Need some inspiration on places to go this summer. Where are you planning on going this year? Just thinking about the sun makes me happy in this horrid cold weather Grin

Cyprus to get married. We've paid for some
Family to come also as we couldn't do it without them.

Everyone else has had an invite but it's going to be about 20 people.

I can't wait

flingingmelon · 19/01/2019 12:06

It's my 40th this year so it's a special one for holidays. Thinking southern Spain for feb half term, South Africa and Victoria Falls or Mozambique in the summer, then maybe a long weekend in NY in autumn.

So nice having something to look forward too Smile

Iooselipssinkships · 19/01/2019 12:14

Blackpool for 3 nights in Feb half term. We've been to a lot of different places including Florida and Centre Parcs but always have the most fun in Blackpool.

Minoes · 19/01/2019 12:20

2 weeks Dubai in April
1 week Holland in May
4 weeks Morocco August

Luckything50 · 19/01/2019 12:21

Just booked Nepal and Bhutan for 2 weeks end of August beginning of September.
Last year we did a Brexit tour of 11 European countries in 2 weeks with 2 teens.
I was dreading it - it was fab, and actually pretty cheap.

TheyBuiltThePyramids · 19/01/2019 12:25

Prague, Budapest and Vienna followed by a week in Austrian alps in the summer.

5 nights in Stresa, Lake Maggiore at Easter. We might go to Rome for autumn half term but not planned yet.

Girly weekend in Barcelona.

Has anyone been to Seville or around there? It’s our 30th wedding anniversary in March and fancy going there for a well as it’s quite warm.

tillytrotter1 · 19/01/2019 13:03

Croatia looks like it'll be pretty crowded!
We're off the Florida in a couple of weeks, Disney and Universal for my 70th, love it, trashy and all!

tinytemper66 · 19/01/2019 13:08

Adriatic Cruise 🚢

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 19/01/2019 13:09

@LizzieSiddal have been to Seville a couple of times.
Really cool vibe-bustling fun city.
Great food and some beautiful sight seeing.
Think an ideal anniversary destination!
We stayed right in the middle-which I recommend.
Don't hire a car if you can avoid as there is no parking.

Rayraybidet - thanks, sounds great!

Jenniferturkington · 19/01/2019 13:58

Camping in Italy (Venice, como, Tuscany ) for 3 weeks.
We did Portugal last year abs weren’t blown away tbh. Croatia is gorgeous but the ‘beaches’ can be difficult with young children.
Absolutely wouldn’t pay Centre Parcs prices in summer hols.

ghostyslovesheets · 19/01/2019 14:03

driving down to Bavaria for 10 days - visiting a town I lived in 20 years ago - hoping to impress the kids with my language skills!

Spend the last few years holidaying in Spain and France but I only speak German !

VenusClapTrap · 19/01/2019 17:05

@LizzieSiddal - Seville is lovely. If you want to visit the palace, book your tickets online before you go. When we went last year it was fully booked unless you paid through the nose for a private tour with a rip off tourist company.

GhostsToMonsoon · 19/01/2019 17:12

We are going to Northumberland in May half-term and north Devon in the summer.

Curlyshabtree · 19/01/2019 17:13

You know it will be Ramadan in May hence cheap deals to Dubai?

3out · 19/01/2019 19:12

@VenusClapTrap make sure you don’t miss the broch of gurness. It’s left off most tourists ‘must see’ list, I can’t understand why. Unlike at skara brae, you can wander in and out of all areas there.

areyoubeingserviced · 19/01/2019 19:26

Malta during the February half term
Not sure about Summer yet

VenusClapTrap · 19/01/2019 19:30

Thanks 3out!

weegiemum · 19/01/2019 20:24

Outer Hebrides - Isle of Harris for 2 weeks.

brizzledrizzle · 19/01/2019 20:25

Iceland - up to Akureyri and Isafjordhur in the north of the island.

DeliveredByKiki · 19/01/2019 20:31

Hopefully Japan and possibly also Sri Lanka, yet to book though

dingdang · 19/01/2019 20:41

Centreparcs in Feb
Scotland and Germany in March
Too nervous to book anything overseas after March right now but keen on south of France for a week in July

ChinchillaFur · 19/01/2019 20:48

We are doing a mini cruise to Amsterdam for 2 nights in Feb (super cheap).

10 nights in Playa Blanca at Easter.

2 weeks camping at Duinrell in Holland. Went last year after reading a thread like this and LOVED it so thanks to whoever recommended it!
