Just that really, I love reading classics but thought I'd see if anyone remembered any others that we particularly funny/shocking/ full of CFs etc...

OP posts:
redcarbluecar · 18/01/2019 20:04

There was one I enjoyed where a woman's male friend wasn't speaking to her because she'd tipped sheep poo over his head in an act of revenge for something like splashing water on her. It may have been made up, but I hoped not at the time.

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 18/01/2019 20:05

Softzilla was a troll????

WobbleBottomBum · 18/01/2019 20:06

Softzilla wasn't a troll. The posting stopped because it became a police matter, right?

Can someone summarize Mexican house theif please?

Also, does anyone remember how it ended with the lady who thought her landlord was using her tumble dryer?

Mia184 · 18/01/2019 20:07

The cat/dettol thread was awful. I felt sick reading it!

I agree but the OP on that thread is absolutely amazing.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 18/01/2019 20:07

The ones that stick with me are the really unusual examples of toxic behaviour or abuse:
The OP who's parents were hording.. at OPs House.
OP who's Mum (a retired social worker) had engineered a situation to manipulate social services into colluding with her stealing OPs kids.
The financially abusive "D" H who looked up the benefit rates for single Mums and allowed OP exactly that amount.

NotACleverName · 18/01/2019 20:08

Snapped and farted was not, and still is not, funny.
Softzilla was more than likely an over drawn out troll.

Mia184 · 18/01/2019 20:09

Softzilla wasn't a troll. The posting stopped because it became a police matter, right?

That‘s what I remember as well. I‘d love to know how things turned out.

BonBonVoyage · 18/01/2019 20:16

There was a thread where a woman had moved to somewhere like Brazil or Argentina with her boyfriend who was horrible. When she met his new work colleagues they were shocked he had a gf and that it was her (as in, he'd been in the pub for hours with them and her and was ignoring her)

Another thread about a woman who had a baby and the mil was trying to steal it from her. And the husband was too. I think the mil and dh were not from the UK. Maybe Polish?

And there was a poster who was thinking of leaving her 3 month old baby for 6 weeks to go on the Haaj pilgrimage. Even though bf mothers are permitted (encouraged?) by the Koran not to go.

I don't know what happened to any of the posters

bibbitybobbityyhat · 18/01/2019 20:17

Re. Fixing and Softzilla - have HQ made a statement along the lines of "sorry folks but this op is a troll".

?

pootleposeyperkin · 18/01/2019 20:19

The secret door one - think they turned out to be a troll ??

BartonHollow · 18/01/2019 20:21

@WobbleBottomBum

MHT was just a single post on a general cheeky fucker thread but the level of audacity has turned it into legend

The poster and her DH had a holiday home in Mexico. Poster implied that she'd had some troubles in her life and had turned things around and the Mexico house was really special to her, but she allowed her family and her best friends family who raised her to also use the house.

As a couple they had attracted a CF neighbour who was always coming over to borrow stuff. He overheard her sister talking about the house and immediately asked to have a holiday there and the poster felt forced into allowing it.

At a later date, her best friends Mum went to stay at the house, found a bunch of strangers in there and called the police. The police could see that it was her family home because she was in the photographs and escorted the strangers to the police station

The strangers were the OPs neighbours. He had copied her house key before returning and they had gone back for several holidays without telling her. He had the cheek to have a go at the OP about "their ordeal"

Ohgoon · 18/01/2019 20:24

Of course Softzilla was a troll. The op needed to find an ending!

BartonHollow · 18/01/2019 20:24

The last post I saw from the Softzilla OP was that she was appreciative of the support but the police had told her to stop posting.

DoneLikeAKipper · 18/01/2019 20:25

bibbitybobbityyhat in regards to Fixing, MNHQ deleted all her theads but alluded to 'they belived her'. However, many of the things she was claming were becoming easily unravelled, and most tellingly she never once came back to 'defend herself'. Even if she had decided to leave once it was obvious no one longer believed her, you'd think after all that time she would have made one last post in her own defence - I would have for sure. She gave up awfully easy once her threads were deleted, extremely unusal considering the amount of support and the levels she was posting for weeks on end. However, that is all speculative.

WobbleBottomBum · 18/01/2019 20:28

Thanks for the update 😀

ellenanora5 · 18/01/2019 20:49

Was fixing the poster whose son had died and her daughter was very sick in hospital and she was pregnant, I was following the thread but not sure what happened, I thought she was genuine, but I could be getting mixed up because I can't remember her name.

SilverySurfer · 18/01/2019 20:50

I cried with laughter at this one (there's a photo of the hat later on in the thread : www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/937597-Sinister-Easter-bonnet

I also loved the fat ball thread.

There's one on a Classics thread where the poster returned home to find an elderly woman rummaging through plants at the bottom of her garden. (garden backed on to footpath). When asked what she was doing she replied 'I'm looking for gooseberries and got lots from here last year.' OP replied, 'well this is my garden, those are my plants and I've already picked the gooseberries.' Elderly lady replied 'Well it's not good enough as I promised to make my friend a pie' and walked off in disgust. Grin

On the reverse, I have read some harrowing threads on relationships which I will never forget.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 18/01/2019 20:55

Back when I joined there was a poster called Amazonian ( sp ) who just had a baby and found out her OH was having an affair with someone from another country. He left her to be with OW. She posted regularly about it.

It reeled me in, like a soap opera.

Carol020582 · 18/01/2019 20:58

Do you believe everything people tell you Barton? Its a ridiculous saga

Ps. Santa isn't real either

Bumblebee2302 · 18/01/2019 20:58

There was a great thread about a year ago but I only remember the gist - someone at the OP's work was taking over the work fridge or throwing things out and I have a recollection of something to do with courgettes... anyone help??

Nnnnnineteen · 18/01/2019 21:00

Im currently a bit fucked off about the smug op who thinks that if I shagged more frequently i would have been saved years of infertility. Thankfully for her, she got pregnant super quick and is stunned other people don't try her method. Ignorant twat.

FiddlesticksAndCustard · 18/01/2019 21:01

Sinister Easter bonnet is amazing although I don't think the picture is available anymore!

Softzilla?

OP posts:
HowlsMovingBungalow · 18/01/2019 21:02

I don't believe 90% of the shite on here.
Always Twins , no money, affairs that unfold in a matter of minutes, cliche crap to wind people up.

Yawn.

BartonHollow · 18/01/2019 21:20

@Carol020582

No. And I never followed those threads or posted on them, because the original OP was too much of a saga and didn't pique my interest I just picked that titbit up from randomly scanning threads, it's also been said on other threads about threads like this

KungFuPandaWorks · 18/01/2019 21:23

I had the pleasure of being on the end of PTA CF! Proud to report I still don't speak too her and her PTA career was very much short lived.
