What is the sexiest/coolest accent for a spouse.

I think the sexiest is French, the cutest is Swiss.

French, Yorkshire, Deep South USA in no particular order.

I'm Canadian and Hubby is a British ex-pat (born in Brighton, most recently lived in the Midlands). Shortly after we married my boss called the house and Hubby answered. When I picked up the phone she was all, "Oh, I just LOVE his accent!" A British accent is thought to be INCREDIBLY sexy in Canada. Hubby occasionally has problems with wait staff flirting with him. I do love a good English accent, but of the UK accent, my favourite is Welsh - especially if it's a woman speaking; to me it sounds akin to music.

RoboticSealpup · 14/01/2019 02:47

Russian, Greek and Scottish. In that order.

I agree re the Welsh accent being musical. So lovely.
How could you be angry in a Welsh accent ? Smile
I also think the Newcastle and Welsh accents are similar.

katekat383 · 14/01/2019 10:39

Northern Irish
Irish
Scottish
Yorkshire

Isth: "I don’t want to understand my men clearly" ha ha!

Top of the sexies: I've never yet encountered a Scottish accent I didn't like. Droolsome. I can't differentiate that well between the various regional accents though.

I find both Welsh accents and RP very aurally pleasing, but not necessarily sexy, if that makes sense.

I love a lot of regional English accents, especially Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester and Newcastle. Very sexy all.

Southern US accents are knicker-droppingly sexy.

I think Spanish, French and Italian accents are really sexy on women but less so on men, for some reason!

On home turf, I love my husband's very neutral Dublin accent.

winewont · 14/01/2019 16:41

I like a US accent the best. Can’t stand the NZ accent

MrsDrudge · 14/01/2019 16:47

Republic of Ireland, specifically Cork! It’s grand!

MsRinky · 14/01/2019 16:58

Glaswegian or Norn Irish. I married a Yorkshireman though.

Skyejuly · 14/01/2019 17:57

Scottish. 100%

SlowNorris · 14/01/2019 18:08

Scottish. But not the type that would say Glaaaaaazzzgee. More the David Tennant type.

Does Sheffield have an accent?

Georgianfairy · 14/01/2019 18:14

Well now. Perhaps I have found an explanation for my unfortunate work crush - I am clearly powerless to resist the Norn Irish accent!!

I also love a Geordie or Scouse accent on a man, the stronger the better!

Orlandointhewilderness · 14/01/2019 18:20

For those who said Boston - can I just clarify, the US Boston or the Lincolnshire one!!?!?

AhhhhThatsBass · 14/01/2019 19:13

RP like my husband. Love it. Neutral American. And some Scottish accents are lovely. Specifically the ones when they don’t roll their r’s (possibly Aberdeen? I don’t know what Scottish accents relate to which city)

Believability · 14/01/2019 19:40

Well spoken generic public school but not plummy English accent for me: Dominic West in his normal accent, Damien Lewis, benedict Cumberbund

MsRinky · 14/01/2019 19:40

Sean Bean has a Sheffield accent.

Totopoly · 14/01/2019 19:42

Very posh English. DP falls into that category. I am probably RP English.

Nala8 · 14/01/2019 19:44

My husband has a Welsh accent 😍

What does an RP accent mean?

Ivegotthree · 14/01/2019 19:55

RP English

Dieu · 14/01/2019 19:58

I'm Scottish and would say an educated Glasgow accent is the best.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 14/01/2019 19:58

Russian every time, even more bonus points if they can sing.

Dh isn't Russian but he can sing in Russian which is the next best thing. The rest of the time he speaks in a "posh" NE Scottish accent which has a nice softness to it.

Absentwomen · 14/01/2019 20:07

Geordie
East Coast US
Irish
Russian
French

And Burnley is so in Lancashire
