I think Sansa will emerge as the only one with the skills to rule. However there might not be anyone left to rule by the end.

And I think it's completely unwarranted to say she "deserved what she got", given that what she got was raped and murdered by the Mountain (and her children murdered too), and we have no information that she did anything bad.

Cersei basically engineered the death of Oberyn. Revenge was a given.

The problem with Cersei is she never learns from her mistakes. She's so clouded by wanting to win that she doesn't ever consider the consequences of her actions like Dorne revenging the death of Oberyn.

She makes a brilliant villain though.

Oberyn's mistress and the sand snakes killed Circe's daughter - poisoned her with a kiss.

Only the one sand snake daughter was poisoned by Circe in revenge, l think Crazy Uncle Ewww did for the other two when he took their ship.

The Sand Snakes were Oberyns daughters by various different women.

One the youngest, was biologically Ellaria's so Euron killed the other two Obara and Nymeria and took Tyene with Ellaria to Cersei

It was an eye for an eye justice for Myrcella
who WAS completely innocent and Tyene complicit in her murder.

Myrcella is another way in which book to show differs, when Joffrey dies, the Dornish attempt to claim the Iron Throne in her name and as part of it, she falls from her horse and is horrifically disfigured.

I just remembered that it was heavily speculates that Tyrion and Cersei made a deal. In that conversation when he dares her to kill him once and for all and realises she's pregnant? We never see the end of that conversation, just her walking out afterwards and being suddenly conciliatory.

Of course we later discover it's all bullshit but Tyrion doesn't know that yet. Only Jaime knows and he's on the move North.

So there could be some serious blow back for Tyrion there. I think he's on fairly thin ice with Dany. She likes him, but can be a cold fucker herself, and takes "betrayals" (real or imagined) really badly.
