What is the sexiest/coolest accent for a spouse.

I think the sexiest is French, the cutest is Swiss.

Loving the love for NI on here!!

honeyrider · 14/01/2019 23:18

Irish accent in particular Cork, Galway and Waterford and I love Liam Neeson's accent.

I also like the Welsh, Liverpool and well spoken English accent - I've just learnt it's the RP accent.

MonsterTequila · 14/01/2019 23:22

Going to go against the grain here....
Can’t stand the Scottish accent. It sounds vile to me. Like screeching in my ears.
I love Southern American accents & Proper English ones.

beanaseireann · 14/01/2019 23:53

I don't like a Scottish accent either which is odd as I have Scottish ancestors.
honeyrider you like the Waterford accent ?
I think it's the least nice accent in Ireland

Dieu · 15/01/2019 00:07

How can you see that you don't like the accent of a whole country? Hmm
It does vary from region to region.

Dieu · 15/01/2019 00:08

Fucking pudding fingers.

whitehousemum · 15/01/2019 00:11

I fell in love with James Nesbitt’s accent as a teen. Then I married one. Then I moved there. Norn Iron accents for the win!

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 00:25

I love Neil Lennon’s accent. And I loved Famous Seumus’s one.

donttakethebiscuit · 15/01/2019 00:27

Really going against the grain here, but my DH has a really strong brummy accent. Always thought it was disgusting until I met him and something about it is really sexy, but that might just be because it’s his accent

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 00:28

Of course ALL Scottish accents are exactly the same - pure dead screechy.

🙄🙄🙄

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 00:33

I think it's the least nice accent in Ireland

What? You mean there are DIFFERENT accents in DIFFERENT parts of Southern Ireland? Wow. Bit like Scotland, then, I imagine.

JustOneShadeOfGrey · 15/01/2019 00:48

@LadyB49 Broughshane?? Nowhere near Coleraine! James Nesbitt lived in both places, mind you!

NI accents except Ballymoney, Derry (City) and Tyrone.

honeyrider · 15/01/2019 01:09

honeyrider you like the Waterford accent ?
I think it's the least nice accent in Ireland

There's a couple of different accents in Waterford, there's the Mario Rosenstock's Mossy Power version and there's a softer Waterford accent, it's the softer one I like. Grin

katekat What? You mean there are DIFFERENT accents in DIFFERENT parts of Southern Ireland? Wow. Bit like Scotland, then, I imagine.

There's a wide variety of accents in Ireland.

BeachtheButler · 15/01/2019 01:36

A strong South London accent is sexiest and coolest in a man mentioning no names

MrsCatE · 15/01/2019 01:49

HATE Welsh accent because of Bastard ex. Also hate scouse, just because.

perthmom · 15/01/2019 04:11

Favourite accent : Welsh. Absolutely love listening to Anthony Hopkins.
Second favourite : N/Ireland and Scots.

Least favourite: Essex - my own accent Grin. Even worse now it's blended with Australian.
Second least favourite : Australian [my DH's]

Not too keen on NZ or S/African accents either.

Ifangyow · 15/01/2019 04:16

Husband is Scottish, but speaks like Hugh Grant with a soft Scottish burr going on in the background. Particularly noticeable when he's speaking to me on the phone. This has the effect of wanting to ram the phone up my flange while shouting keep talking, don't stop, nearly there. 😍

user1457017537 · 15/01/2019 04:29

A certainIrish accent not sure where from. Anyone from Liverpool I have been known to follow them just to hear them speak ...

HurtSoul · 15/01/2019 07:37

Seems like a whole lot of love for the Irish

BadMoodBoard · 15/01/2019 08:00

Best, Spanish and French
Worst, South African and Australian

XingMing · 15/01/2019 09:19

A Russian speaking English fluently induces quivering; otherwise, I'd go with various Irish accents or gentle RP.

SoftBlocks · 15/01/2019 09:22

Any of them. It depends on the individual. Any accent can be horrible or cool/sexy.

cantfindname · 15/01/2019 09:33

West Country, esp Somerset.

Keeptrudging · 15/01/2019 09:38

I'm also a fan of 'educated Glaswegian' Smile. I like a good Yorkshire accent too. My most memorable accent was when I worked in the oil industry and a Texan called Dwight used to phone to talk to my boss fairly regularly. He was ultra-polite, used to always say "Good mornin' ma'am, this is Dwight" and I would be instant mush. I may have (regularly) lied about my boss being on another call so I could make lovely small tslk with him Blush. He always sounded like he'd just tied his horse up outside/was wearing chaps & a stetson.
