I like Daenerys but I’m hoping for Jon Snow to get his happy ever after, and Arya too :)

When Euron asked if the alive/dead things could swim and fucked off back home when he was told they couldn’t, was that genuine or was Cersei telling the truth that they were working together and he was coming back?

Euron is too batshit a character for them to just abandon I reckon.

The books seem to foreshadow him either awakening some massive sea monster or turning into one. And there's loads of stuff in the books about the evil 'shadows' under the water.

Yet the Others don't do water. Confusing.

But yes, I think they'll do something along the lines of him and cersei conspire to treat with the Others. He may even join them.

All goes badly, but fucks up Dany and co's plans all the same.

Ipromiseiwontbenaughty

I am internally conflicted about whether or not Brienne should be with Jamie or Tormund.

Also, the Hound is a legend and I really despise Ayra for leaving him for dead after all he did to protect her.

LaurieMarlow · 12/01/2019 10:30

I 100% want Brienne with Jaime. She is the total antithesis of cersei and the one person who can totally redeem Jaime (who is my fav character of the entire series).

Tormund is a (very amusing) sideshow.

SaucyJack · 12/01/2019 10:34

#TeamTormund.

He’s fancied her from the word go. She deserves better than Jaime.

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 12/01/2019 10:40

I follow the actress that plays Brienne on Insta. She posts the most stunning pictures of herself that artists and photographers have done. I hate that she gets called ugly.

LaurieMarlow · 12/01/2019 10:41

She deserves better than Jaime.

Well that's definitely true Grin

Peanutss · 12/01/2019 10:43

I can see Jamie turning against Cersei. He's already pretty much there from the last season I think. He loves her but knows she's insane.

Wasn't there some prophecy as well that she would be strangled by the 'Valonqar' (little brother) and she assumes it means Tyrion but could it be Jamie really? I know they are twins but possible that he is 'younger'.

Also, I can't picture Jon even wanting the throne when he comes to learn that he is the true heir. I've never really seen him as someone who wants to lead/rule. He'd be better use keeping Dany in check as Queen because frankly she's a bit of a dick/controlling the army.

I'm not really routing for Arya this season. I don't know why, I just find her storyline a bit...meh.

I feel like there is going to be some big revelation about what Bran and the three eyed Raven. I think it's too big of a mystery at the moment.

I don't trust it though. Know Game of Thrones the exact opposite of what everyone wants will happen. I'm still reeling from the red wedding.

Peanutss · 12/01/2019 10:45

I also love Jamie but am so conflicted as to how this show has made me route for the guy fucking his sister.

UsedtobeFeckless · 12/01/2019 10:58

Although the "killed by little brother" thing might be a red herring - Circe thinks it's Tyrion, everyone watching thinks it's Jaime, and it turns out to be Tyrion after all? Nah. It's going to be Jaime ... She's going to do a "Well if l'm going the whole world's coming with me, mwah-ha-ha!" type speech and Jaime is going to grab her and dive off the battlements or something.
Tormund has had a eye for Brienne right from the start but Jaime thought she was a moose for ages. He doesn't deserve her!

ElspethFlashman · 12/01/2019 10:59

Poor old hot conflicted Jaime has Red Shirt written all over him. I just hope he gets a really awesome death.

My real OTP is Tyrion and Jaime. I'm hoping they meet up soon, as Jaime is headed to Winterfell, right?

I think there's a tiny teaser doing the rounds of Sansa greeting Danaerys and saying "Winterfell is yours" or something but she's stony faced.

I mean, from Sansa's perspective it's "Danaerys Who?" - this white haired invader who's swanning in with her superior attitude and her dragons and her thousands of mouths to feed after spending her life sunning herself in the East whilst they were all suffering.

And Jon just in thrall. I'm hoping she's PISSED OFF.

ElspethFlashman · 12/01/2019 11:04

BTW, didn't Little finger and Roose Bolton say they got an annulment?

I know in the books LF hasn't so far even suggested it, but in the show wasn't there a claim he got one?

In which case it doesn't matter how Ramsey and Sansa married or whether it was legal or not? She'd be single if nothing else?

Zoomzoomzoomzoom0 · 12/01/2019 11:05

I agree Brienne and Tormund should not be together. He should be with MEEEEE. Gorgeous big ginger head on him.... Cmon Tormund, let's be having you...

Peanutss · 12/01/2019 11:08

I just hope Tormund isn't dead. Wasn't he on the wall when it came down?

Still so fucking pee'd at that whole scenario.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 12/01/2019 11:10

I’m not liking the whole Jon & Dany story arc. Not because of the incest surprisingly enough but because it’s so obvious. But Martin doesn’t do obvious so I’m confused!

UsedtobeFeckless · 12/01/2019 11:12

Tormund is way too awesome to be killed by a squillion tons of ice, a dragon and a zombie army. He'll be fine! (I'm a bit worried about Dour Ed, though ... )

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 12/01/2019 11:19

We know Varys is going to die, because Mellisandre has prophesied it ('you will die on this island'). I doubt he'll be seeking out any battles (and the White Walkers won't get as far as Dragonstone because island) so everything points towards Daenerys killing him. Either she goes full Stannis and sacrifices him in an effort to build on the magic of the magician who castrated him, or she believes he is trying to betray her. If the latter, regardless of whether she's right, it suggests she goes mad (i.e either so paranoid she kills her wisest advisor, or so dangerous that he risks his life for the greater good).

Cersei was prophesied to die in the books, but they missed that part out in the series. I'm certain it was deliberate. May die anyway, of course, but definitely not strangled by any valonquar.

Peanutss · 12/01/2019 11:19

I hope Beric is alive. I do like me some Richard Dormer.

Peanutss · 12/01/2019 11:21

Oh such a shame. I'd love to see Jamie do full circle and kill her. He's been slowly redeemed throughout the seasons and it would just be the perfect end to him finally becoming one of the good guys.

BartonHollow · 12/01/2019 11:28

@ElspethFlashman

Little finger "claimed" a lot of things - at any rate a natural alliance exists between them

BartonHollow · 12/01/2019 11:29

@Peanutss

We saw him and Beric run for their lives, we did NOT see them die Wink

Trills · 12/01/2019 11:33

hence all the Tywin "You're not my son" stuff

I thought that too but I've rewatched the early seasons and there's a point when Tywin sends Tyrion off to be Hand of the King in his stead, and Tyrion is surprised and Tywin just says "You are my son".

He's not at all consistent on it. I think it's a red herring, and just his way of expressing approval or disapproval.

BartonHollow · 12/01/2019 11:33

I can't imagine Euron genuinely being scared of them and not wanting a fight however it presents

In the book he's a batshit nutter scared of nothing.

It's a ploy.

I wonder if Elia Martell is dead yet?

Eatmycheese · 12/01/2019 11:36

This thread has made me realise I wasn't concentrating when I watched the last series.
I blame the children. Feel a big GoT catch up is due.

Martin has said each episode is like a film in its own right so I am doubly excited.

LaurieMarlow · 12/01/2019 11:38

I wonder if Elia Martell is dead yet?

Sad

Even by the standards of this show that 'death' was beyond brutal. Cersei really is a heinous bitch.

Peanutss · 12/01/2019 11:39

Eatmycheese

Yes, me and DH regularly use the time in between seasons to rewatch and it's amazing how much you miss the first time. There's whole storylines and links between characters etc.. that I didn't even realise until I rewatched them.
