Need some inspiration on places to go this summer. Where are you planning on going this year? Just thinking about the sun makes me happy in this horrid cold weather Grin

Croatia looks amazing! Thanks to those who have mentioned it. We can’t go abroad this year but definitely next year.

Drogosnextwife · 18/01/2019 23:17

We are planning Tuscany next year with family. Any tips on where to stay etc would be much appreciated. We have never been before so absolutely clueless and we never go abroad, I have no idea where to start Blush

@Littlecaf

That sounds ace!

I've been looking for ages for a holiday in croatia!

Do you know of anywhere with sandy beach and Must be a very short transfer as dh hates travelling.

I'm struggling because we want all inclusive too.

PurpleRobe · 18/01/2019 23:28

Sorry to hijack op

It's our 10th anniversary... we are going to Venice, Verona and lake Garda (1 week total) and hopefully Croatia for a beach holiday straight after

PoisonButTasty · 18/01/2019 23:30

@Drogosnextwife Norcenni Village was getting rave reviews on here the other week. I’ve not been but have now looked into it.

catitude · 18/01/2019 23:32

Just booked all inclusive to Croatia. Very excited

PurpleRobe · 18/01/2019 23:32

@MintyCedric

Omg

I saved that cottage on my shortlist (book marked it) but lost the bookmark when I had to reset my phone!

How odd... Thanks for the link in so happy :-)

PurpleRobe · 18/01/2019 23:34

@catitude

Does if have a sandy beach where you're going?

Can I ask where specifically please? I'm really struggling to find somewhere in croatia

PenguinPandas · 18/01/2019 23:43

Norway - week by the fjords with lots of watersports etc then few days around Oslo and also few days in Sweden seeing moose and beavers in wild.

catitude · 18/01/2019 23:44

Rab Island - I think the beach by the hotel is stony, but there are supposed to be lovely beaches nearby, have gone for the pool and spa really!

Brokenfurnitureandroses · 19/01/2019 00:04

We are going to Bavaria for 10 days at Easter, can’t wait. We will be staying near to Dachau so hoping to drive around and visit Munich, etc. We will have our three children under 6 with us. Any tips would be welcome!

2019StandingforWomen · 19/01/2019 00:11

We are in Centreparcs right now having a lovely winter break.

Menorca for us May half term then Algarve in August.

Davros · 19/01/2019 00:12

Norfolk in April for a week
DD is going to LA with a friend post GCSEs Shock
Austria for 10 days or so in August

Franheaton · 19/01/2019 00:22

Spain for twelve nights, Andalucia. A town, a city and a coastal city. I get a nice warm excited feeling when I think about it. The third place we're staying in is a typical Spanish place built round a courtyard with balconies and high ceilings and shutters but the apartment is fully refurbished (and air con), looking out on a square where they do dancing, cathedral round the corner, beach less than a ten minute walk.

ilovepixie · 19/01/2019 00:31

Going to Benidorm in March for a week and then to Ibiza in September for a week

BobbyGentry · 19/01/2019 00:34

Accommodation sorted. Transport mostly sorted but need to buy Italy & UK train ticket...

Netherlands- Amsterdam
England - Cheshire & Devon
Italy - Rome, Florence & Venice
Wales - Gower Peninsula
France - Paris

Bit of a bucke list summer so hope I have the sense of mind to enjoy it.

bettythebuilder · 19/01/2019 00:35

We're going to Florida with another family after our dd's GCSE exams are over.
Dh also has some spare leave, nothing booked yet but I'd love to go to Croatia so we're looking at that... I went to Dubrovnik when it was Yugoslavia and loved it, so it's about time I went back!

Letsmoveondude · 19/01/2019 00:35

Disneyland paris, we have annual passes so will probably make 5-6 trips, making the most of eurotunnel and tesco Clubcard rewards and cheap hotel.
Will also be going to Spain in May and Greece in late June for our anniversary am really looking forward to some warmth and hopefully nice beaches, haven't really done short hail until this year. Teletext holidays is good if you're after cheap and cheerful.

Franheaton · 19/01/2019 00:49

Re beaches in Croatia, they're mostly pebble but still really nice.

There are some sandy ones - if you go to Hvar there are a couple around Jelsa ie the less trendy/party bit of the island. There's one on brac as well although the main beach there is pebbles. I'm pretty sure there's one in Dubrovnik too, out of the centre. I actually quite like the rocky/secluded ones you get in that part of the med but appreciate that you can't build sandcastles on them!

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 19/01/2019 00:51

Islay. tent on the beach. been our summer trip for the last two years and just ace Smile

ashvivienne · 19/01/2019 00:57

We are going to Mexico for 14 days we were under £14500 which is good considering there 7 of us. We will probably book another week away at the end just OH and I but we’ll see. DD2 is booked to go away with friends as well.

gluteustothemaximus · 19/01/2019 01:07

The garden, mainly.

Littlecaf · 19/01/2019 06:56

You can try Ciovo near Trogir for a large beach but it’s not sandy. Croatia isn’t really known for its sandy beaches. There are all inclusive hotels but not many. I think you’d struggle to find a sandy beach, all inclusive and a short transfer. Lumbarda on Korcula has a sandy beach but it’s a ferry ride from Split so hardly easy!

recently · 19/01/2019 07:00

Grado in Italy, it's an island near Venice. It's gorgeous!
Tell me more! What's there to do? Is it good for kids?
