The one that stayed with me was the woman whose partner had absolutely battered her over the years, she was a doctor if I recall and was in hospital with a broken arm. I don't know what happened but we all begged her to get away immediately, Horrifying.

A fair few threads. I remember how sour and het up posters where on the topic of pre cut fruit vs non cut/regular fruit. Ras claat! That was my first AIBU and it sucked me in, the rest is history.

One thread, in a weird way always stuck with me. Topic of shaving the vag. One poster said that she shaved her foof near bald or bald but when it came to sex, her dh didn't want to dtd because of how it looked "..and we both sat down on the end of the bed, had a little cry, cuddled then went back downstairs.." FFS! 😂 So it aint to your liking, fine - but the mental image of two, naked wet lettuces simpering and whimpering on the bed, made me want to reach through the screen and give both a hard shake!

The Poo cube had me wailing. The lady falling from the car going round the roundabout had me weeping. Severnake, yep, shocking. And the Flexi time CF.

There was one where ops dh stripped off his top half and ran through the kitchen beating his chest doing Tarzan howls. She got him back by doing the same - only her dh and horrified builder were both sitting at the kitchen table. I laughed out loud at that one!

One of my favourites is the decorating the neighbours No Parking sign at Christmas.
It was so funny and inspired.
'You've got to make time for the important things Kath.' is one of my best quotes ever. I think it got moved to classics.

My favourite is the dad eating the fat balls thread. Totally don't get the overreaction. To the snapped and farted thread. It's really not that funny.

@LindaLa I still think of your thread, I have abuse in my past too.

How are you now? Did you ever get any apologies? Flowers

I do love a parking thread though!

The dog groomer was good but the dogging one was amazing.

Bluntness100 with her baby in the room and her MIL next door, by her policeman husband who insisted on coming with her to the scan that showed he'd given her third degree tears? Whenever there's one of these threads I remember and hope she's out of there.

the two that stay with me is the lady who's husband had set hidden cameras up in their home , really scary and the couple who took their child swimming and in her sleep deprived state she took her bikini bottoms off poolside , my God I laughed so hard at that

Hedge Sex (which a PP has mentioned), the NYE parties and SoMuchtoBits with the Playmobil, all the threads with Zombie and biscuitsandbandages all stick in my mind for various reasons.

@Nesssie - the lemon drizzle cake thread is here. The OP was asked to make some cakes for the PTA cake sale, but when she said she’d make cornflake cakes, she was told ‘be prepared to take them all home - people want proper cakes’. Her theory was that the head of the PTA was worried the OP’s cakes would show up her own sunken lemon drizzle cake - she apparently always makes one, and it never sells, so the PTA volunteers get a slice with their coffee.

As a pp mentioned, I'm always amazed by threads about periods and some of the attitudes you see.
The dettol cat one this week was awful

Been a few that have stuck with me...

There was a particulary creepy post on one the scary threads about a couple who were visiting family up north and the weather has got really bad with deep snow and blizzards so they had ended up staying at a lodge B&B type place with their room being a separate building to the rest of the house.

I can’t remember the exact details but it was something along the lines of the the DH had disappeared in the middle of the night and when the DW had found him he was out of it and in complete shock after whitnessing/been subject to something terrible.

The main occupants had brought the terrified couple into the house and the DH was taken into another room where the fire was and given whiskey to stop the shock and only he was given a vague explanation to what had happened. The rest is quite hazy (it was a while back I read it) but the DH wouldn’t tell the DW what had happened to him as he wanted to protect her and couldn’t bear to relive it!!

The frustrating part was the op said they had kept in touch with lodge owners and became friends and they had agreed next time the OP and her DH visited to share and explain exactly what had happened but I have never read or seen any updates/posts from her again...

I think about it all the time though so if you are about OP I’d be really intrigued to know what the explanation was!!

The other one that has stayed with me was years back and I’m not even sure if it was Mumsnet or the other parenting forum beginning with the letter M that we shall not mention!!

It was a lengthy post started by a mum who’s baby had fallen of the bed and suffered a nasty injury which SS and the hospital did not think matched what had happened to her (can’t remember the exact injury but it was either the baby’s lip or nose has been separated so badly that it was in two parts...

The baby had been removed and the thread was mostly the process the parents were going through to prove their innocence and get the baby back.

It was so confusing because as much as I felt for her, no one could explain how the baby had got the injury.

I remember being terrified that something could happen to you your child accidentally (as they often do) and there was a chance that you wouldn’t be believed but equally this lady could be abusing her poor child.

Loads of people were invested in it though from both sides and she had quite high up professionals getting involved from the parenting forum.

The post was removed in the end as I think SS’s and the police didn’t deem it appropriate (too right as well) as it still was an open investigation but I often think about her and if she got her poor baby back.

One where a woman claimed her children of identified as a girl at the age of 3, it was chilling ... then when you read back on her threads she had a long posting history of wanting a girl and how to make her chances of conceiving a girl higher.

This was a few years ago so before all the 'gender fluid' rhetoric of today
