To ask where you do your food shopping?

I really want to start feeling like I'm getting the most out of my money whenever I go shopping.

Where do you do your shopping? Do you do it at one place or do you go to different places for different things?

From my own experience I feel like Tesco is quite expensive compared to other supermarkets and I always come out feeling like I've hardly gotten anything.

I do go to Aldi (which I love btw) but feel like I can't get everything from there sometimes..

i do a combination of Aldi and iceland, with the odd item like butter bread milk top ups midweek from asda

PhilomenaButterfly · 20/01/2019 17:48

Sainsbury's. We have nowhere else here.

wendz86 · 20/01/2019 17:49

I usually do an online shop with Ocado and then top up shops at Tesco or Sainsburys.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 20/01/2019 17:49

Waitrose and Lidl.

Lifeisnotsimple · 20/01/2019 17:50

Have a look at the app my supermarket. U can compare prices of food etc from all the supermarkets, tesco always comes out expensive. I look at this every month then shop accordingly. Usually do lidl, home bargains, iceland and asda. Spend 200 every month for 2 adults 1 child and 2 dogs. Dont buy ready meals, usually cook from scratch.

Justkeepswimminglalala · 20/01/2019 17:50

We usually start with Lidl for the majority of our big shop and then stop in at Morrisons for anything else we need that we couldn't get in Lidl. Then during the week I'll pop to Morrisons for little bits we might need.

SerenDippitty · 20/01/2019 17:50

Mostly Morrison’s or Tesco with the occasional Waitrose.

Ultramic · 20/01/2019 17:51

Aldi and Lidl, the odd thing on offer from Tesco's.

And veg from our local fruit & veg seller. Thinking about using a local butcher for our meat as I'd like to be more community minded!

Sinead100 · 20/01/2019 17:52

Aldi with Sainsburys as a top up for bits I can't get in Aldi.

Passthecake30 · 20/01/2019 17:53

Tesco and Asda. No aldi or Lidl nearby unfortunately.

Huntlybyelection · 20/01/2019 17:54

Lidl for the main shop
Co-op for milk and bread top ups and pooping in after school run to be mugged by my pre-schooler twice a week.

MrsTommyBanks · 20/01/2019 17:55

Mostly Lidl, there is one 10 mins walk away.
Occasionally (one a month or so) get bits they don't have from ASDA or Morrison. Depending which one I happen to be nearest to when I'm out and about doing other things.

Cwtches123 · 20/01/2019 17:56

Iidl is less than a mile away so I tend to do the bulk of my shopping there, the bits I can't get I pick up in Tesco as it's also close by. I love Aldi and shop there if I'm nearby.

I go everywhere. Tesco a lot more than I’d like as there is a massive 24 hour store a 5 minute walk from my house. It’s just easier to pop across the road for stuff than go out my way to go elsewhere.

Lidl at least once a week for a few bits on the way home from work.

Sainsbury’s specifically for some of thier vegetarian range - the shroomdogs are the best veggie sausages I’ve ever tasted. We don’t have one nearby which is a shame but I do go out my way sometimes.

Aldi sometimes, usually if they have a special buy I want. Not the easiest to get to on public transport.

Morrison’s occasionally as they do things I can’t get elsewhere - the lentil curry ready meal for example and little school lunch box sized cartons of milk.

Never to Waitrose as we have very few in Scotland and my nearest is not worth traveling that far to get to it, it’s also quite a small store so really not worth the effort.

Gotstuckwiththisname · 20/01/2019 17:58

Aldi for most bits, then top up at ASDA.

LadyofDispleasure · 20/01/2019 17:58

We do our big weekly shop in Aldi, we then pop to Asda for bits we can't get in Aldi, then any top-ups during the week are from our Sainsbury's local (bread, milk....wine Grin)

Ikeameatballs · 20/01/2019 17:58

Sainsbury online delivery. I find this cheaper as I look at my “favourites” list and work from there. When I went to Aldi and Sainsbury I spent more as bought stuff I don’t need.

VioletCharlotte · 20/01/2019 17:58

Aldi and Lidl. Both are very close to me, so I get everything I can in Aldi, then pop to Asda for anything else.

Frouby · 20/01/2019 17:58

Mostly aldi for food.

Tescos for the odd thing I can't get at aldi like suet, dhs beer and some veggie freezer stuff for dd.

And cleaning stuff from wilcos.

Sometimes get a few bits from M and S if we are feeling flash or there is a good deal on.

VioletCharlotte · 20/01/2019 17:59

Aldi and ASDA I mean, not Lidl.

DeadCertain · 20/01/2019 18:00

Aldi, local butcher, local market. Odd bits and pieces from Home Bargains (branded things I like, like Heinz beans and Andrex loo roll) occasionally other supermarkets here and there.

HRTpatch · 20/01/2019 18:01

Mainly Sainsburys. But also Booths, M and S and Waitrose.

donttakethebiscuit · 20/01/2019 18:02

Sainsburys as it’s the closest, but we’ll usually just use the village shop

Jsmith99 · 20/01/2019 18:03

Lidl for basics and yummy German cooked meats etc.

Waitrose / M&S for other stuff.

Farmers markets, farm shops, craft bakeries etc when time allows.

hartof · 20/01/2019 18:03

Asda for the big shop, go to Sainsbury's and M&S for top ups and weekend food.
