We recently moved from a naice area - to a rural hick town (it's a dump) think quiet little redneck mountain town. I've three kids and my eldest is 13. 13 years of school runs ... I've a pgce. I've made successful decisions and don't work as I'm comfortable. I send my children to state schools as I attended a top 20 state school. But the standards today are woeful. Think nits and threadworm. Yesterday morning the head said I'd run over a child called Harry and sworn at him. (Eh? Come again love). Shes a hopeless head. Doesn't speak to or interact with children. Would you make a complaint?

Never been treated like dirt before. =( would u send children to a decent prep school?

This is the funniest thread I’ve read for aged pmsl 😆😆😂

Schmoobarb · 24/01/2019 22:17

If this was realit wasn’t for the fact I don’t live in a rough town, I’d wonder if your head was the head of my son’s last primary school. Sounds at a similar level of competence Hmm

I've holidayed in Kirkby Stephen, excellent walks and train links

I hope that you took your own Ovex.

Wipe and check.

Waspnest · 24/01/2019 22:17

I was going to say Hull but a) I quite like Hull actually and b) it's flat as a pancake.

AhhhHereItGoes · 24/01/2019 22:18

Do you live in South Park?

FascinatingCarrot · 24/01/2019 22:18

I like you. You’re fun. Are you high?

@fevertreelight I always carry my portable German poo shelf toilet- all was good (until I reached Loughborough)

ohwownosnow · 24/01/2019 22:21

What have I just read? Is this a joke?

CalamityJane10 · 24/01/2019 22:21

Prep schools stop at 13, so you may have left it a little late Confused.

FevertreeLight · 24/01/2019 22:22

a) I quite like Hull actually and b) it's flat as a pancake

It is Hull. no pancakes- too European.

Try a Greggs sausage roll.

SuziQ10 · 24/01/2019 22:22

PP= " What are these 'successful decisions' you've made? "

Exactly what I was wondering! ConfusedHmm

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 24/01/2019 22:22

What's your husband's secretary like OP?

Devilishpyjamas · 24/01/2019 22:23

Do you even have a decent prep school in a quiet little redneck mountain town.

And surely the eldest has outgrown prep?

ClaraMatilda · 24/01/2019 22:23

Did you run this child over with a carriage or cart wheel? If so, you're right that there's no such thing as Standard IX. Report them to the local School Board immediately.

HRHlikeahornyponywould · 24/01/2019 22:24

Make a complaint about Harry.
He was clearly standing when you ran over him and the head did nuthin about it.

You are right about standards.
I bet they have take aways where you live too

FevertreeLight · 24/01/2019 22:26

@fevertreelight I always carry my portable German poo shelf toilet- all was good (until I reached Loughborough)

Same issue as Hull, nothing European wanted in Loughborough

ohwownosnow · 24/01/2019 22:26

I vote this goes into classics

Fightingfit2019 · 24/01/2019 22:27

Hmm think it’s time to take my meds.....

Waspnest · 24/01/2019 22:27

Bizarrely (because it has ferries across to the Netherlands I assume) Hull attracts a surprisingly large number of Dutch people to the Uni (or it did a few years ago) so pancakes are probably quite popular!

FevertreeLight · 24/01/2019 22:27

If it is a dump does Stig live there?

AhhhHereItGoes · 24/01/2019 22:28

The men are so poor and rough they have secretaries?

Tell Tony I said hey. :)

JockTamsonsBairns · 24/01/2019 22:28

I live near Cumbria, and my DH's secretary is a stunna Shock

WingsofNylon · 24/01/2019 22:29
