Neighbours dog has just attacked me and DD.

Have had issues with them in the past

They are elderly, with two large breed dogs (think Great Danes?). They cannot control them. Honestly the amount of times I have seen them nearly pull them over in the street/simply pull out of their grasp and go bouncing off and jumping all over people is untrue.

Was walking back from the shop and saw them coming from a distance so I stepped to the side into another neighbours driveway and next thing I know- one of them had pulled out of its owners grasp and came bounding over and knocked DD (who is just about getting confident with her toddling) over.

It was over in seconds- by the time I put the break on the pram (was stood on a slopes drive so it would of ran off into the road) and went to grab DD she was already on the floor the dog barking at her- so I kicked it to get it away, and it bit my leg.

I was furious. Owner very embarrassed an apologetic but I’ve said enough is enough and I would be contacting the police and the RSPCA.

Heaven forbid it bounded on the pram and just decided to bite my 2 week old. It would of taken her head off no doubt.

V shaken and waiting for DH to get home to call the police and RSPCA.

I’ve also messaged his daughter on Facebook

@Molaki and @Bengali it makes one wonder how people cope with day to day living. The mind boggles! 😂🤣😂

Tellem2 · 30/01/2019 23:05

Sick and tired of people treating dogs like they're humans or a child in this country. Very very strange, the life of an animal is valued more than a human being here- its bizarre. Call the police, get that dog put down before it attacks its own owner.

KissingInTheRain · 30/01/2019 23:12

I have goldfish too - if that helps? 🤦‍♀️

It doesn’t help me, but if you get non-judgemental companionship from the fish, rock on.

BlueSlipperSocks · 30/01/2019 23:12

KissinglntheRain
It is true that animals can be unexpectedly dangerous. Many years ago there was a report on the telly about a peccary that had got out of a private zoo. A man was walking his three Rottweilers who sniffed it out and attacked it. The peccary killed one dog, injured one so badly it had to be put down, and chased off the third

Do you have a link?

Why is your user name KissingInTheRain? Can you please elaborate as to why you felt the need to use that? I, for one, would he very interested in your life story. (Not really🙄)

My main question has to be - "Do you own goldfish"?

KissingInTheRain · 30/01/2019 23:30

No, but I’ve been confirmed, and corrected, by a PP. The peccary merely savaged a Rottweiler and a mastiff.

missbattenburg · 30/01/2019 23:41

Indeed. The dog's owner also tried to beat the peccary off with a stick. Both dogs needed a fair amount of stitches. No mention of the dogs being the primary aggressor though. Probably worth pointing out the peccary was dangerously out of control.

Would appear also to be an example of how meeting aggression with aggression can lead to problems.

BlueSlipperSocks · 30/01/2019 23:44

Ah we'll just have to take your word for it then 🙄 That will go down well...

Tip - if you have/when you have children get some goldfish. They - and you - will be incredulous at the long poos they produce. It's truly fascinating! 😉 Don't get a dog. You're not ready for one.

KissingInTheRain · 30/01/2019 23:50

My kids are all too old for goldfish. And as much as they pleaded for a dog when they were younger, they all grew out of it.

BlueSlipperSocks · 30/01/2019 23:53

MissBattenburg. Thank you for that. It's not only dogs who can be out of control then. Shall we euthanize all Gods creatures - provided they are not human?

Talking about human and euthanasia ... there are lots of human creatures that need putting down. Shall we start with the creature who raped, murdered, cut up and burnt April Jones?

That's a far cry from a dog, albeit a large dog, who "bounded over" to someone and ripped the bottom of their trousers as they saw a boot heading towards his face eh?

You don't have a dog? There's a surprise... not!

On a thread about dogs being out of control...oh my word.

PengAly · 31/01/2019 06:37

Ah @KissingInTheRain thanks for giving me some well needed laughs GrinIt's been bonkers, im sure i'll hear about you stood outside rescue centres protesting to have all dogs destroyed! God forbid us humans have to share the planet with other creatures....

Booboostwo · 31/01/2019 07:34

KissingintheRain trying to be witty by making disablist remarks doesn’t make you come across as particularly empathic or nice. My dog is nicer than you. He doesn’t judge people for showing love, he doesn’t judge people for feeling uncomfortable in social situations and he has never shown the nastiness your remarks have.

KissingInTheRain · 31/01/2019 07:45

KissingintheRain trying to be witty by making disablist remarks doesn’t make you come across as particularly empathic or nice.

What disablist comments? What are you talking about?

PengAly · 31/01/2019 07:59

I believe @Booboostwo was referring to your comments insulting those who use dogs and other pets for social support. I agree with then, thats offensive to a wide range if people, specially thise who actually struggle with social situations such as those on the autistic spectrum and possibly thise struggling with bad mental health. Calling them odd is extremely offensive and just shows what kind of person you are.

PengAly · 31/01/2019 08:00

Apologies for typos im on my phone with cold fingers!

KissingInTheRain · 31/01/2019 08:10

I believe Booboostwo was referring to your comments insulting those who use dogs and other pets for social support.

As that was in response to - and explicitly said to be in response to - Blue saying she “much” preferred dogs to people, and it was obvious I wasn’t talking about people with physical or psychological disabilities, that would be nonsense.

Dog owners getting angry and unpleasant when challenged? Who’d have thought it eh?

PengAly · 31/01/2019 08:26

The only angry and unpleasant poster im seeing here is you....

Also you didnt specifically just insult blue, you said you found people who use pets for social support odd. You obviously meant that as an insult to a number of people, dont try to backtrack. Either way im sure its being reported

KissingInTheRain · 31/01/2019 08:28

Oh for heavens sake read the thread and stop making things up.

PengAly · 31/01/2019 08:44

stop making things up

This coming from you really makes me laugh :D I honestly cant understand why you care so much that people love their pets. You hate them- we get it. Stop insulting those would love them- it has zero affect on you.

Booboostwo · 31/01/2019 08:45

What you said KissingTheRain is
It's OK for people who have something wrong with them to like dogs but anyone who is otherwise OK must have something wrong with them to like dogs.

I won't ask for your posts to be deleted. They should stay up so everyone can read them. You can pretend as much as you like that you did not say what you said, but since you said and we can all read, pretend away.

PengAly · 31/01/2019 08:58

Thank you @Booboostwo Well said!

KissingInTheRain · 31/01/2019 09:03

It's OK for people who have something wrong with them to like dogs but anyone who is otherwise OK must have something wrong with them to like dogs.

What does any of that have to do with me commenting on a poster’s statement that she “much prefers dogs to people”?

Report away. I’m sure MNHQ won’t mind their time being wasted.

missbattenburg · 31/01/2019 09:08

Last night Chris Packham talked about his dogs being the thing that kept him from suicide. In the interests of the silent worried reading this it would appear people who get social support from animals may also be rich, educated and successful.

PengAly · 31/01/2019 09:14

@missbattenburg very well pointed out. I'm sure *KissingInTheRain" doesn't realise how dangerous her insults are to those who may be suffering inside. But then again, I'm sure she wont care either based on the kind of attitude she has been displaying on this thread.

If anyone suffering is reading this, please be assured there is NOTHING WRONG with getting any kind of support from your pet.Flowers
