Everyone here (nearly) says it will be bad.
Let's hear some positives about our coming freedom from the EU!

If they manage to integrate, prosper and build happy lives - power to them and kudos to Germany.

bellinisurge · 30/01/2019 12:40

So @MrsAriadneOliver I think you'll find that other countries have their own share of mendacious politicians.

User758172 · 30/01/2019 12:43

@bellinisurge

Undoubtedly, but I still find it hard to believe that at such a crucial point in our history, the ones currently in Westminster are the best we can apparently muster.

mobyduck · 30/01/2019 13:35

I'm with MrsAdrianeOliver on this! Only snowflakes give up!
If we stand shoulder to shoulder we can weather any storm.

@mobyduck

I don’t think you are with me unfortunately, I’m the snowflake who’s bailing out!

It would be wonderful if everyone pulled together and determined to make the best of a bad situation, but I haven’t seen much evidence of it the last few years, just insults and arguments. Judging by most of the Brexit threads here, do you really think Remainers will be standing shoulder to shoulder with Leavers? I doubt it.

bellinisurge · 30/01/2019 14:02

@MrsAriadneOliver , I've moved to being prepared to accept WA. I've said on countless thread, I don't care how you voted here's a strategy for boosting your pantry.
That sounds pretty fecking willing to compromise to me.
Determined No Dealers can fuck off, though, I don't give a shit about them.

BorisBogtrotter · 30/01/2019 15:22

I think most remainers would accept the WA, its leavers that won't.

I can't believe the anti migrant MrsAdrianOliver is going to become one herself.

What a hypocrite.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 30/01/2019 15:29

I'm currently considering whether I should put on weight so I've got a some spare to lose when we go on a national diet

I suggested this before Christmas. I was told it was the best suggestion yet.

Food experts predict we WILL have a surplus of lobster and other seafood, until the producers go bankrupt of course.

mobyduck · 30/01/2019 15:40

We have a choice of remaining and upsetting half the population; or leaving and upsetting half the population.
If we remain, we will be wealthy while dealing with disorder, if we leave we will be poor while dealing with disorder.
So we have chosen to leave. Brilliant.

What's WA?

bellinisurge · 30/01/2019 15:46

Withdrawal Agreement

Mistigri · 30/01/2019 15:47

I can't believe the anti migrant is going to become one herself.

Has claimed on other threads to have lived in multiple other countries and have at least one other citizenship.

BorisBogtrotter · 30/01/2019 15:55

Ah, then she is a total hypocrite, who will claim that she is the "right sort" of immigrant.

Nice Anti Muslim sentiments she has too.

User758172 · 30/01/2019 16:02

Did someone say something?

OftenHangry · 30/01/2019 18:51

@bellinisurge thanks!

Lovelyflowerstoday · 30/01/2019 19:50

Moby not sure most remainers are the scrappy type. I went on the massive October march in London and it was totally peaceful Smile

mobyduck · 30/01/2019 21:11

Well, this isn't positive (today's Telegraph):
Barclays is triggering plans to shift £166bn (€190bn) worth of assets into its Irish subsidiary as it "cannot wait any longer" on the Brexit negotiations.
The UK banking giant is shifting the "huge" amount of money - a sizeable chunk of its £1.2tn worth of assets - due to the political uncertainty, court filings show.
"Due to the continuing uncertainty over whether there might be a no-deal Brexit, the Barclays Group has determined that it cannot wait any longer," a High Court judgment reveals.

I honestly can't believe this is happening to our country, I hope all the bloody leave voters are happy with what's unfolding in front of us Angry

Figmentofmyimagination · 30/01/2019 22:05

It’s a complete f**king tragedy. If only there was one credible person in the public sphere who could put forward good reasons why this is sensible. Instead we have the delightful Wetherspoon man. How did it come to this.

BigMosquito · 30/01/2019 22:17

We could reinvent our economy and it would be more Singapore-style

So we could become a one party state with the death penalty and appalling LGBT attitudes?

Oh, and Singapore uses a lot of migrant workers which also keep wages low. But I'm sure Brexiteers will work that out.

And we're also not a technology/electronics based economy, but hey.

mobyduck · 30/01/2019 22:45

But I'm sure Brexiteers will work that out.
They don't care. They just want to chant "we're leaving Europe" at football matches.

Don't those days of 'Cool Britannia' seem like a different world now Sad

mobyduck · 30/01/2019 22:50

David Cameron should be tried for treason (so should Blair, but for something different).

User758172 · 30/01/2019 23:02

@mobyduck

Cameron betrayed his country? So did you - you didn’t even vote!
