I like Daenerys but I’m hoping for Jon Snow to get his happy ever after, and Arya too :)

Bronn for the win

placebobebo · 11/01/2019 20:45

Danys definitely going to die. That's been foreshadowed in the show already when Dario told her she was a conqueror, implying she would never rule.

Jon is going to die because he doesn't want to live. He puts himself in reckless situations not because he doesn't see the danger but because he wants it all to stop. As Berrick said they would find little joy in this life.

Arya will die. There is no place for a loose cannon rogue faceless man picking their own targets. In the books it's even been foreshadowed she will be found frozen to death clutching Needle.

Sansa has said repeatedly no one can protect anyone so my bets on her dying in Winterfell.

After White Walkers are defeated Bran serves no purpose. Its said he will fly but never walk, so unless this means the crows he wargs into to track the army of the dead progress he may well warg into a bird on his death.

Jamie, Cersei, Tyrion and Varys all relics of a bygone age.

Euron is just mad and will get taken out eventually but not before he's killed Theon and Yara, possibly burning their bodies and displaying them like Theon did to fake Bran and Rickon.

Gendry has made a big thing about being Roberts last bastard so Varys may have him bumped off to ensure Danaerys and any offspring may rule.

The only question left is will Dany be successful in her plan to break the wheel, or with everyone gone will the successor be doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.

AngeloMysterioso · 11/01/2019 23:15

I reckon they all die apart from Dany & Jon’s baby who is left to be raised by Tyrion & Varys and become the best ruler of the Andals etc etc whatever

GrimDamnFanjo · 12/01/2019 00:52

Of course I like to think that George has been trolling with everything that has happened outside the books so we will end up with a different book ending not that I think the last two books will ever see the light of day...

byronicheroine · 12/01/2019 01:22

I've started my rewatch and am just about to start season 2, to be in time for April (in theory!). It's so good second time round.

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 12/01/2019 03:04

@mumsnut, do love a bit of Bronn, hope he gets his share of the kingdom when this is over :)

The actual transmission date for S8 is being announced on American tv on Sunday evening! Hurry up! If it is 30 April I won't be responsible for my actions.
Give us a proper trailer as well!

I don't have as many theories as previous posters, but I love Arya and want her to survive to the end.

Ideally with Sansa. Bran can do one, he is little more than an annoying 'get out of jail free' plot device now. I hated that whole three eyed Raven storyline.

The thing I'm frightened about is if previously loved characters are now in the army of the dead. Ned Stark for instance, his body wasn't burned, was it?

Dany is a wicked woman (worse than Cersei in many respects). I won't be troubled if she dies. Jon is a wet lettuce now. Jaime very underrated, would like he and Tyrion to survive also.

I prefer the 'relationship' storylines. Not looking forward to big battles, I tend to fast forward through them. Battle of the Bastards was fine at 30 speed. 😀

Castle for Bronn, please, and Sam and Gilly to go back and inherit Tarly land, can't remember what it was called!

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 12/01/2019 05:56

Jamie will probably die a hero to undo his past, would like him to make it though. Agree Dany is very self righteous and wouldn’t care if she doesn’t make it. Jon is wet yes, but he needs to know his story and reunite his bromance with Sam. Arya to rule the realm with Bronn as her hand 😂

Correct me if I’m wrong but the series is only loosely based on the later books as they the story lines are very different, so I could definitely see how the books & series have 2 endings. You could have Sansa in the book dead & in the series as the winner. Wouldn’t put that past Martin!

cheesenpickles · 12/01/2019 07:17

My theory? All going to die and the Night King will win.

cheesenpickles · 12/01/2019 07:23

Also Jaime will kill Cersei.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 12/01/2019 07:35

I quite liked the battle of the bastards. I dislike Bran & I fast forward the night walker scenes. I want Arya, Sansa, & Tyrion to rule.

Mrscog · 12/01/2019 07:39

I really want Arya and Jon to at least meet up one more time. They had a great bond and I think Jon would be blown away by Arya’s skill and resilience.

I think most will fall to the white walkers, i suspect the survivors will have to flee on a boat/s.

crispysausagerolls · 12/01/2019 07:50

Ooooo if Jamie kills Cersei, perhaps he will be known forever more then as Queenslayer?!?!

I LOVE Jamie!!!!!!

cheesenpickles · 12/01/2019 08:38

@crispysausagerolls he'll die as well obviously. Suicide after or will already be mortally injured as he does it.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 12/01/2019 08:54

There was a definite change between Jaime & Cersei in the last series.

MyOtherProfile · 12/01/2019 09:05

He is the ONLY man other than her father to treat her with the proper kindness and respect.
The hound did! He was kind to her. Don't forget the hound. There's not enough talk about the hound here.
Hound hound hound hound hound.

Holidayshopping · 12/01/2019 09:12

When Euron asked if the alive/dead things could swim and fucked off back home when he was told they couldn’t, was that genuine or was Cersei telling the truth that they were working together and he was coming back?

I wanted to hear Jorah tell Jon all about who it was that cured him!!

crispysausagerolls · 12/01/2019 09:18

cheesenpickles

I hold out hope that he won’t die - I don’t mind a few deaths but it seems silly to have written such a magnificent character arc of redemption, only to kill him off. It’s lazy. Would be better/harder for him to come to terms with what he’s done and have a life after Cersei.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 12/01/2019 09:23

A life with Brienne Wink

FTMdueapril · 12/01/2019 09:40

Don't forget, Dany killed Sam's brother and father.... he's not going to be happy when he finds out about that surely.

abcdema · 12/01/2019 09:41

I have nothing to add but love love love the theories!

LaurieMarlow · 12/01/2019 10:07

There's not enough talk about the hound here.

So true.

The hound will fucking destroy the mountain in cleganebowl and be the hero of westeros and my heart will rejoice.

He could also be the valonqar and kill cersei. But I think that's more likely Jaime.

He'll survive to live happily ever after in the post battle westeros wasteland with Sansa.

KirstieandPhil · 12/01/2019 10:09

As long as the ending isn't Arya waking up, scrolling through Instagram and going 'christ that was a bloody weird dream' I'm happy Grin

I love how in awe Tormund is of Brienne's strength, height and fighting skills. Basically everything that is unwomanly of her.

sproutlove · 12/01/2019 10:10

The Hound is on Arya’s list. Wonder if she’ll still want him dead?
