01/2019 11:26

It sends the message that girls are worthless, throw away
men must always be protected even if they're evil fucking bastards

marymarkle · 29/01/2019 11:28

It says clearly that no conviction was recorded.

AngryAttackKittens · 29/01/2019 11:29

The "aggravating feature" is 'his family are rich and would be unhappy if he was punished", isn't it?

Wordthe · 29/01/2019 11:31

How can another man make the decision to let this monster, this creature get away with destroying a six-year-old girls life
What can be in the mind of this man?
he must be mentally putting himself in the mind of the monster and thinking if I had done that I would think it was reasonable that I should be allowed to get away with it.
How can he possibly have sympathy?

fancynancyclancy · 29/01/2019 11:34

Good on the Times for running the article & publishing his photo.

fancynancyclancy · 29/01/2019 11:38

From another article I read

“Her mother approached the abuser's family and understood that he would receive counselling, but when that didn't happen she contacted the police.”

Yes he defo will have learnt his lesson.

Bowlofbabelfish · 29/01/2019 11:47

i hate the ‘ruining his future’ defence.

Raping a six year old should ruin your future.

Wordthe · 29/01/2019 11:50

His parents will have decided that because he 'only' molested her but didn't actually rape her it was all ok and it doesn't matter

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/01/2019 11:50

And some wonder why people take the law into their own hands. His picture is out there now
. Everyone will know who he is
. He'd probably be safer going to jail
Heaven forbid but if that was my child or nephews I'd be going after the beast no 2 ways or apologies about it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/01/2019 11:52

YY Bowl.
Also what about that poor innocent little girl's future. Angry doesn't even begin to cover it.
