To be saddened that my name makes me a CF?

My initials are C and F. So I frequently receive post that is addressed to Mrs CF Esker. Instead of my own names, these letters now automatically signify 'Cheeky Fucker' to me. Perhaps I should take it upon myself to become a CF and live up to my initials Confused

My daughters initials are CF, she doesn’t understand what a cheeky fucker is, and doesn’t think she is one. I disagree. I find it mildly amusing.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 15/01/2019 20:44

CF is only a thing on MN isn't it? I've never seen it anywhere else if I'm honest.

Can't stand it on here. Cringetastic.

Esker · 15/01/2019 20:44

@Mymuffinsstuck That is very unfortunate. In my husband's family there is an aunt who is affectionately known by the initials BM and I always think 'bowel movement'. She's lovely though so she can pull it off Grin

I thought it was cunty fucker not cheeky fucker Hmm Grin

cheminotte · 15/01/2019 20:50

Sorry Esker, I’d misread!

NumbersStation · 15/01/2019 20:50

I am now reading the 's' in your name as silent op

You can't escape that you are a proper cheeky fe(s)ker Grin

I haven't really seen CF outside of here. Necky bastard is what goes round these here parts.

jessstan2 · 15/01/2019 20:50

I never thought of the phrase, "Cheeky F**r", before looking at Mumsnet so please don't think of yourself that way. No-one else uses that expression. It's horrible!

Think, "Catherine Foster", or similar. Nothing wrong with having initials CF. Mumsnet is to blame for a lot.

HavelockVetinari · 15/01/2019 20:52

Angela Hernandez is a reference to a thread from years ago (in Classics but OP now deleted) where the OP accidentally addressed a large meeting by saying "I'm Angela Hernandez" (she wasn't) only to have the real Angela Hernandez pipe up "No you're not" Hmm from the back of the room. She couldn't explain why she'd done it other than nerves! Grin

MyMuffinsStuck · 15/01/2019 20:55

Grin haha it's not normally noticed unless pointed out so we can get away with it!

MissPatty · 15/01/2019 20:56

My initials are BJ. Frequently get post addressed to Mrs B J Blush

ImportantWater · 15/01/2019 20:57

There’s a restaurant near here called LTB. It’s supposed to stand for Love Thy Burger but that’s not what I think whenever I see it.

VamillaSugar · 15/01/2019 20:57

Better than standing up and saying “I’m Barry Scott.”

GalacticChickenShit · 15/01/2019 20:58

Hahaha I totally just thought. My mum is Caroline Frances [surname]

And she fucking is Grin

LadyinLavende · 15/01/2019 20:58

I have known people give their sons first names that are also their initials which I think is neat:
SAM and JOHN spring to mind, but you need to have a surname which begins with a suitable letter and mine really doesn't.

MaddieElla · 15/01/2019 21:00

FWB

Fuckwit Buddy. Doesn't even make sense but that's how I read it in my head.

CharlyAngelic · 15/01/2019 21:00

Thanks @HavelockVetinari

babysharkah · 15/01/2019 21:02

My professional qualification starts C.F. I cringe every time I see it.

Watto1 · 15/01/2019 21:02

I work at the head office of a company with several branches across the country. Each branch is known by a two letter abbreviation. Every time I have to do anything involving the Cardiff branch, I automatically think Cheeky Fuckers. They're not at all, they're lovely!

mumsastudent · 15/01/2019 21:02

maybe clever f?

Catsandbootsandbootsandcats · 15/01/2019 21:04

My surname begins with S

I had a great time thinking of names

Phoebe Isobel Sarah Smith? (Not my actual surname!)
Frederick Ulysses Colin Kevin Smith?
Samuel Henry Isaac Thomas Smith?
Grin

Luckily for my kids I was mature enough, just, to not inflict that on them!

Alloftheboys · 15/01/2019 21:04

Oh’s initials are MEH.

Loka123 · 15/01/2019 21:06

I suppose it's better that CF are your first and middle name rather than first and last - it's easier to change or leave out your middle name than it would be with your last name :)

ContessaIsOnADietDammit · 15/01/2019 21:08

I know someone whose son's initials are RIP. I'd known the mum for some years before his birth so could have said something, but didn't quite dare Blush the son also has basically the same name as his older sibling but that's a whole other thread Grin

I once had a conversation at a funeral with an elderly lady who confided that her parents had wanted to call her Hazel Olivia, but realised in the nick of time that she'd have ended up with the initials HOG Shock they went with Olivia Hazel. She was still grateful that they noticed in time, I think!

Crikeyblimey · 15/01/2019 21:11

At work, the naming convention for network log ins used to be the first 3 letters of your surname+your initial+a number (depending on how many of the same there were).

I had a member of staff start work and when I was applying for her log in, I thought ‘they won’t do this’. Her name was Terresa Shim*. Yep - her log in was Shit01! 🤣

Gudgyx · 15/01/2019 21:12

I once met a man called Richard William Titbum

I mean really what were his parents thinking. Might’ve picked first and middle names that couldn’t be shortened to Dick Willy when his surname was Titbum
