By the way I am not for another Brexit referendum but I am seeing a lot about it on the news/social media and it got be wondering what everyone would vote if it did happen and what did you vote before? I voted remain and would vote remain again.

Still leave.

MasonJar · 15/01/2019 08:11

yes

Angelicinnocent · 15/01/2019 08:50

Leave then and leave now. DH the same. Ds was 17 at the time but would vote leave now, as would about 70 % of his friends.

Seline · 15/01/2019 08:51

Angelic That's interesting as I personally don't know anyone under 60 who voted leave. The only leavers I know are my grandparents who didn't really understand it.

What's his reasoning?

chilledteacher · 15/01/2019 08:58

Remain first time, remain now

QuizzlyBear · 15/01/2019 09:07

Remain then, Remain again.

PlumpSyrianHamster · 15/01/2019 09:12

Still remain.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 15/01/2019 09:18

Leave then ....Leave now...nothing has changed my opinion but the whole campaign has been woefully run and it a complete embarrassment and I feel ashamed and deeply angry with how all at Westminster have gone about it with project fear..lies and downright childish stupidity...I am also sorry our country has been torn apart in such a way and any form of rational debate seems to be the last thing any of our leaders seem capable of....my trust in our Government and Parliament on the whole is non existant,

Angelicinnocent · 15/01/2019 09:22

@Seline most of them talk about the future EU being different to what we currently see it as. I think if they could guarantee nothing would change then they would vote remain but since people like Macron are pushing for EU army and closer financial integration, they are worried that we will be forced into things which won't benefit us and could be detrimental to us. Vetoes may not be certain in the future.

They also talk about the changing politics of other EU countries as more and more right wing parties rise.

Voted reluctantly to remain. The EU is corrupt, and hands too much sovereignty to un-elected bureaucrats, but on balance i thought that despite the compelling leave arguments, it would cause too much economic turmoil and that we would probably be slightly better off sucking up its ills and retaining the status quo.

Would vote leave now as I believe in the integrity of the original referendum. Scared to death that a remain vote would trigger the fall of the government and an extreme left takeover.

Mymycherrypie · 15/01/2019 10:02

Remain and remain.

MrsAriadneOliver you asked what the point of the first one was. In my view it was not to decide the fate of the U.K. and the EU. It was called by Cameron in response to masses of the electorate defecting to UKIP. To quash that he called the vote in the hope he could say, look! No one wants it! Let’s put that to bed and get on with our other issues.

But he hugely misjudged it and the voting public, and oh jolly bugger, had to resign. slope off to enjoy his tax free millions

And now the country is continuing down the path he started on a gamble.

Mymycherrypie · 15/01/2019 10:03

—Oh jolly bugger I can never do a strike through properly!— Grin

why100000 · 15/01/2019 10:07

Umm no. The bully lost and the bully is crying about it and feeling like the victim as bullies always do.

Am so fucking tired of listening to so much anti EU bullshit.

Buccanarab · 15/01/2019 10:12

Remain in 2016, leave if we were to vote again as I think the fall out that follows will help Scotland finally achieve independence.

mobyduck · 15/01/2019 10:20

I didn't vote, didn't feel the need to, as I believed no one in their right mind would vote leave.
I was astonished at the result! More astonished that the Leavers are still adamant they want to risk losing their jobs and imposing economic hardship on themselves and their families.

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 10:22

Remain forever. This current situation is utterly appalling and it makes me despair.

I hate those who foolishly voted for Leave. Their ignorance led them to that.

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 10:25

As for not having voted in the Referendum, then you and those like you - of whom there may be considerable numbers - should be ashamed. You do not know whether your actions led to thus.

Fgs, some people do not deserve the franchise.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 15/01/2019 10:25

Fuck off with your superiority complex Kate, people like me made their choice best on their assesment of information and what was best for them...Jesus.

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 10:26

...to this.

Seline · 15/01/2019 10:27

Sorry but I agree with Kate.

Logically, if you didn't know who to vote for or didn't feel strongly about it, you should have voted remain as you clearly aren't unhappy with the status quo.

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 10:28

I think those who voted Leave swallowed the hype in the red tops about immigrants. Horrible reason to vote Leave.

Mistigri · 15/01/2019 10:28

I probably won't get a vote if there is another referendum (British in EU and abandoned by the U.K. government) but in the unlikely event I do get one it will be remain all the way. And if I ever get my vote back no MP who supported Brexit in any way whatsoever will ever get my support.

Mymycherrypie · 15/01/2019 10:29

Tbh I always took a non vote as a remain vote anyway because it meant at best satisfaction and at worst indifference to the current situation.

Mymycherrypie · 15/01/2019 10:30

So YY agree with Kate too. Sadly. I wish people had thought more about it and not played games with their vote. Sad
