Posted something for sale on Facebook earlier and had several replies within an hour or so, quickly arranged for a lady to collect the item tomorrow morning for the advertised price. Someone else messaged me offering half the asking price and when I politely declined and told them it was sold pending collection, sent a delightful reply:

“Lol whatever Must b nice to be able to sit on ur arse at home selling things and not having to work if ur able to arrange collection on a Tuesday morning”

I have a job, I just don’t work Tuesdays Grin

Just thought I’d share this CFery Wink

We were on the receiving end of a cf buyer. Bought a birth certificate holder for 99p, it was brand new sealed in the box, never opened. She received it then messaged to say there was a stain on it. We asked her for a picture of the stain then we would refund her. She said she had thrown the item in the bin and the bin men had already been. So she opened a case with ebay against us and they took her side, we had already refunded her, in full with postage costs too and ebay banned us for 28 days. Then her nasty messages started calling us rip off merchants and scammers!

I had some tastless and non foaming toothpaste (4 boxes unopened in cellophane) that I bought for my son but then he decided he would use normal toothpaste.

This toothpaste is good for kids that have sensory issues. So thought I don’t need them and I don’t want anything for them so I’d offer for free on a local mums FB group - collection only.

So first person answers with ‘ I really want them but you’re too far away’ I didn’t bite.

Second person was ‘yes please’ so arrange for her OH to come pick them up.
Wait in and nothing so message her asking if she was coming to pick up... got an ‘oh I forgot’

I told her I’d waited in and she’d wasted my time and I was offering to the next person.

So she just comes back with ‘rudeness’

I said she was rude and entitled and blocked. The lady who came to collect was lovely and wanted to try it for her autistic son. She was lovely.

Some people are just entitled twats

Currently selling some old baby items on Facebook. Advert clearly says where I live. Numerous people asking 'where are you?' And then when I repeat it 'too far'. Sigh.

One item I'm getting rid of for free. Let messaged me yesterday. 'I'm only down the road, I can be there in an hour'. Lovely, I'll be in. Well it's 28 hours later and I'm still waiting......

@NotTheQueen I do exactly the same as you, I put a charge on everything even stuff I would happily give away free. My price is £2 for the stuff I will give away free if they are reasonable people just loling thinking I could look even more geneticist by charging £5 😂
I find i don't get messed about like when I have offered it free. It's almost like they see you as a soft touch just because it's free.

CF worked in my favour.
SIL was looking for a ride-on lawnmower. I found one close to us, model I knew, low hours and good price.
Messaged seller and got a reply back saying I was second in line and the first buyer was coming to look at it the following day. An hour later I got a message saying if I could collect it today, it was mine.
Went over with a trailer and learned that the first purchaser had started messaging, trying to knock the price down on the (as yet unseen) mower. The seller refused all these revised offers - she finally lost it when the first buyer sent her a picture of his dick and told her she could have use of it if she knocked £500 off the price of the mower!
I paid her asking price, loaded & left. SIL delighted with his new toy!

Generous!

I find a cheery “Eat shit and die!” useful in these situations

I had a CF seller the other day.
All had been polite, arranged collection for the next day, I was free all day so told her literally whatever time was most convenient with her and I'll collect then.
She picks a time. All good.
I always text just as I'm leaving the house and explain I'm leaving and my estimated time of arrival. All good. She's waiting for me.
20 minutes later as I'm pulling onto her street my phone buzzes, pull up outside her house. It's only a message saying she's popped out shopping for about 2 hours but I can come back later if I feel like it. 😫
What a waste of my l time and petrol.
I literally pulled up at the exact time she'd asked me to come.
I don't know if I'd have preferred them to lie and pretend they'd been rushed to hospital, because the truth just felt a bit like "I don't give a shit that you've used your time and petrol, my time is more important".
I didn't go back.

I've had my fair share of CF Facebook buyers however my strangest selling experience is as follows;

We did some ground works on our garden and had about 30 big refuse sacks of gravel to get rid of. The cats and local foxes had used the gravel as a giant litter tray and it absolutely stank of poo. My DH being a typical tight Yorkshireman wanted to sell it. I was appalled at the thought of someone lugging it all the way home to realise that it was full of poo and then possibly coming back to have it out with us, so I made him promise he wouldn't.

Anyway I came home work to find all the gravel gone. My DH proudly told me that he'd listed it for free and put in bold capitals *PLEASE NOTE - GRAVEL CONTAINS CAT POO** at the bottom and top of the listing. He also checked with the guy that turned up that he was aware. We had 12 messages about the gravel with people asking if there was anymore and to keep their details!

Apparently there was a bidding war with people making offers (Which my DH refused as I'd made him promise not to sell it). The guy that collected it spent all afternoon making 5 trips to get it all home. I can't get my head round it, the gravel was so manky! ConfusedEnvy
