I'll start.

Céline Dion - Fly

Bloody hell, what a song. I only just discovered it today. The feel of the song and the lyrics are out of this world. Truly amazing. And extremely comforting if you've been through a child loss. Listen if you have the time Thanks

On a lighter note, Let's here it for the boy - Deniece Williams Grin

IamFrauBlucher · 14/01/2019 15:38

Ladies if you love the song list I recommend joining SongPop. It's a music clip competition. A LOT of this list on the different song lists.

I'm not at all addicted, no

Just added "One head light" The Wallflowers

And

25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago

I think Chicago were a very underrated band, before they became a bit schmaltzy.

ALittleCrisp · 14/01/2019 15:41

OP I used to love that Phil Collins track (actually most PC stuff) but some tracks now I can't hear without thinking of American Psycho!

That adds a lot of the appeal to me I think Grin

Another great song from American Psycho is Hip to be Square

Yay to Set the Fire to the 3rd Bar and the Zuton's Valerie.

Also:
Less known Beatles songs such as my name sake Smile, Yes it Is and I've Just Seen a Face.

Also the current Tesco mobile advert, Bless the Telephone, original by Labi Siffre written in the 1970s. Beautiful simple love song.

Igotmylipstickon · 14/01/2019 17:07

@BubblegumFactory I've finally found someone who also loves David Coverdale's Northwinds! The "Northwinds" track itself gets me every time - I get lost in it. And "Only My Soul" is so beautiful. It's lovely to hear some appreciation for this album.

dustarr73 · 14/01/2019 17:44

Mary The Four of Us
Witness for the world Cry Before Dawn
I used to Love her Once The Saw Doctors

2019Dancerz · 14/01/2019 18:03

Love all of those dustarr

MissingGeorgeMichael · 14/01/2019 18:11

Outside - Mariah Carey (sometimes I have to turn it off or I cry wherever I am)
All music by Haim - they should be Beyoncé status
The Door To Your Heart - Taylor Dayne (so incredibly undervalued as a vocalist)
Yentl Medley - Barbra Streisand ( 13:17 on this link - just listen for stunning vocals even if the quality is scratchy )
Celine Dion - Miracle
Bell, Book and Candle - Eddi Reader
Breathe - Anna Nalick
Only For A While - Anita Baker

2019Dancerz · 14/01/2019 18:11

The River Detectives with Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. Beautiful song.

Tanith · 14/01/2019 18:13

I love "Will You?", too. In fact, Hazel O'Connor herself is really underrated.

One of my favourite songs is "Farewell to Tarwathie". Judy Collins sang it to a backing track of humpbacked whalesong and it was used as a protest against whale hunting in the 70s.

This is the Eurythmics' version, also beautiful but not as well known:

2019Dancerz · 14/01/2019 18:22

Hue and cry - Violently

MiaKolpar · 14/01/2019 18:30

Pale Shelter - Tears for Fears
Until the End of Time - Mariah Carey (I kid you not - thank God for anonymity on this forum)
Saint - Elton John
Waiting at the Gate - Carly Simon

Totopoly · 14/01/2019 18:33

Pet Shop Boys - After the Event, Bright Young Things (arguably the best song ever written), The Way It Used To Be. The PSB are bloody brilliant except for when they release trance type albums

ButterbeerPancakes · 14/01/2019 18:34

Tom Waits - Grapefruit Moon
Julie London - Misty

Rememory · 14/01/2019 18:39

Omg The River Detectives, now that's a blast from the past!

I'm meant to be sleeping so can't listen to any of these just now but I'm adding them to my playlist and so tempted to get up to listen.

CoperCabana · 14/01/2019 18:39

Had the playlist on whilst I cooked dinner. Gone a bit crazy with flavours! Got all inspired by the music! Sorry family! Grin
