Sorry for posting on here...I feel so desperate l just need other people to tell me this is fine.

I'm 18 weeks, 2 mcs previously. I'm so ready for this baby and saw him yesterday in scan kicking his legs and sucking his thumb. I talk to him every day. I imagine what he will be like and I've bought far too much stuff for the nursery already. My family are over the moon. Dh is ready to be daddy.

Tonight I came home and went to the toilet. Slight watery pink bleeding. Exactly how my two mcs started. I've been lying in bed since. I'm terrified. I can't lose another baby and especially as I've seen this little one is already my baby boy, I've counted his toes on scans, I've felt him do little flips.

Feeling lost.

All the best OP. Also thinking of you.

No word from the midwife...! Bit crampy but no bleeding and nothing overly worrying :)

Thank you all so much for being so supportive! This is the best of mumsnet I think :-) a huge support network x

Hi OP. With my third DC I had bleeding like a fairly normal period at about 17 weeks. I was terrified because I had no bleeding with the first two. I went to St Georges Hospital in Tooting where they will do on-demand scans. It was brilliant. Is there any hospital like this near you? They showed me the baby was fine and the bleeding was caused by something called a “subchorionic haemotoma” (probably spelt that wrong), but it’s basically bleeding from scar tissue from previous pregnancies / placenta implantation and apparently it’s very common. As long as the discharge is pink / watery to brown (old blood) it’s considered fine. Mine lasted about 2 weeks. It’s only if the blood is bright red or there are clots that they’re concerned.
Go and have a scan if you can. They can see the haemotoma on the ultrasound and hopefully it will put your mind at rest. The risks of a mc after 12 weeks are much much lower. Flowers

Oh gosh I'm sorry you're going through this. However, I have had 3 pregnancies (1 ectopic & 2 healthy) and with both of my healthy I have bled around the time my period would have been due? I think with both around 8-9 weeks and around 17ish weeks. My midwife in triage said that that was fairly common when I went in to be checked. With any bleeding I would personally present myself at triage no matter the advice over the phone.

Queenofthestress · 26/01/2019 22:17

How are you today? Any word back? Still thinking of you Flowers

thelittlestsausage · 28/01/2019 13:02

@Queenofthestress sorry I just saw this! No more bleeding and all seems fine so praying it was just something random! Thank you for thinking of me 😊

Oh that’s wonderful OP I’m so pleased for you. Positive thinking, and lots of rest for the beautiful buba you’re growing, put your feet up and take it easy! FlowersCakeBrew

Did they arrange a scan to look for the source of the bleeding?

thelittlestsausage · 29/01/2019 21:11

@Absofrigginlootly thank you :-) no scan so still a little nervous but have been listening in to his heartbeat and he wiggles around more and more now so that's reassuring 😊😊 I'm trying to be more calm and focus on the positives which is hard after losses but it's all you can do really. I found myself worrying the other day that he was moving around too much so could he be in distress which is ridiculous so I had a firm word with myself and am now determined to look on the bright side!! Went and bought his cot today in an attempt to look to the future :-)

So pleased you’re feeling better OP. I had a checkered history before I had my DC and it’s hard not to panic over everything. I have not forgotten that sick feeling of “here we go again” etc Sounds as if your wee one is firmly lodged in there and is growing and thriving. Play some nice calming music that you can play after baby is born — he/she will recognise it

Bouncingbelle · 30/01/2019 00:07

Phew, glad bleeding has stopped. I had a mc before my wee boy & i honestly think i didnt believe i was actually going to stay pregnant till about 24 weeks! I had a similar bleed/discharge to yours at a similar stage - never found out why but i was told i had a low lying placenta and baby was lying transverse. Wishing you a rekaxing rest of your pregnancy!

Ladybirdbookworm · 30/01/2019 01:19

Still thinking of you...I bled at 19 weeks and took some time off work and all was fine ....ill say a little prayer for you Flowers

Thatsnotmybaby · 31/01/2019 12:09

Great news OP. Do you promise to come back and update us after his safe arrival?

thelittlestsausage · 31/01/2019 13:46

Yes I really hope I'll be able to do that :-)

Can someone please give me any advice. I started bleeding Thursday light spots of blood very watery pink. Then on Friday I woke up and it was more brown still not had any cramps. Then as the day got on the blood got brighter and I had my midwife appointment. She told me to go to A and E to see if I can get an emergency scan as she couldn’t get hold of them. I went over and they examined me and told me it all looks ok as my cervix was closed and booked me for a scan the Saturday morning. I went over and had an internal and all they could see was the sac as I am so early on. She told me my cervix was still closed and try not to worry. Through our the day yesterday I started getting period like cramps and they got slightly worse but I wasn’t in severe pain. I’m still bleeding and when I go for a wee there is small clots of blood down the toilet. I think I am only 4/5 weeks pregnant. Is this a sign of threatened miscarriage??

I don't know, it might be best to start your own thread so that it appears higher up on the list and gets the attention of people who know about it
. Best of luck, someone once told me that from the minute you get pregnant to odds of having a healthy baby who lives to old age is always more than any of the terrible things we worry about Flowers

Hxaxr · 02/06/2019 12:24

Thank you for you advice ❤️

Galaxy88 · 02/06/2019 13:16

Hope you're ok, OP! It really could be something random. When I was pregnant with dd2 I had bouts of bleeding throughout. Nothing was found and dd is now 3.

Yabbers · 02/06/2019 13:40

ZOMBIE THREAD.

But, since it’s come up, I wonder how @Thelittlestsausage is doing?
